Does anyone remember who lost a game 41-17 last season?

Given how bad our team has been in past years it's amazing we would in fact actually make it to that last step. -

Good one! -
The eventual World Champion New Your Giants at home in the Meadowlands to the Minnesota Vikings. This place needs to get a freaking grip on the reality that all NFL teams will get their butts beat during the course of the season. The silver lining is that the coaches can lay down the law for two full weeks and we should see a much different team when they play the Chargers in Orchard Park. As for yesterday's game in particular, Kurt Warner looked like a man on a mission and sometimes you have to just say that the other guy flat out had our number and move on. Warner impressed me and it will be very hard for another QB to top that performance against our defense this season.

What we know about the Bills going into the bye week
1billsfan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Warner was a man on a mission today. He was embarrassed last week and he clearly looked as if he was taking no prisoners. Just remember that even Kelly's Bills had their butts kicked on the road sometimes even in those Superbowl years. I'm confident that our team will get back on the right track in two weeks. Don't everyone get too down in the dumps about this one. -
That was one of the most improbable finishes to a game I've ever seen. Truly unbelievable.

Why are we underdogs against the cards??
1billsfan replied to kbuckley9091's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that the oddsmakers see the unbiased better looking at a Cardinal team who was embarrassed by the Jets and who has their season on the line this Sunday playing at home. Add to that they're playing a team that has needed three fourth quarter comebacks in a row, and they predict that their "luck" will run out against an NFL team that's so desperate. Here's how I see it, the Cardinals aren't a good team without Anquan Boldin. The Bills are a good team playing with confidence, who refuse to lose and who'll fight to keep their unbeaten streak from being broken. It'll be another close one given the Cards desperate frame of mind, but I think the Bills will remain unbeaten when the clock hits double zeros. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game
1billsfan replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear you, but that McKelvin hit was very impressive. I wouldn't worry about the crusaders, the Bills are finally in a "big picture" situation sitting here at 4-0. It's time to feel great about this team. Who knows, maybe the Bills will eventually figure out this offensive line thing this year. If not, everyone will be singing your tune for that first round pick of the '09 draft. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game

Hey, no mention yet of Jackson's or Greer's contributions? C'mon Bill, nice try to keeping up with this team. I too am enjoying every second of it! I don't have any complaints about style points either. In the NFL it's all about the wins baby. -
I can't believe how much the AFC picture has changed

Will do. Bill, I'm amazed at what Trent has done this year. It's not about looking bad for three quarters, it's about refusing to lose like Kelly and his bunch would make a habit of doing. These last two comeback games are eirily familiar to us Bills fans here old enough to remember the young Bills of the late eighties. -

Thanks! Hey, I posted in detail why the Giants would beat the 18-0 Patriots in the Superbowl. So sue me if I need a little warming up period this season. -
We've been on the crap end of those kind of kicks for so long and given the improbable fourth quarter comeback, I can understand the earth rumbling response. That clip was awesome, thanks.

Sorry, but you're one of the angriest posters here with fans you have disagreements with. As for your description of me, you couldn't be more wrong. I stay with my opinions until proven wrong. I was wrong on Losman being the better QB for this team, an opinion I stayed looooong after it was politically correct to do so here. I took a huge dose of punishment from those opinions but never did I switch to avoid the slings and arrows. It wasn't until the Pitt preseason game that I "saw the light", so to speak. Also, never did I waver on Jauron's conservative approach killing this team and him needing to change or get lost. I was railing against this approach after the second game of the 2007 season. I was spot on with that opinion. Jauron clearly has changed his approach and the Bills are a completely different and successful team in doing so. But don't let that get in the way of your angry replies to my posts. Come on, serve up some more of your cute quips eball. Release the anger dude and enjoy the ride. As you kids like to say, it's all good baby! -

So angry, yet you tell others to enjoy the ride? You're too funny. I've got news for you eball. The Bills are going to soon be 4-0 and you will be seeing many many more and much bolder predictions than what I've given up here. -

They're done. Once Brady went out for the season I thought they were toast. Yesterday's game only cemented my opinion. Those guys have no clue what to do without Brady. I think the Jets will be our toughest competition for the division title. I predict the Jets will beat the Chargers tonight as well. -

