Malarkey should start Holcomb and then do what the playoff bound teams will be doing this week and pull all his starters for the second half. Put in Losman at QB, Preston at center, King at CB, Baker at safety and so on and so forth. This way he get's a look at the players on the bench, soothes all veteran's second guessing and still the Bills would have a good shot at not dropping in the NFL draft order.

I'll be rooting for him. Talk about getting a life's worth of tough breaks.

John Abraham's status as a free agent?
1billsfan replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As someone previously mentioned, Abraham is only 27. Why would he not be considered a buidling block? -
Could we ever get Bill Parcells?

Well then maybe Ralph should ask him. I'm no geography expert but Buffalo is a heck of a lot closer to Saratoga than Dallas. -
John Abraham's status as a free agent?
1billsfan replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never even thought about this senario. Abraham is a player the Bills should seriously ponder. Our lack of pass rush is not talked about around here because of our run defense and offensive line problems, but with Tom Brady in our division I think getting Abraham could be a key to beating the Pats. Yes he has warts, but he may be a player that's worth the risk. The Bills will be in the best position moneywise if he wants to stay in the AFC East to torture the Jets. -
Then why did he try to out trick his oppontents on countless key "power running" situations? Then why didn't he bench the players not capable of implementing it? There are backups, right? Then why didn't he lobby to cut an offensive linemen or two and bring in some free agent? This guy literally has no "Plan B". Be it game or roster adjustments. Seems like Malarkey's just like his team, all talk...no walk. This is why he's lost all respect.

quit worrying about the draft...donahoe has

Knowing that and the fact that Mike Malarkey has a winning game plan makes me feel all sorts of warm and fuzzy. -
Could we ever get Bill Parcells?
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the B side of the Drew Bledsoe single. The A side is that "he can still throw the deep ball". Drew will have to retire now because both the AFC and the NFC coaches now know the book on him. Does anyone know when Parcells' contract is up? -
Could we ever get Bill Parcells?
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He saw his future with Drew on Sunday and it made him sick. -
He's been at Dallas for three season's, but given his track record he's due for looking for a change of scenery about now. Going head to head with his understudy who's surpassed him on the best ever NFL coaches list would be a huuuuge draw. I bet he likes Spikes, Fletcher and some of the other defensive veterans. He likes strong runners like McGahee. Also, the Bills will have a high draft pick and a boat load of money to through around assuming he'd take over GM duties. What would it take to get this ball a rollin'?

I was hoping that they'd break ranks and give me an answer. Oh yeah, like that'll happen!

Van Miller Interviewed on Denver Radio
1billsfan replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Van's not all there. I think even the most critical Bills fan can see that Losman has all the tools and will be a winner if and when the Bills decide to get a real NFL offensive line. The guy can evade the rush like nobody's business and can obviously throw the ball deep and accurate (Van must have nodded off in the Miami first quarter). JP is the last guy I'm worried about. -
Ok then Mr. Levelheaded poster, please give us all a plausible name that you'd want coaching the Bills next season. I dare you to tell me you want Malarkey back, please. Here's a hard fact tough guy: The Bills are the LAST place a prospective head coach will want to come. So I hate to tell ya this but if your looking for a former head coach, Wade Phillips might be the best this team will be able to do fella.
-
Who do the non-crack smokers want as the next head coach? Seriously, give me a name of who you'd like coaching the Bills next season? Please name someone that we could possibly get. I was just curious of the reaction his name would get. He's probably around number 5 or lower on my list of coaches I'd want. But I would take him over Malarkey no doubt.
-
I'm not saying I even want him back, but I'm just floating his name out there. He did get us to the playoffs before and had the Titans on the ropes before the most absurd play ever in playoff history happened. Then bring in Haslett as the DC and Norv as the OC. If Malarkey goes I would mind him being thrown into the mix. Hey I think Wade even wears a headset now! Just curious, who was our offensive coordinator during the year of the Titan playoff loss? Anyone know?

You obviously didn't watch the game on Sunday. This team needs a HC with leadership skills much more than coaching experience. You listen to Mike and Mike's morning show? Sad, very sad.
-
I'm thinking more than figurehead here. This offense needs someone with the chops to call plays on the fly. Rest assured Kelly can do this. I would hope that Sam Wyche could become assistant head coach and split some of the head coaching duties. Jim would obviously be JP's new "QB coach".
-
This club needs a head coach that the players would look up to and play hard for. I know Kelly's never coached before, but the man did run the no huddle for 4 years straight to the Superbowl. Give either one of these guys some sound coordinators on both sides of the ball and keep Bobby April as the special teams coordinator. I know a lot of guys here are clamoring for "experienced" head coaches but who would you seriously rather have as the next Bills head coach...Jim Kelly or Jim Fassel? As for Singletary, now one would be allowed to play with a lack of effort, that you could count on. If Jack Del Rio can be a succesfull head coach I would have no doubts that these two old schoolers could do it.

Everyone who's been counting Moulds as good as gone are way off. There are a couple of things that you MUST have if you're going to have a chance to be a good team, that's either Tom Brady OR a true number one receiver like Moulds is and has always been. Biting the bullet on his big contract number is a must if the Bills have any thoughts of being a competetive team next season.

Everyone wanting Moulds out of Buffalo
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You got your wish, hope it was worth it Malarkey. Try not scapegoating your stars in your next coaching job. -
This is the post of the day. As bad as it is for players not to give it their all, this team just showed Malarkey what they think of his leadership. Ralph Wilson needs to permanently suspend both Mike and Tom. I don't even think it would hurt our chances for prospective GM's and head coaches at this point. I think everyone involved with the NFL would understand.

Three things can happen on any given pass play and two of them are bad. That one is on Malarkey for rolling the dice when a field goal wins the game.

Which Team Will Eric Moulds Play For In 2006?
1billsfan replied to Nanker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he scores 3 or more touchdowns the last 3 games I would have no problem with his 2006 salary. -
Couldn't have been said any better.....
1billsfan replied to mackey7789's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bravo Dawgg! Poor play is acceptable and sympathy enducing for Malarkey, no wonder why the Bills are softer than Charmin toilet tissue. -
...and see what life without Eric will be like in 2006. This one's gonna be ugly. You got your wish Malarkey, have fun getting blown out by the Pats you loser! Keep Moulds, Can Malarkey in '06!
