  1. I couldn't agree more. This guy has got to go. He will cost us some tight games this year with misses. And other games could be lost less obviously, when we punt from the opponents 30-35 yd line because the coaching staff has zero confidence in him. . . and rightfully so. Come on TD, at least bring in someone else and take a look. It can't hurt. I can't believe that TD did not address this in the offseason. Now, TD will likely just keep his fingers crossed and go with the pig.
  2. After looking over the Bills schedule and watching what looks to be a horrible offensive line in "action," it is unfortunately clear that this team is about a 6-10 type team this year. I was re-watching the game on NFL Network today and it was horrifying to see our offensive line. I couldn't believe it. I hadn't noticed it as much when the game was going on live, but really looking at it today was scary. The pressure on our QBs was often immediate, and I'm speaking about the starting offensive line. Gandy is a freaking sieve. He has no business starting at LT. On most teams, he'd be camp fodder, and waived during the first waive of cuts. Mike Williams is a very average lineman in this league, so is Bennie Anderson. Trey Teague is playing out of position. Our QBs aren't going to have a chance. Willis is averaging 3.1 yards per carry in the preseason. There simply are no holes. His number of carries that he's getting caught in the backfield for losses is ridiculously high. He is a franchise back that has looked exceptionally pedestrian at times due to this O-Line. And before you throw out comments like "It's only preseason" or "doomed" realize that I am speaking of the starting O-Line. Wait until teams really game plan and send all types of blitz packages in. This O-line is as bad as I have seen in the league. They are the worst (or as bad as any other) O-Line in the league. So, as much as it pains me to write, we've got to face it that a 6-10 type season is quite likely. No offensive line and an inexperienced, raw QB are going to be a lethal combo, especially in the AFC East. Who else is concerned out there? I haven't heard near enough on this topic as is warranted.
  3. Just want to get the boards opinions. . . what if Holcomb clearly out plays JP in the preseason and seems to spark the team, while they're lackluster with JP in there. (Think Flutie vs Rob Johnson type of change. . . in terms of team spunk only.) 1)Who would be in favor of starting Holcomb on opening day? 2)If not opening day, then how long would you give JP to turn it around before annointing Holcomb the starter? 3)Is this your worst nightmare scenario? Personally, I think Holcomb is much better coming off the bench and being a short-term (2-3 games) starter than "the guy" His track record in Cleveland showed that. I also wouldn't pull the plug very easily or early with JP. He'll likely struggle mightily at times, but hey, we saw that from the QB position last year, so it'll be nothing new! Notice that Cincy did not have a short leash with Carson Palmer last year, despite having Kitna waiting in the wings. Yanking a guy too early/often can rattle him . . . sometimes for the long term.
  4. Yes, I live in Denver (well the suburbs, anyway.) The nightlife is excellent. Go down to "Lodo" (lower downtown) and hang out. There are tons of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. there. You might want to go down Market St. It is jam packed every weekend. Also, if there is a Rockies game when you are in town, you might try places near Coors field (on Blake St.) The crowd is even bigger on such nights. Less of a club area, but more good restaurants and shops are found in Larimer Square (Larimer St.) If you want to gamble then there are fairly big casinos about an hour away in the Central City/Blackhawk area. Ask for directions when you get here. It's an old mining area that has really been renovated in the last ten years. The casinos keep popping up and are getting bigger and bigger. I live right off of Bronco Parkway in Aurora, CO. I'm 2.3 miles from the Bronco football facility in Dove Valley. If you want to see the camp goings on of a "lesser" team, you might check it out. I just saw footage on the news of Fatso Mo Clarett dropping an easy little screen pass. Denver's a fun town. You'll probably enjoy yourself.
  5. I guess that the jokes will stop when we lose these games. Don't say I didn't warn you all it was coming. We will probably beat the Dolphins at home (but not a given), but winning at San Diego and New England with them coming off byes at home? . . . fuggetaboudit Also, what ever happened to Bills fans being amongst the most knowledgeable?
  6. It's not an excuse. . . it is simply a fact of the schedule. I'm not saying they can't still have a good season, but a completely even playing field? No it is not. And it isn't coincidental.
