  4. Oher has more upside, but Wood is the kind of player that on draft day you know will be a solid NFL contributor for the next 10 seasons. He may never reach All-Pro levels, but he will at the very least be a solid starter at a key position that you can now ignore for the next decade.
  5. I don't have insider, but their newest rumor is Bears are signing Pisa. Take it for what it's worth.
  6. If Keith Ellison was so bad last season, do you think there is a chance he gets cut outright, even if we don't sign Pisa T? I know they're not overly excited to have him as a starter, so I would imagine John Digorgio, Pat Thomas, Alvin Bowen and maybe to a lesser degree Nic Harris will all have an opportunity to challenge for the job. If the guy has proven to be a mediocre starter, what is the value of keeping him around as a backup? I know he has "experience", but if his experiences are bad, what value is that?
  7. Tim, I know it's early, but in your opinion, how many points will the Bills be favored by in the Super Bowl?
  8. Wow, an overdrafted fullback traded for an underachieving defensive tackle. alert the media
  9. I have heard NFL scouts say Brad Butler is one of the most underrated guards in the NFL, and the only thing holding him back from being a pro bowler is durability. So needless to say I disagree with you.
  10. How much of an upgrade would Levi Jones be? I don't pretend to watch every Bengals game, but hasn't the guy been mediocre when healthy since signing his big contract extension 2 seasons ago? If he were such an upgrade, would the Bengals have used their premium draft choice to replace him?
  11. for 2 fifth round picks- per NFL radio
  12. I think it's Langston Walker's job to lose. Maybe they make a trade for Alex Barron now that the Rams have a new tackle.
  13. Gil Brandt hosted a show called Late Hits on Sirius NFL radio with the guy who wrote this article. Everytime Brandt said ANYTHING about the draft, this guy said he was taking notes and was treating it as gospel. I was actually the person that called in and asked him if Brandon Pettigrew was a guy Buffalo would target at 11 ( this phone call did happen the day before the Peters trade, and on that same show, Brandt said Peters was the most likely of the big name players to be moved before the draft). He said the Bills would like Pettigrew, but probably not at 11. They would like to trade down. He said he saw them going DE at 11. So I asked if Robert Ayers was a guy they would be targeting, and he simply said Ayers was a strange player because before the season started he wasnt on the radar screen, and now after a strong off season, some people are talking about him as the best defensive linemen. He then said he didn't believe that Ayers would be the guy they would target at 11. He didn't say anything with certainty. He just gave his opinion.
  14. Tim, if there is no salary cap in 2010, then there would be no salary cap penalties. Wouldn't this allow teams to dump all of their bad contracts without the threat of "dead money against the cap"? The more I read about this uncapped year, the more I think it's actually a benefit to the owners, and a bad thing for the non-superstar players.
  15. Sanchez- Redskins Crabtree- Browns Pettigrew- Falcons B.J. Raji - Broncos Orakpo- Green Bay
  16. I thought it was interesting. I didnt understand the Clay Matthews pick at 28, and don't think it would happen. I think the Bills would address the O-Line or D-Line in some fashion, but I don't think they would view Matthews as a DE.
  17. Ed Reed Troy P Bob Sanders Chris Hope Laron Landry Brian Dawkins Yeremiah Bell Adrian Wilson Jermaine Phillips Eric Weddle
  18. I just don't know. Mike Mayock compares him to Jason Witten. If he is Jason Witten, then take him at 11. Others compare him to Bubba Franks and Daniel Graham. I respect the fact that he is an elite blocking TE, but I just can't justify taking an elite blocking TE 11th in the draft.
  19. A QB taken first overall in 2009 SHOULD want more money than a QB taken 3rd overall in 2008. If anything, Monroe and Smith would command more money, because the first pick last season was an OT
  20. Second round? Ha! He dominated Andre Smith when they played against each other, and he is a fast rising player. Mike Mayock has his top 20 out. 21. For a guy that will at best be the nickel back, it really made a lot of sense. He is a vet that has speed to burn and has played in zone and man schemes. I really don't think it's a lock he wins the nickel job. Youboty was playing solid before he went down, and Corner flashed solid coverage skills as well.
  22. The thing with Parrish is, kick/punt return is an area of strength for the Bills. McKelvin and Parrish both have pro bowl ability, and McGee is also a former Pro Bowl returner, although I feel his days as a returner are done. Freddy Jackson provides enough depth as a backup kick returner that if we could trade Parrish for a starting player, it would be worth it. Now, I have a hard time seeing another team trading for a 4 million dollar punt returner, unless they fall in love with his speed. Personally, I STILL ( call me stubborn) feel like he isn't utilized enough in this offense. Some of those reverses that go to Josh Reed should go to Parrish. Why not a bubble screen here and there to see if he can make the first guy miss. He may not be the most polished receiver in the NFL, but he is a guy the defense has to account for on every play he is out there, which is something you can't say for any other receiver on this team besides Evans and Owens.
