Pyrite Gal, I've seen that you are largely an optimist with your posts. But, are you at all able to put a positive spin, or can you see any good in this draft so far?

I love the way some try to put a postive spin

Have you ever seen the Denver offensive scheme? Widely considered to be one of the best in the league. They have average/slightly above average skill position players (Plummer, Bell, Dayne, aging Rod Smith, underachieving Lelie) and they almost always are able to move the ball and score points. Kubiak is no Mularkey. No way. -

This is exactly what I'm saying. I couldn't agree more or have written it any better. Every year we hear this same nonsense when these things occur. You have hit the nail on the head. -

Actually I don't subscribe to the fact that "Texas" players have been flops. Some have yes, I agree. But, remember everyone said that Penn St. RBs were always flops? Then Larry Johnson changed that. Also, Florida WRs have a reputation as being flops, seen as a product of their system. Maybe that's why Chad Jackson is slipping. But, he may be a very good player. I don't think you can just say that certain players/positions from certain schools will be flops as a blanket statement. -

I think Vince Young is the ultimate "high risk/ high reward" player. He has tremendous upside, but probably more of a chance to be a bust than Leinart and Cutler due to some of his mechanics. Do I like the pick? Well, yes for the Titans. And just remember, they're in Tennessee. If their team stinks, the guys can just go back to making out with their cousins -

I hope he changes games for us. But as I said before, when you make an apparent reach, the odds are much higher that you've errored than hit a home run. Nobody can see into the future, so it's possible we hit a home run with him. . . BUT from a statistical point of view, (i.e. what the odds are). . . we're basically pissing in the wind here. -

He is a solid 3-down baller. . . he better be at # 8. Also, I've read several scouting reports that list his speed at 4.50 - 4.53. Drafting Bledsoe? huh? -

Not wanting to predict the future was why I used examples of past disasters. My point is: When you go "against the grain" like this, the odds are much higher that you've errored than hit a home run. I'm not saying it can't happen, but the odds are strongly against it. And with the history of Buffalo sports teams. . . do you really think we are the "lucky ones" ? (see dictionary definitions: torture, misery) -

You're comparing apples and oranges. Thurman was a steal in the 2nd, letting Ballard and Odomes go turned out to be the right calls. What does that have to do with this reach # 8? Marv never coached anywhere? Well, yes he did. But he never GMed anywhere before. -

I agree with your analysis that that is what needs to happen to make this seem plausible. But the fact is that the scouting reports have this kid as a pretty good, but not great player. -
I just love the way some posters try to sugar coat the Bills disasters. After a disasterous move the team makes, they begin the "On second thought, It's not so bad. Or the "Just wait and see" kind of stuff. The lastest is our # 8 draft pick. Now, after the initial reaction to the disaster has sunk in, some are trying to play up or sugar coat this disaster. It's the same kind of talk we heard after these disasters: 1) Greggo over Marvin Lewis and John Fox 2) Mike Williams over Bryant McKinnie 3) Mularkey over Charlie Weiss and Romeo Crennell Tell me, how did those turn out folks? Excuse me if I am unable to see the brighter side of this draft pick. I'm just looking at the facts of the past.

The writing is on the wall. The new CBA WILL end the existence of the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo when Ralph passes away. Obviously, the powers that be knew what they were doing . . . they are going to get what they want eventually. . . The Bills out of Buffalo. When that dreadful day comes, I will have watched my last down EVER of NFL football. The Bills are the only real reason I follow it now. The greed of owners and players, ridiculous over kill regarding advertising, obvious favoritism to the "Golden" teams like Dallas, the great diparity between the "Haves" and the "Have Nots", and all the overhype will all be too much for me once the Bills are out of the equation. That dreadful day in the not so distant future, I'll swear off the NFL for life, in my own little personal protest. I'll make sure I never waste one minute on a "business" that ripped a lot of people's hearts out.

Losman, Holcomb, or Nall?
BenchBledsoe replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My vote goes for Jay Cutler. -
Oh, and while we're at it, we might as well trade for Peyton Manning, L.T., Julius Peppers, Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, and Walter Jones.
-
Just thought I'd throw this out there. It's about as ridiculous as most of the other trade "possiblities" being thrown out there on this board.

I read the title of this post real quickly and almost thought it was referring to the title of that Police song, long before Sting went solo.
-
I'd say Adams, Reed and Campbell all needed to be replaced. Am I in the minority thinking that?

Yes, I'm a dictionary, think I'm all bad, have "won", am priceless and am giving high fives to my buddies. . . but what scares me most is you "have a life-size picture" of me. By the way, "typo's" as you wrote, doesn't need an apostrophe. They are used for contractions or to show possession. -
Okay, I've read quite a few posts that rip our new FAs. While I agree that Royal and Davis may not offer too much help and are questionable, we should not rip Tripplett. Anyone who watched him play this past year KNOWS he is a definite upgrade over fat-slow-takes himself out of the play Sam Adams. Tripplett is a DT more in the mold historically of Tampa Bays type of DT. Quicker, lighter, more of a penetrator (I know, penetrator jokes to follow). So, it can be argued Marv has upgraded DT, TE and WR. Tripplett > Adams Royal > Campbell Davis > Reed While some would argue the above point, It is a FACT that Marv has upgraded team speed. Adams, Reed and Campbell were all as slow as rush-hour traffic.

Um, I guess "hypocricy" as you spelled it is a typo too. It's spelled "hypocrisy" genius. -
Maybe it is Rocky Bernard? (Hope, hope) He did supposedly have some meeting today with an unidentified team. . .

Um, IndyMark, the next time you want to badmouth someone's lack of education or intelligence, you may want to run spellcheck first. . . "recieving" as you spelled it, is spelled "receiving" (I before E, EXCEPT after "C", remember?) -
Haven't you heard? Justin Bannan is going to start there
-
Just read it. Surprising, since they just signed Mike Anderson. Those two will split time, for all you fantasy geeks. . .