  7. So, you don't believe in a league wide conspiracy to keep the small-market Bills down? Try this fact on for size: THIS SEASON the Bills play a team coming off a bye three times despite playing a game themselves the week before. I looked it up, and NO OTHER team has this anomaly occur more than once!!!! Can this be a freak coincidence? No, not when I looked it up from the year before and it happened twice then too. So, five times in the last two years? No other team had this happen to them more than three times over the last two years!! Read it and weep: WEEK 5 - Sunday Oct. 9 - Miami at Buffalo (Miami takes a bye in week 4, Bills play at New Orleans) WEEK 8 - Sunday Night Oct. 30 - Buffalo AT New England (Pats bye in week 7, Bills played AT Oakland the week before! So, we play AT N.E. on a Sunday night, they take a bye the week before and rest, and we go all the way out west, and second week in a row on the road. Nice scheduling by the league. We get reemed.) WEEK 11 - Sunday Nov. 20 - Buffalo AT San Diego (San Diego byes in week 10, and we play home against K.C. in week 10. Again, we are on the road to a team coming off a bye when we played the week before, and it is ALL the way to the west coast. This is totally ridiculous) You don't believe this? Look it up for yourselves. NO other team has to play teams coming off byes when they played the previous week as much as the Bills. I haven't seen another team that this happens more than once to! Factor in that two of these are on the road, and I'd say we've got a story here. It should come as no surprise to us. When you've got a 9-7 team that gets less national televised exposure than stink pots like the Cowboys, Raiders, Redskins, Chiefs, Giants. . . you know that something sour is going on. I felt it was my duty to report the painful truth here. I don't like it anymore than you all should.
  8. Does anyone think he can be any worse than Lindell? Does anyone have his career stats. . . or at least stats from last year?
  9. I could not agree more. . . and I too had a lump in my throat. God bless Buffalo and the Bills. May we all vow to never let them leave.
  10. Just a little humor, because people around here were really needing it, me thinks. Me thinks Everitt a really good one too! But, alas, me opinion don't mean nada!
  11. Well, your lame ass reponses were wanted on two threads. . .
  12. If that's the truth then I like the way you put it, "Be prepared" as in be prepared to be pissed off and see much teeth-gnashing, hair pulling out, last second losses, punting from the opponents 30 yd line, etc. . .
  13. If it's any significant cap savings, I'd give away TH for a burger and a beer.
  14. Trade TH for a 3rd and take Frank Gore to replace him.
  15. I think that plan is too risky. We could use the help THIS year. Also, who would take TH's place if we traded him that late? We do need a solid back up.
  16. At least those guys are dependable up to 40 yds. Then sign a kick off specialist. We CANNOT go into this season with Lindell as our kicker. Who agrees with me on that point? Who replaces him is debateable. . . that he needs to be replaced isn't!
  17. If we trade TH for a third, I'd feel like we escaped. TD would breathe a sigh of relief to unload TH for a third at this juncture. TD has no leverage, a third would be a gift.
  18. Agreed on many levels. However, TH would be an unbelievable distraction if he isn't traded. I think he MUST be traded for whatever TD can now get for him. We don't need a malcontent on this team, especially one who has been so ridiculously vocal (as has his agent). Cut him if push comes to shove during training camp!!
  19. I think Philly's late 2nd is only a pipe dream. With Arrington to Arizona, TD has lost all leverage with trading Travis. We are looking at only a third rounder for TH, if that. TD definately won the poker game with Atlanta and Peerless a few years ago, but this time he has gotten reemed by waiting and playing hardball. We may not even get a third for TH. It goes to prove what many of us have thought all along. NFL personel men know that TH is a hog-o-lot. Many of you pipe dreamers had thoughts of a late first rounder for TH about nine months ago.
  20. Put in your vote for the biggest bonehead. . .
  21. Over the hill? Didn't he just put up 1500-1600 yards . . . and he only got one carry week 17 at Denver. He could have won the rushing title had they needed to win that game. . . anyway you slice it, he's a huge upgrade over Sammy Morris and the other stiffs currently there.
  22. I think it goes much deeper than just that. . . regular season scheduling ALWAYS makes me think that there is a conspiracy against our small market team and winning. . .
  23. If the Colts gave up Edge and only got Travis out of the deal. . . they'd have gotten "teabagged". . .
  24. There's no way that Travis' stock is on par with Edge. . . Indy would need more incentive than that, regardless of cap implications too.
  25. If they gave us a second rounder it'd be a great fit. . . for us.
