Yeah! Let's have two full days of fans and media bashing and trashing Dick Jauron before they fire him. Because that's the classy thing and right thing to do. What a freaking joke. This front office looks just as unsure of themselves and what they're doing as their head coach did on Sundays. It's comical.

Who's decsion was it to kick a 46 yard FG in a tornado?
1billsfan replied to Mularkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For some unknown reason the people who cover the NFL have given Dick Jauron a blank check for a lifetime of horrible coaching. They think that since he is such a sweetheart of a guy that he should remain a head coach no matter what. You just watch the outrage after he is hopefully fired. There is no outrage over Mangini's firing who had two winning seasons in his three years with New York. But fire Dick Jauron after three straight losing seasons? 7 of 8? How dare Ralph do that to such a sweetheart of a guy. There's that and most NFL announcers are dunderheads anyways. -
How about someone who doesn't pee his pants on Sunday and think every minute of every game is a crisis. If hell does indeed freeze over, I hope the Bills hire either Parcells or Cowher. If not, then I hope they find a fearless young guy like Raheem Morris or Josh McDaniels. BTW, how in the world is Dick Jauron still our coach as we speak?
-
Look, football is hard. It's hard to play in the wind. It's tough to play against it and it's tough to play with it. Our players fought hard out there. Every minute of every game is a crisis situation. Yes it's disappointing to lose, but all you can ask for is the players to play hard and to try not to lose the game that is very hard to play in. Maybe that should clear up Donte's well thought out commentary.

If Bill Parcells has an out clause in his contract with the Dolphins then HE'S the only dude that Ralph should get in contact with and pay him whatever the f he wants. Carroll is too soft a character for this job.

WHO COULD BE OUR NEW HEAD COACH?
1billsfan replied to bills-chick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll take anybody not named Dick Jauron right about now...retread, new guy...whatever. Last offseason my pick was Spagnuolo. Given Ralph's penny pinching when it comes to hiring head coaches, I think they'll be outbid for him now with so many head coaching openings. So with that being said, my second pick since the iceberg hit the ship in 2008 has always been Raheem Morris. He's the 32 year old DB coach from Tampa Bay and is considered to be a fast rising star in NFL coaching circles. Yes, he's a "hotshot". I don't care either. I'll roll the dice on a hotshot. The guy came from the tough streets of Livingston NJ and is said to be very loud and very passionate about the game. But like I said, I will take anybody right about now. I just want Dick Jauron gone. -
I was being facetious. Bill doesn't want dumb Dick going anywhere.
-
Don't let the doubters get you down, you're not alone. Bill Belichick will most certainly second your motion that Dick deserves another chance.
-
My expectations are for a 2009 Buffalo Bills team that plays smart football and looks like they actually give a damn about winning. Three years of emotionless brainless football is far too much for any fan base, much less a fan base as passionate as the Bills, to endure. If the next Bills head coach isn't ready to kick some player ass to provide that then he shouldn't be hired in the first place.
-
You're way off base with your scolding tones here, I would say that 90% of Bills fans were giving Jauron this final third year to prove himself. Of course I wasn't among them, but a ton of these fans were still holding out hope that Jauron's 6 of 7 losing season's as a head coach were a fluke thing and that he was just the most unluckiest losing NFL head coach that ever lived. Bills fans were more than fair and loyal to Dick Jauron. Three years is a lifetime in today's NFL to prove you either are getting the job done or you aren't. The fact that he had 4 of 5 losing season's before the last two with the Bills was the reason I wanted him to be fired at the end of 2007. Bills fans gave him three big fat chances and Dick gave them three big fat losing records and a 0-6 record against the division to top it all off. I think that you're the one who's in full B word mode today.

So Todd finally admits that Dick Jauron should be fired on the last day of the 2008 season. Why should anyone care how long he thinks the rebuild will take, he was wrong about Jauron and he's wrong about how long it takes to turn around an NFL team in today's NFL. I was one of the lonely few who was screaming that Dick Jauron should be fired at the end of last season. We'd be a year ahead if they had done just that. I happen to think that this team will make the playoffs with a brand new, and hopefully competent, head coach in 2009. There's no rebuilding to be done, it's built and just needs a couple of more parts and a coach with half a brain and some fire to get this team into the playoffs next year.
-
The GMs, coaching, running games and defenses were the other 10% that got them turned around? Yeah ok...
-
So you scold Bills fans who wanted Dick fired AFTER you say he should be fired? Sorry Todd, but I think the season has fried your brain.

