  1. I'd prefer making one that says "W2 - You Can Thank Me Later"
  2. For all eternity. Get used to it.
  3. Chef, not to get too far off topic, but where did you used to work in LA? I picked up the Chasen's cookbook, primarily for their chili recipe. Apparently in 1962 when in Rome shooting "Cleopatra," Liz Taylor had Chasens ship her ten quarts of their chili. (And it's the best chili I've ever made.)
  4. This may be something of a skewed view, but I think this is total BS. The fact of the matter is...at least to me...there have ALWAYS been Salvation Army people sitting outside stores during the holiday seasons...bundled up, ringing their bell, never asking for a thing. It's a part of the holiday flavor to me. Christmas decorations, caroling, Charlie Brown, Grinch, Wonderful Life, and Salvation Army folks. Those bells say it's Christmas time. Whomever pushed to make this stop needs a visit from the "Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come."
  5. "According to your mother, it's a miracle." (Sorry, dude. It just jumped out at me.)
  6. No, but she apparently got her demeanor. Judy Garland was something of a B word.
  7. Man, I know there are a lot of features here, but they even know when we take a crap? G. Host. I hope it was a good one.
  8. Thanks for posting those, Rico. More than anything else, I think Mort makes a good point about McGahee. At least as I've watched him, he always seems to make something out of nothing. More often than not, just when I think he's down, he's not. He may only average 3.something a carry, but he seems to get three on FIRST DOWN pretty consistently. Given what we've been through, I'm pretty pleased to be seeing a decrease in the numbers of 1st and 15s and increase in the number of 2nd and 6s. There's good stuff happening. Not just McGahee. The line is better. Bledsoe is better. Defense is better. Special Teams is better. We just seem to keep getting better, and as much as I hate to say it, I'm more interested this weekend in seeing us play a good, solid game...see us build on what improvements we've seen... than I am in seeing us win. Just show me that this 'getting better' thing falls easily under the belief that "once is an accident, twice is coincidence and three times is a trend." And let's face it, we were much, much worse when we first hooked up with them, and almost pulled it off, until we became much, much worse again. If we can keep mistakes to a bare minimum, and keep doing what we've been doing, we can win this game.
  9. That play had bad written all over it from the beginning, starting with Moorman's kick. You could immediately see us push off the line and drive them back, and I'd go so far as to question whether he would have made it had the exchange been dead on accurate. I will, however, agree with stevestojan in that Carter was a good pickup. I was never completely sold on the coke thing with him, in part because he pulled off 10 wins last year with a new everything. Did he do some? Probably. Is he a cokehead? Probably not. If he can fit into the Jet's offense quickly, he can keep them alive. It was a good pickup for them. He'll get his ass stomped this weekend though because the last thing he needs right now is Ray Lewis and Company chasing him down. I'll be curious to see who shows up; Quincy Carter who won ten games last year, or Quincy Carter turned Ray Lucas. Should be fun to watch.
  10. I am stunned at how incredibly quick you are at demeaning other people in your quest to demean me. Is there something wrong with living in a studio apartment? Is there something wrong with reading about history and politics? Is there something wrong with taking the initiative to be informed about the things affecting the world today? By an accounts of all your posts, the answer to all those questions is a resounding "yes." You clearly look down upon people who either have to or want to do any of those things.
  11. I miss G. Host. He was an excellent driver.
  12. If he did a better job telling the truth, maybe so many people wouldn't be uneducated.
  13. Don't kid yourself. You're higher up than that.
  14. As it is referred to here, Hot Pockets is short for referring to "the American Idol crowd with the Hot Pockets mentality." In some circles it is more appropriately referred to as The Extraordinary League of the H.O.T.P.O.C.K.E.T. F.O.O.L.S. We're a lazy country and a lazy people, and we're at the point now where we can only ever stay focused on anything of importance for mere nanoseconds before our attention is off to the next topic. And what matters most to us is immediately gratification. We can't even make a sandwich anymore. We have to cook one in three minutes because if we don't get it done quick enough, we'll miss the next installment of American Idol. Classic example: someone of global significance dies...a person whose very death can change the future of the Middle East for all eternity, and everyone is upset that their show was pre-empted to the point where the station has to run the episode again to appease the Hot Pockets. We had a similar thread during the Presidential debates, where someone was upset because it preempted their TV shows. Heaven forbid we should wonder what the ramifications are of Arafat's death. Or what comes out of the presidential debates. That's what we mean when we refer to Hot Pockets.
  15. Yes, the ramification of Yasser Arafat's death in the global scale of things clearly pales in comparison to the hour you wasted. Hell...everyone knew he was about to die. Why couldn't they just pre-empt CSI and just schedule a re-run. Oh, wait. They pre-empted primetime TV during the presidential debates, and if memory serves, certain people were upset about that, too. There is no pleasing the Hot Pockets crowd.
  16. What an incredible bio. When you look around today at the makeup of our country, and use this as a backdrop, it's simply amazing to me that we don't spend more time respecting and honoring people like this. One of the greatest things a person can do in this world is understand and embrace the concept of selflessness, because from selflessness is borne other, more dramatic traits of humanism. Being selfless is quite possibly one of the....ummm...one of the...ummm...uhhh... Sorry. I Tivo'ed 'Lost' and have to get going. Ding. Attention span over.
  17. French...Military...and Honor. Never figured those three words would ever be put together.
  18. I never thought I'd defend Michael Moore, but the following quote from the article is pretty accurate. Moore says. "Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information (in this election) and we want to educate and enlighten them. They weren't told the truth." Moore is 100% right. Everyone who saw his movie were not told the truth.
  19. I find the Kelsay photo a bit disturbing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  20. And the result of the Washington Redskins final home game before an election has been 100% accurate in determining the next president...and the Red Sox haven't won a World Series since 1918. These things mean nothing anymore, and neither does the stat you cite.
