Tomorrow Night Football Season in Buffalo
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, the fans are the reason this team doesn't deserve to win. Get a clue, they sell out a large stadium 7 out of 8 times, often in freezing cold conditions, to watch a 5-11 team. Yeah, it's the fan's fault -
Tomorrow Night Football Season in Buffalo

I'm just illustrating that our sports past has been a bit more than "a little adversity". In fact, our heart-breaking moments are the subject of lore at this point. It has reached comic proportions in much of the country. Have you not read the article on the front page? That sums it up pretty well. -

"A little adversity"? Hmmm. Yeah, and 9/11 was a little mishap. -
Tomorrow Night Football Season in Buffalo
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a flash, I just thought of the most torturous thing. . . The Sabres BEAT Carolina in Game 7 tomorrow night. . . then proceed to the Stanley Cup. There, they give all kinds of hope to Buffalo sports fans. . . until losing Game 7 at home, to 8th seeded Edmonton. Would this be the all-time crusher? Or is Wide Right never going to be topped? -
Once the Sabres inevitably lose Game 7, and break the hearts of Buffalo sports fans, as ALWAYS is the case, it'll basically be football season in Buffalo. Sorry to be a pessimist, but as a Buffalo sports fan, I think I'm entitled. . . I've earned it. History has dictated it. Even the story on the front page makes mention of this kind of thinking. Hoping for the best . . . but knowing better deep down. . .

Bills to Go Winless This Year?
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was hoping there would be stronger arguments (and more of them) to refute this guys prediction. But, it appears that many on this board agree with him, deep down, and are just hoping for the best. Nobody can accuse this board of being too homered in nature! But, I guess anyway you slice it, this is a bad football team right now. That doesn't seem to be questioned. -
I was listening to a so-called football "expert" on a local radio station here in the Denver area this week. First he talked about the Broncos, and the true contenders for this year's Superbowl. Then, the topic turned to the worst teams in the NFL. . . He mentioned San Francisco as 31st worst and Buffalo as the dead last team, ranked 32nd in the league. He went on that this year's Bills team has a real chance to go winless. He mentioned the following: 1) A likely disasterous 3-way QB rotation that will be unsettled all year. 2) A miserable O-line that wasn't really addressed this offseason. 3) An unmotivated and likely disenchanted Willis McGahee 3) The loss of Eric Moulds leaving the team with no proven #1 WR and a true lack of size at the position 4) A retread, losing head coach that features offenses that make Mike Ditka's offenses of yesteryear look innovative. 5) A draft that consisted of very little immediate help, with two huge blunders in the first round. 6) A schedule that looks tough on paper and could lead to a history making 0-16 season. He said the Bills likely will NOT be favored in any game this year! This clown would, on the surface, have no reason to bash the Bills. He objectively thought they'd have a real shot at "making history".

It's Official: No Immediate OLine Help

If you can defend not addressing the O Line yet, then yes. . . you are a dumbass -
It's Official: No Immediate OLine Help

We may get lucky and find something that eventually will help. But my point is that it is inexcusable to not yet have addressed this dire need before the 5th round. (At the earliest! We have not yet seen the 5th round picks) -

Just a typo, dumbass -
It's Official: No Immediate OLine Help
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but unfortunately the top O Line FAs weren't signed here. For you guys to excuse that we haven't yet addressed the O Line in this draft is epitomizes the term "Blind Faith". -
There's now no way that any O Lineman we draft will be a first year (i.e. THIS year) starter. With Marv's history of not playing rookies, (unless semi-forced), there is no way that a 5th rd or later O line draft pick starts for us this year. (unless of course, we get killed by injuries during the year) In other words, we're going to get no immediate O Line help from this draft. This to me is inexcusable. All Bills fans were expecting some immediate O Line help from this draft. With us taking an O Lineman no earlier than the 5th round, it is even debateable whether we will get any long term O line help from this draft. That is even more inexcusable!

Unfortunately, you may be waiting for quite a while to see an improved season.
-
Golic didn't REALLY bring up Ralph's and Marv's age for the reasoning behind these picks, did he? His comment could well be true, but do you really hit that low a blow on national TV?
-
I agree with some of what you said, but Moulds being a comparable WR to Javon Walker? Hold the phone with that! Moulds is about done, Walker, if he comes back healthy, is a young rising star.

Now what does Travis Henry do?
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did we trade our original 3rd or the 3rd from Tennessee? Either way, I meant that we do NOT have two 3rd rounders now. -
Happy as clams? Bearded ones?

Small Market "Train Wreck"
BenchBledsoe replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, it sounds like you like. . . and don't like our draft picks. Hmmm. -
What a retard Travis is. He basically whined himself (and other naughty stuff) into being a fringe player in this league. He'll be out of the league and in jail in the next few years. TD, for all his shortcomings, did rip Tennesee off for getting a 3rd out of them. Too bad Marv didn't capitalize on our good fortune.

And New England gets Maroney & Jackson
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh, right. I should have known that Buffalo's front office is much more shrewd than New England's. -
There's no way to paint a pretty picture here
BenchBledsoe replied to SoCal Pat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely correct. We could have gotten those players AND MORE. That's the point that these guys defending the picks are missing. These two guys might be good players, but Marv and the front office has shown they don't have a clue how to "work the draft" to get the most out of it. Dan Reeves and Butch Davis both commented on NFL Network that the Bills, while filling two needs, have paid a mighty high price. They were surprised that the Bills did what they did in both instances. -
Hmmm. . . compare that to what we got. Nuff said.

99% of the posts today are ridiculous
BenchBledsoe replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ah yes. We all know that with the great recent success of the Bills, and their drafts, we shouldn't question what they're doing. -
I love the way some try to put a postive spin
BenchBledsoe replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't think after our first pick that we could sink any lower. I was wrong. We just "torched" a high third round pick. McCargo, or an equivalent, would have been there when we picked high in the 2nd. This is baffling. It must be part of the grand scheme to get us to suck, then to get us moved to LA. Yes, there is a conpiracy.