John Harbaugh smacks down Bills chances...
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why even comment on who he thinks is going to win the game? Seriously. The classy thing to do is say "we aren't going to worry about things we can't control". I've got to say that I'm shocked at the total apathy here regarding what this jerk said. -

I found the video (5:29 minutes)... http://www.baltimoreravens.com/media_libra...2_23_Harbs.aspx He even calls the Patriots beating the Bills the "lock of the week...bank it, book it". Sorry pal, but if a head coach saying those things about our Bills doesn't make you upset then I'll have to question your fan loyalty. It was a VERY disrespectful and classless thing to say for someone in his position. It's not like we have 0 wins and we just beat the Broncos in Denver. The guy is an official a-hole in my book. -

You're missing the point. It's not what he said...it's that an NFL head coach, said something like that in front of a camera and microphone. -

It may go with the territory for NFL pundits and fans to make such proclamations, but it doesn't go with the territory for other NFL coaches to get on a soapbox make the bold prediction that everybody knows the Bills will lose, to the NFL world. He was a jerk for saying it and if it doesn't bother you then please tell me the last time you heard an NFL coach practically guarantee another team will lose who didn't happen to be participating in the game they were going to be playing that Sunday. -

It was disrespectful and classless for him as an NFL head coach to add that "everybody knows that" comment. -
Could we get a first round pick for Whitner?
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is an easy question, I'd take Jason Peters. Peter's is fast becoming a perennial all pro (though this year it was a dubious selection). Peters was an undrafted TE prospect who made himself into one of the league's premier LTs. Exactly what about that fact lends you to believe that the guy has no heart? Just because you don't like his negotiation tactics? That he feels like he's tremendously underpaid? Whitner is the polar opposite. He was a top ten pick in the draft who has NEVER lived up to that! Please don't give me that crap about his heart vs Peters' lack of heart. Give me a break. -
Ravens head coach said "New England's going to win the football game, we know that, everybody knows that..." Sorry no link, saw it on the NBC local sports segment in NYC. It looks like it was pulled from an NFL Network interview though. I know the chances are slim, but it was just the way he said it that reeeeeeally irritated me. Too bad Kelly wasn't there to deck him like he did his brother.

Maybe not, I was flipping back and forth between games on the NFL ticket and may have missed a few plays. Who did he hit and when did it happen? Three years till we get a big hit? That sucks for a former 1st round "star" strong safety. -

Please give me one memorable hit that Whitner has made in his career as a Buffalo Bill. -
...an awful lot when he gets a DC gig. I think that Jauron will command about the same salary that he is getting as a head coach with the Bills (he's the lowest paid guy in the league). I could be wrong, but maybe that's why Ralph is backpeddling even with holding a signed extension from Jauron. I think that Ralph will only have to compensate the difference between salaries. I can only hope this is the case.
-
...we get the same or better production from Simpson, Wilson or a second or third round draft pick? The reason I ask this is because I'd like Alex Mack C AND a defensive mauler be it DE or LB drafted in the first round. If Jauron goes then all ties to Whitner are gone in my book. Whitner has never lived up to the hype but I think that there could be teams out there who might bite on getting him based on the continued hype that follows him for some unknown reason. I want the Bills to keep Greer and have him along with McKelvin, McGee, Corner for a solid CB situation. The Bills need a center and a defensive playmaker much more than keeping the disappointing Whitner. Every time I see him, I think about how stupid it was not to draft Ngata.

He certainly has been one of the most honest players here. I don't get the a-holes who hate him so much. He didn't work out and they need to get over it regardless of the reasons why. Life is short, move on. He proved me to be very wrong but I still wish him luck. If Jauron had the balls Losman did, he'd say that this game against the Patriots is make or break for him as the head coach. But Dick doesn't have the balls to do that and is a perfectly happy man going 7-9 three seasons in a row. He clearly isn't upset about it.
