  1. This is the same type of wait and see comments that people were saying when trying to defend the hirings of Greggie and MM. How did those turn out? What Jauron has done in the past is clearly an indictment of his head coaching abilities. We'll all have to wait and see with this team until we're dead, I guess.
  2. Who's on the schedule this year? I WAS looking forward to seeing the schedule when it came out but now. . .Is it really going to matter?
  3. Okay, Jauron should then get a ringing endorsement from Bills fans. I see. . . you're theory has one flaw however, and that is that Millen hired him in the first place.
  4. Mularkey was supposed to be the next Bill Walsh with his "innovative" offensive "genius" . . .
  5. Oh, okay the next Belichick, not Lombardi, my bad. . .
  6. Ridiculous. . . Al Saunders WAS available when we began our HC search. We, of course, didn't even bother to contact him. Mariucci doesn't have a great track record? What would you then call Jauron's? You admit that you'd like to have seen Fassel and Mooch given a look, I rest my case. If that isn't enough for you, Jauron will rest it come mid-season next year.
  7. For all those saying to give this guy a chance, the sky's not falling or whatever you're saying. . . Jauron must = Lombardi, because Marv wouldn't steer us wrong. Wake up and smell the roses you say?. . . (but um, they're covered in doggie doo doo now.)
  8. Yes, you're right. Please excuse us. . . we've just been so spoiled by all the winning around here lately that maybe we're being too hard on this hiring. We've had such good seasons lately that we shouldn't question anything the leadership of this team does. . .
  9. Unfortunately, this is the same kind of rhetoric I heard when people tried to talk up the hirings of Greggie, and MM. How did those turn out? The fans aren't as blind or stupid as some may think. Heck, we can even summize basic, not too complicated concepts like: If it looks like a rat, smells like a rat, then by golly it is a rat.
  10. There is absolutely no evidence that Sherman "wouldn't take the job." But, I'd prefer almost anyone (outside of Capers and Tice) to Jauron. Al Saunders? Jim Fassel? Jim Haslett? Steve Mariucci? Tom Moore? Sam Wyche? Marv Levy for a year or two?
  11. I completely agree. Marv happened to fall into the position of coaching several Hall of Famers in the 80s and 90s. This franchise has, for the most part, been a losing one.
  12. Oh, I forgot this interesting piece of info: Jauron was not wanted for the HC position in Detroit. . . So, not good enough for freakin' Detroit, but good enough for us? Ugh.
  13. Okay, a couple of years ago I was extremely upset when MM was named HC. Now, I believe we've sunk to the deepest depths of despair I have ever seen with this team. I feared this. I just knew they'd do something stupid. Dick Jauron as HC? Am I missing something here? Why on earth would we hire him? The guy was Ralph's cheapest option, and Ralph took it. That BS about price not being a factor for a HC was just talk to butter up the fan base. Memo to Ralph: This just in: The fans of Buffalo are not that gullible or stupid. The fan base is as pessimistic and pissed as I've ever seen them. Can anyone really see this turning out well? I don't. I believe, with a slow start next year, the stadium is going to be half-empty in late-season home games. Serves them right. I, for one, will continue to be a fan, but my heart won't really be into it, as I feel I can only bang my head against the proverbial wall for so long. Bottom line fact: This team, with this owner, in this market cannot compete in today's NFL landscape. (Or maybe will not, instead of cannot, take your choice.) (If this was Marv's decision, and Ralphie wanted Sherman, then my apologies to Ralph and Marv can go back into retirement now. But, we'll never really know.)
  14. I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom. . . by the way it's "loopid", not "looptid"
  15. BuffOrange, obviously you're the only one around that doen't think Meathead is a big step backwards from Linehan. . . So, hey, I've got some nice beach front property in Nebraska I'd like to sell you. . .
  16. You sir, don't have a clue. Linehan was one of the highest regarded offensive coordinators out there, including his Minnesota days. Minnesota did not want to lose him, and Miami did not want to either. They paid him handsomely to get him from Minnesota. It's also noteworthy that Miami ran off a several game winning streak at the end of the season, when Chris Chambers was having his best stretch of games in his career. Culpepper's first season without Moss, coincidentally was without Linehan, and the experts are divided as to who was really the bigger loss in Culpepper's meltdown. With MM, the bad play calling you mentioned in your post, would be the norm. Do you really believe that Miami fans are going to like going from Linehan to Meathead? You are only fooling yourself, if you believe that. I'm sure they remember their big comeback, aided by his play calling, a short while ago. MM is for all intents and purposes, Rich Kotite. I'm begging for him to get the Miami job.
  17. Yeah, the lenses starting cracking at about 7 feet away. . . Lordee have mercy . . .
  18. Does somebody have a link, pretty please?! We need to get a good look at that "thing".
  19. Have you guys gotten a look at the bird's nest that Capers sports these days? Wow. He used to have that ridiculous comb-over that was sprayed to the max. Now he wears that horse-hair looking thing. We cannot allow him to be our next head coach if for no other reason . . .
  20. I was tremendously happy to see Miami lose Scott Linehan as their OC. He was/is considered a rising star in the coaching ranks. Before the Vikings let him go, they were in the top 5-7 in offense for several years. (For you fantasy players, don't downgrade the St. Louis pass offense players even though Mike Martz is gone.) Clearly, Miami's offense was starting to improve late in the year, and Chris Chambers was really taking on the Randy Moss role in the Miami offense. They were onto something big with Linehan as OC. Thank Christ he left Miami. To go from Linehan to Meathead is a tremendous downgrade. As Bills fans, I think we should pray for this. Please Saban, hire that clown! We'll know to play pure pass if they ever fall behind us by more than 3. Remember that the year MM left Pittsburgh, they ranked 21st in offense. Cowher said they needed to get back to Steeler football by running it, after MM left. That comment, to me, was a serious indictment of MM. I hated his hiring here. You knew the cutesie offense, that didn't really work, was coming here. Please Miami, hire that guy. I'm sure that'd fire up our team evern more when playing Miami if Meathead is there.
  21. I agree that the Golden Boys are kind of limiting their search. . . but I'm not sorry to see Payton go elsewhere. As I stated on anoither post, he is the same guy who had his play calling duties yanked away from him at mid-season by Jim Fassel in New York in 2000. Then, coincidentally the Giant offense took flight, and got them into the Superbowl. It was a huge story that year, yet nobody seems to remember it now.
  22. Thank goodness we have to cross him off our list. I don't see what the interest is in the guy. REMEMBER: He is the same guy that had his play calling duties yanked away from him by Jim Fassel in New York a few years ago at mid-season. Then, coincidentally the Giant offense took off, and they made it to the Superbowl (lost to the Ravens) that year. Look it up, this is absolutely true.
  23. Yes, let's hope that friendship will not sway Marv. Let's hope he does the right thing and passes on his buddy. Can you imagine the fan backlash if Jauron is hired? It would get very ugly, maybe even with a capital "U". . .
  24. Wow. . . who is that chickee in your avatar? Can I pretend that she's a Bills fan. . . and wants Sherman over Jauron?
  25. I can't stand Fartz, but if given a choice, I'd take him over Jauron. At least we'd score some points. Anybody get a look at Jauron's offenses with the Bears and Lions? Granted the talent level wasn't great on those teams, but it could be argued that Harrington = JP, Kevin Jones = Willis (this year at least) and the Lion WRs were grossly misused. Why is Jauron even in the interviewing process with us? That's a mystery to me.
