Pegula Dog on the loose, offering reward(update FOUND)
Heitz replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has Sully chimed in on this? "The dysfunctional Pegula's can't even manage their DOG, let alone a football team! I would have brought in a veteran Labrador Retriever who knows what he's doing..." -

Then there's this: "The Buffalo Bills have no idea what they're doing at Quaterback" http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/buffalo-bills-tyrod-taylor-brandon-beane-sean-mcdermott-quarterback-comments-quotes-051517 "The Bills are a complete mess, and the disconnect between McDermott and Beane has proved exactly that. After just a week together, they don’t seem to know who will be the team’s starter for years to come, let alone in Week 1." I guess he *doesn't* like the idea of an open competition? Some people can't help but read into every word... -
Bills Hiring Joe Schoen as Asst. GM
Heitz replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree 100% - funny that so many people have been asking for this for so long and now that we have it, there are still people that don't like the moves Obviously we'll see what they do over they years, but I applaud the direction... For sure. Interesting that all three started out as interns too, learning the business from the ground up. We've had a lot of success with interns brought up through our system where I work... That said, I'm actaully a little surprised that no one has said "We hired three INTERNS to lead this team? What a joke!" -
What if Peterman is better than Mahomes??

Just because we don't believe what YOU'RE saying doesn't make us losers. Stop by the TBD tailgate sometime, I'm sure you'll see were not (and I bet you wouldn't be so brazen in real life). Seriously though mods, I've been reprimanded for less than this guy... -

Let's hope the mods are paying attention. There are about 3 - 4 posters that go on and on and on and on with the same thing, stating opinion as fact, just to tell everyone else that they're right and everyone else is wrong. Pretty annoying... -
Worried About the Scout Vacancies- Big Hole!
Heitz replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/5/12/15625600/brandon-beane-buffalo-bills-gm-panthers-experience-football-operations-assistant-gm Not sure it's a huge strength, but doesn't seem like a weakness either. "Four years later, Beane took over as interim GM for the final 10 games after Hurney resigned. The Panthers went 6-4 while Beane held the post. More important than the record, Beane showed a knack for evaluating talent by plucking edge rusher Mario Addison from Washington’s practice squad and signing kicker Graham Gano." "Beane had experience managing the salary cap, but hadn’t done a ton of scouting early in his career. But he started going on the road to scout college games when he was interim GM, a practice he continued after Gettleman was hired (Beane was the only in-house candidate to interview). Beane further honed his scouting chops under Gettleman, whose affinity for film-study is as well known as his love of minivans and bagels. Gettleman and Beane would watch video of every play from every Panthers game, as well as most of the plays of free agents Carolina was considering. Gettleman says Beane was an eager film critic.” Also, in one of the articles after Beane was hired (can't find it now), it said that filling out his scouting staff was going to be an easy task, FWIW. But hey, I know at TBD we like to stay worried! -

Here are QBs drafted in R1 and R2 from 2004 - 2016. http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/nfl-draft-how-these-52-qbs-have-done-1.2829033 Some big names on that list, but seems like far fewer "Franchise guys" that not! And this article from '15: http://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/index.ssf/2015/04/success_for_quarterbacks_picke.html "Success for quarterbacks picked in NFL Draft first round? Less than 50-50, even for highest picks" And those are just two articles from a quick Google search. Naturally the person you're arguing with isn't going to give you actual facts, he thinks his opinion IS fact... -

I think that IF the s hits the fan, both McD and Beane will be fired - this is a package deal. Unless maybe we have a star filled team and McD just can't coach (which I find hard to believe from all that I've read about the guy) then MABYE just McD gets canned, but I think both will be held accountable. I also think (or at least hope) they'll be given 4 - 5 years to prove themselves and their ways. By all accounts Beane and McD have worked together in the past and have a very solid working relationship. Whaley seemingly had issues with ALL of our past coaches, so maybe he earned his "tough to work with" rep. In the end, everyone the past regime was held accountable - literally almost everyone was FIRED! I'd bet Overdorff is next and it sounds like Russ may be losing a little sway. The Pegula's aren't afraid to make moves...

What if Peterman is better than Mahomes??
Heitz replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't care if Vince Lombardi came back from the grave to make the pronouncement bolded, I'm not buying it. At least not yet (give me 12 years to see if he's still the QB in 12 years). I've watched enough football and drafts to know that QBs are kind of a crapshoot. You, nor KCs GM, *really* knows how Mahomes will perform once he's on the field and the real bullets are flying. The other big counterpoint is that if he was such an obvious spectacular, once in a lifetime, GOAT, Super QB wouldn't every team in the league have been trying to trade up to get him?? I mean, think about it... -
So are we "Still Doomed", "Not Doomed", or "More Dooooomed Than Ever" now? I can't keep track of shifting opinions Sounds like a collaborative effort with a lean towards "traditional GM" role...

[closed]Carolina fans are saying that Beane

Wait, wait, wait - we're NOT getting paid for posting on TBD?? This explains my lack of checks from SDSCorp, but not what hell I've been doing for "work" for the past 16 years... -

Was going to say, even if Peterman wins 5 SBs and Mahomes 0, Jeff will still be here to tell us the Bills were dumb for pass on a Sure Fire Franchise QB! -
Marty Hurney: Bills hit a homerun!!
Heitz replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well yeah, other than that, and 19 years with the Panthers, what has he done in the league!? Coincidentally, Sirius NFL is talking about the hire (Bruce Murray and Mark Dominik) and seem impressed too... - Knows a lot about everything (is a big picture thinker) - Good hire, comfort level with McD, knows how he works - Gettleman put him in a great position to ascend in the NFL (Gettleman has been a part of 7 SB teams?) BTW, Dominik also said that Bills have a very solid roster and have a lot of pieces to work with, fwiw. -
Finally I can get that Bradford jersey I've always wanted - I hope his number is 814!

FWIW, I watched Concussion last night on a flight - fantastic movie! Definitely a must watch for NFL fans. It's a real shame what many players go through as they start to age. And while it's real easy to say "players know the risks", I'm not sure they really realize what long-term damage can be done. I'm not sure what the solve if (or even if there is one), but that flick definitely changed the way I look at the game a bit...
