  1. Right foot OB
  2. If there's little drop off in the quality of the 1 Tech DTs between the 2nd highest defensive player and the practice squad guy, the logic doesn't mesh that one guy is playing well and the other guy flat out sucks. Can be both. First quarter, Eagles 2-15, Howard runs straight past Star who's cleanly stood up by Brooks and can't even move one inch to his left. That's been emblematic of his whole year and more plays like that all game long. If you believe that is all part of the defensive design, then there are bigger issues than as lazy overpaid DL on this team.
  3. Yes, he's been a consistent underperformer. If the coaches truly believe that he played well, why did Peko get so many snaps and why was Peko in on a critical goal line stand. The logic doesnt mesh.
  4. McD also praised Kyle Peko's play in the question immediately before. Watch McD's body language as soon as he's done answering the question about Star. He's waiting for the tougher follow up, which never came.
  5. I did. He's the same blob that he's been all season. Speaking of Eagles, they knew exactly how to game plan against him. (In case you missed it the first time)
  6. I would add that the main reason you saw the results in games 6-7, is that teams saw game tape after Harry was out of the line up and started exploiting Star's ineffectiveness He better let Frazier know, because Peko's play count has been increasing.
  7. There's a 6+ minute tape that shows Star getting manhandled by a JV Dolphins line a few pages back. He was single blocked by Seumalo for most pf the game and essentially neutralized. I have no idea why you think Star's role in this defense is essentially to stand up, engage the blockers and do nothing else. Because that's his highlight reel this year.
  8. Which is consistent with most of his other snaps. The only time he can move laterally is with a helpful assist from the Guard
  9. Isn't that essentially how they played it yesterday. He was good until midway through 3Q, then the wheels fell off after Singletary TD. Don't know if Schwartz threw some ghosts into coverage, but suddenly Allen looked a lot more confused than he did prior in the game.
  10. I think that was the TD to Brown vs Jets. I'm struggling to find many other completions that traveled more than 25 yards in the air. The Angry Knox pass was about 15-20 yards
  11. 25+ pass in the air, or total yards on a completion. The two are obviously very different.
  12. The two go hand in hand. If you loosen the grip, his bad habits come back because he's still not a good passer and consistently bails to the run when he's panicked. Everybody knew that he would be a long term project if he is to be successful. Now, half that crowd wants to abandon the development because they don't like the growing pains.
  13. You also run a much higher chance of ending his season or career. There's a reason to the madness of keeping him on a leash.
  14. Yup, discussed it earlier in the thread. Cap hit won't be that big, especially if it's a post-June designation. Realistically they will probably restructure at a much lower salary and he becomes a role player.
  15. It's not like the Eagles didn't have a past history against Star. Seems to have been a repeat of their last game against him. From The Athletic - "That concern didn’t reach Lotulelei in the locker room. The defensive tackle, who is in the second year of a five-year, $50 million contract, said he wasn’t frustrated by the way the Eagles ran the ball. When asked to clarify that he, the man paid handsomely to stop the run, was not frustrated by the Eagles trampling his team, Lotulelei seemed offended. “No,” he said."
  16. There is evidence. In this thread! I'm not doing your homework for you. Keep storming that hill.
  17. What evidence are you looking for? Like something that was posted in this exact thread 2 days ago?
  18. What are you talking about? There is ample evidence of his poor play ON FRIGGIN FILM!!! He's not even double teamed anymore. He stops when he's run out of the play, while you see 94 and 97 still chasing the carrier down the field. Yes, you see other big boys still hustling, especially when games are close. Star looks as checked out as can be. He's walking back to the line while the play is still going!!!
  19. He was the anti-Josh this week. Pretty good for the first 2-1/2 Qs, awful for the remainder of the game.
  20. Do you watch the plays or just go by memory? As soon as the runner is past Star, he's done. There is zero effort to play to the whistle. At least you see Peko hustling to the ball carrier even after he's manhandled. Star gets off the snap, tries to engage the blockers, then completely stops and watches the rest of the play. It shouldn't even be an argument because the tape proves it. I freely admit that I was wrong about criticizing Harry's performance. Since he went down, the Bills defense is clearly exposed and Star is the biggest reason for it, because his weak play is fully exposing Edmunds' liability as the run defender. Call it the perfect storm, but McD needs to fix the weakness up the middle ASAP
  21. I think that's point. Most criticism is about the miscasting of his role. It's becoming clearer that Bills will be better served with a more traditional MLB and kicking Edmunds outside. I wonder if Beane still trades Ragland away of Edmunds was already on the roster?
  22. That's not the same as excusing bad play because he was young and was still learning the position. At a certain point, that argument gets tired for a guy who's started 22 games.
  23. Which is a serious problem when you sign a guy for 5 years and he only gives a 1-yr effort. More and more he's getting single teamed and still loses leverage and position. And yes, I expect a DT to tackle the RB if he has wrapped up his legs. I've seen a handful of tackle whiffs by the 2nd highest paid defender.
  24. That was not an excuse for his play, but his off-field behavior. That's what got him traded. There was never a question of Dareus learning on the job. Also note that the worst defensive run outings by a McDermott team have all come after the Dareus trade