I think you're characterization of the Raiders as being a "walk over" or an "easy trouncing" is false to begin with. I don't know about you but I saw a talented Raider team that appears to have been underrated this season. That's a team that can give anyone in this league a run for their money with their defense and running game. There was a reason why the Bills were having a tough time and it wasn't all just because of them not playing hard enough. I never said the Bills were a powerhouse right now either. I only said they appear very much ready to take the falling AFC team's place. This team is playing light years ahead of last season's team. -
Pats are clearly done. Colts look very bad. Chargers, Jags, Steelers look shaky and the Bills, Broncos and Titans all look very much ready to take their places as AFC playoff participants. I'm still shaking my head at what has transpired in such a short amount of time. One question remains though...If the Bills stay on this course, what the heck are we all going to argue about here?

It was Dick trying like hell to be the old Dick again. Football is as much a psychological game as it is a physical game. With that decision, Jauron sent a message to his offense that he didn't trust them to put seven on the board out of the gate. This was clearly not the same offense for the first three quarters as it was the last one. I truly believe that dumb decision sent a "negative" tone that wasn't broken until Trent busted loose. I also think it may have impacted the kick coverage unit since they looked totally confused on the first play of the game. I hope Jauron has learned this valuable lesson and will only defer when weather conditions dictate it is the smart move. By the way, do you really believe that the defense is the strongest unit? That may not be so after today. All three units look strong on this team.
-
Maybe Dick Jauron will become smarter and no longer defer to the second half like he did today. I thought that bogus move sent a bad "2007, we don't trust you" vibe to the offense. It took them three quarters to shake it off, but when they did, kaboom! I didn't buy into Trent until after the Pitt preseason game this year, all of you Edwards folks were right. Jeez were you right! Edwards in that fourth quarter was simply amazing! Awesome feeling to be a Bills fan today.

...in jail for money laundering. Not Bills related, but thought it would be interesting news for the older members here who remember his days with the Giants. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ahf5...p&type=lgns I stumbled across this then went to ESPN and NFL.com to see if they reported on this and couldn't find it. I wonder how many former name NFL players are in jail that we don't even know about.

Give me a break, if you can't see a difference between this year and last year then I seriously can not help you. Last year 0-3 and looking very pathetic, this year 2-0 and looking very impressive doing it. This year they have the "winning mojo", last year they had nothing to brag about when you consider the crappy teams that they beat.
-
This team has clearly found it's winning mojo. You can not find one negative comment about this team and that's because they have looked very impressive in their first two games of the season. Now we have a Raider team that might be too dysfunctional for "The Jerry Springer Show", coming to town this week. Everything points to a big Bills win! My only hope is that this young team can keep their feet firmly planted on the ground and to not listen about how good they are and how they're going to be in the playoffs. This team looked bad at tackling against the Jags and the Raiders now have a very good runningback in McFadden. This is a big test for this team to see how they handle success. They were playing with house money in Jacksonville. Other than the Bills themselves and their fans, they were not expected to win it. This week is much different. I think that their character won't allow them take the Raiders lightly. But whether you believe it or not, this week is a big test for them.

Enough with the apologies. Being one of the most ardent haters of Dick Jauron I certainly DO NOT feel the need to apologize to him. In fact, I like to think the haters had a hand in this new Bills change of philosophy with a much more attacking style. Jauron was smart enough to realize that a repeat of the ultra-conservativism of '07 would end up costing him his job. I have nothing but praise and respect for him as long as he does not dig back into that crusty old loser conservative style. Even if the Bills had lost today's game I would not have had a problem with him. How much more fun is it to watch a team that actually throws passes on 1st and 2nd downs to backs and receivers, and throws passes into the endzone. That was all we haters were asking for and I haven't been this pleased with the Bills in about eight or nine years. Keep up the good work Dick, I think you're on to something big!

Best football game I've seen in a long time
1billsfan replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't felt this way about the Bills since the 1988 team. Specifically, a young and talented Bills team that started the business of winning in a big BIG way. They got to 12-4 that year, and I don't think that record is out of reach this year given our schedule and the first two teams we beat. It's so great knowing that the coaches and the players have all hit their strides at the same time. I love this feeling baby! We've waited soooooooooooo long for this. -
You really should be thanking us VOR... Dick Jauron has clearly changed his conservative ways, our work is over, beating that dead horse did in fact work, as the kids like to say "it's all good" now, God bless the Bills and God bless America! Oh yeah, and one more thing...you're welcome.
