The Most Disgusting Run Defense Ever
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. I was watching something on ESPN breaking down the Bills lack of run defense. It appeared London Fletcher was the prime culprit. He cannot shed any blocks. He is always chasing, but puts up nothing at the point of attack (or impact with a blocker). -
Bring Back Marv Levy. . . I'm Dead Serious

What about him? Hire him if he gets fired? -
The Most Disgusting Run Defense Ever
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe we need to play defense like the Seahawks did against Houston last Sunday Night. They had eight in the box and stuffed the run. Everything was bunched up tight to the line. Yes, I know we'd get beat for some big pass plays, but I'd rather get beat that way at this point. Yeah, we need to get beat a different way, this way isn't fun anymore. . . -
It apparently doesn't matter that the game has changed and these coaches are old now. Great coaches just add something intangible to a team. This is a fact. It may take a year or so, but the team will buy into what the great coaches "are selling". Look at Gibbs and the Skins. They are going to be a force later this year, and even more so next year. I'd take Marv back in an instant. He wants the job too. I never thought he should have left in the first place. I think he should coach until the day he passes or cannot physically do it. . . We'll just call him the "Bear Bryant" of the NFL.

I've put down $1,000 on the Pats on the money line (they just have to win, not cover) and will win $550.00 next Sunday Night. Heck, if they're going to be this bad, I might as well help myself to some free money. . . It'll ease the pain, and this team's not going anywhere this year anyway.

I Screamed Bloody Murder When MM hired
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, therein lies the problem. We have a GM that is afraid to hire a real coach because Cowher got him canned in a power struggle in Pitt. TD isn't that stupid. . . this job is his livlihood, and I'm sure he's making more $ than the 9-5 shmoes that pay their hard earned cash to buy tickets to watch this junk week after week. . . -
For a while last year, I thought maybe I was wrong. . . but ah. . . NO . . . as usual TD was wrong. Greggie over Fox and M. Lewis MM over Crennel, Weis, Coughlin Ralphie, sir, please can TD's a$$ pronto.

if the bills beat the pats next week ...
BenchBledsoe replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This garbage team has about as much chance to beat the Pats (in N.E., coming off a bye and a loss) as a one-legged man in a shin-kicking contest. I have already put down $1,000.00 on the Pats (money line) and will collect about $550.00 next Sunday Night when the obvious happens. -
I'm licking my chops in fantasy football next week because I own Corey Dillon. He should go for about 140 yds and 2 TDs. I mean hell, every other RB that's faced these jokers explodes for their career or season best game. What is going on here? Why don't they put 8 in the box and take their chances with the CBs? They are going to give up tremendous yardage on the ground unless they at least attempt this. At least we wouldn't have to bear watching big run after big run, by every freaking RB they play. I'm sorry, I've always been in TDs corner, but this is it for me. They have NO depth at all on either line, not to mention the starters are pigs. He simply cannot build a team that can put it all together. Every year, when we think we've got some problem fixed, another one rears its ugly head. It's like trying to plug leaks by putting your fingers in them, but you run out of fingers at 10, and the leaks keep on coming. This team isn't going anywhere this year. Get JP some playing time NOW.

Is there any player available?
BenchBledsoe replied to The_Real's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, then he'll be another offensive lineman hogging too much of our cap, ala our other first round OT . . . what a horrendous #4 overall pick fat Mike has turned out to be. #4 overalls should be in Pro Bowls by this time. -
Huh? Please. We have as much chance of winning that game as a one-legged man in a chin-kicking contest. And like I said, we'll get as much airtime as Oates in a Hall & Oates video. (With the Pats of course, taking the "Hall" front and center role)
-
Boy, those schedule makers sure don't ever do us any favors: New England will be coming off a bye, AND A LOSS, on national TV with all of the "What's wrong with the Patriots?" and Bruschi hype and storylines. They haven't (and won't) lost two in a row since 2002. We'll be enduring our 2nd consecutive road game. But, what will be the most stomach-churning, will be the lovefest of Brady, Bruschi, and the Pats "great organization." The Bills will get as much air time in this one as Oates in a Hall & Oates video.

Bills/Jets Over-Under is at 33.
BenchBledsoe replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Under 33? Really? You mean you don't think Holcomb and Vinny are going to light it up this week? Hmmm. . . -
I was just watching the NFL Network and they showed a clip of a Nick Saban press conference. I thought I was looking at Kevin Spacey's twin brother. . . he even has that same silly little smirk. And about the same hair, or lack thereof. I don't know about you, but that Saban, with his pompous little snide comments to the press, really irks me. For example: "If I knew how I was going to use Ricky and Ronnie on the field at the same time, do you really think I'd tell you guys?" (pause. . . snide smirk, bordering on a snicker.) To me, the guy may be a good coach, but he seems like an utter Brian Billick-like pompous jackass. . .

Not exaggerating: Bills are NFL's worst team now

Indians AND the Bills? You are a glutton for punishment, aren't you? -
Fire MM tomorrow, Hire Marv Levy
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't agree more. In the grand scheme of things, what's better: MM with a few extra weeks, or Charlie Weis minus a few weeks?. . . nuff said. Can't believe they passed on CW. It would have hurt a division rival at the same time. . . and at that time CW hadn't interviewed yet with The Irish. -

Fire MM tomorrow, Hire Marv Levy
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have, I have. The Marv years were probably the last time I really felt hope. . . and enjoyed watching this team play. -
Hey, Gibbs has the Skins on the right track. . . I'm sure Marv would do the same. He WOULD take the job. . . that is well documented. Give that senior citizen a chance!

That last sentence was very telling. "Just a Buffalo thing" By your usage here, it has a clear negative connotation. . . interesting

All This Talk of Drafting O-Line to Improve
BenchBledsoe posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heck, we had the 4th pick in the entire draft and what'd we get? A bust who is completely not worth the portion of our cap he is gobbling up. If TD can't find a good O-Lineman at #4, what makes anyone think he can find good ones in the 2nd-3rd rds?? God help us if he takes another one high in this coming draft (we'll be in the top 10) and pays him a boat load of cash, and he's another bust like fat Mike Williams. We'd be dead for the next 5 yrs, cap-wise vs. production. -
I often have those same hopeless, fatalistic thoughts about the Bills. I do believe we HAVE become the Arizona Cardinals/Detroit Lions of the NFL.

In after game interview, TD says...
BenchBledsoe replied to Wiz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Including himself, if the team continues like this. Also, his childish post game comments the last two weeks are really getting me off the fence I was on about him. I clearly would have preferred Charlie Weis. -
I bet Drew gets his kicks on Route 66. . .
