Hey Obama, exactly who are the "fat cats"? Outrage doesn't begin to describe my disgust with government and the endless waste of taxpayers dollars... http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/party-time-f...tory?id=9390933 The revolution of 2010 and 2012 can't come soon enough. At least I was able to help vote out that liberal pig Corzine in NJ this year.

Do you blame Reed? The guy's been nothing but a cocky SOB since he's got here.

Bills need to try and catch lighting in a botttle

I agree. Though the only retread that might be worth a look is Billick. The Bills job will only have so many takers. -

Given that it's been widely speculated the Bills were going to strongly consider hiring a new GM ever since Jauron's departure, I find the word "major" not pertaining to a new GM. That word just doesn't fit after all of the new GM/head coaching talk has been exhausted these last few weeks. Big? Yes. Major? Not so much. -

Released, October 2009... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1411663/ Oh yeah, I forgot about the Miami celebrity owner thing, that was probably it. Move along, nothing to see here. -

Whoa...that was just an anecdote. Oh great, now I've created a monster! I'm just glad no one's busted on me for watching a Bon Jovi rockumentary. -

I would love it if this were all true. "Major" change is not another GM or even the hiring of Mike Shanahan (who I see as having less than 0 interest in Buffalo). -

My first thought was an ownership change. That is the only thing that would constitute a "major" change in Bills nation. This has nothing to do with the Bills, but in Showtime's backstage rockumentary about Bon Jovi's last tour, the subject of the purchase on an NFL team came up. Mr. Jovi was on the phone in his hotel room having serious phone conversations with a group that was trying to buy an NFL team. He was trying to convince this person on the other line that he was a serious businessman and not just a cheesy hair band singer. Just a side anecdote I thought I'd throw in there. Exactly which team was this group trying to buy? Hmmm... Speculation is all the fun we have left this season. My bet is Ralph is selling the team. -

Actually he's not the offensive coordinator. He's "Asst. Head Coach/Running Game Coordinator/Offensive Line". Whatever the heck that means... http://www.azcardinals.com/team/coaches.html Grimm doesn't strike me as head coaching material. The more I learn about him, the more he seems like a back seat, wall flower type. I think the Bills need a more dynamic, demonstrative head coach who has a take charge kind of personality. Plus, I'm a little wary of someone who spent 10 years banging heads in the trenches and in that tough as nails division and conference. The NFC during the 80's was frightening. I started a thread yesterday about the NFL being a passing league. 6 out of the top 10 passing TD leaders are division leading QBs. The other two guys are Palmer and McNabb. While it's great to think of successful football as "establish the run first and play great defense" it's simply not the case in this day and age. They need to find a franchise QB, period end of story. The more I look at things the more I think the Bills should seriously consider targeting Sam Bradford, sit him for 2010 while building a cohesive line and letting him build up his strength and conditioning for the 2011 season. -
It's a "catching lightning in a bottle" scenario and perhaps groom Brohm for another year. Nothing about a long term answer obviously.
-
I forgot about Bradford. That's certainly an avenue (risky?) to a franchise QB. If the Bills had the opportunity (which they just might given that his injury issues could make him slip), and made a very huge roll of the dice on a guy like that, they should not even think of letting him play till 2011. By then the line should be settled. This is NOT an endorsement, merely a "what if" they selected Bradford...
-
It's my opinion. So I'll ask you, who is the franchise QB in the 2010 draft? ...and if there is indeed a franchise QB in this draft and the Bills are around the 10th slot, how on earth could they move up to draft him when there are teams in front of them that would no doubt need him?
-
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats/leaders...DS/2009/regular 6 of the 8 division leading QBs are in the top 10 of total passing TDs. The other 2 are 13th and 14th respectively. This is not good news considering there doesn't appear to be any franchise QBs in this coming draft and even if there were the Bills would have to give up plenty to move up to even have the opportunity to select him. The reason I'm posting this is that I've seen people wanting a running game oriented guy as a head coach. While it's VERY important to have a good running game, the BEST path to the playoffs is having a guy who can throw TD passes first and a good running game second. Having said all that, for success in 2010 we all had better hope that the Brian Brohm pickup was a major steal. Either that, or picking up a veteran QB like Collins, Garcia Bulger who can catch lightning in a bottle. For those that want to argue, ask yourself how many playoff teams have there been with crappy QB play in the last five or so years. Rex Grossman's Superbowl run was an anomaly plain and simple.

Exactly. Fox was a hot commodity five years ago, but when you've been an NFL coach as long as he has it's hard to make a case that he is anything but mediocre. Is this what we want as Bills fans after four Dick Jauron years???? King's opinion is worthless in that he's probably a closet Patriots fan (born in Springfield, MA). So I'm sure he'd want the Bills to remain a doormat by hiring Fox. Fox is a very good DC and that is what he should be doing in the NFL. I hope the Bills take a good look at Jim Harbaugh. He's got that in your face, chip on the shoulder attitude that would be perfect for what this team needs. I'm just not so sure he'd take the Bills job since he'll no doubt be one of the top NFL candidates by this time next year. Of course if Perry Fewell gets his Bills to beat the Patriots then I go back to hoping the Bills take a serious look at retaining him.

What 'fanboy' or 'hater' fans were the most annoying
1billsfan replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whoa...talk about your revisionist history. The Losman supporters were calling people idiots for predicting that he'd fail???? Oh please dude. I was smack dab in the middle of that fight and the constant barrage of personal attacks from the Losman haters was way over the top. That's when the tit for tat personal attacks happened. The Losman supporters' (like me) only argument was that he was a project and should at least be given the full 2007 season to see if he can finally get over the hump, given how much time was invested in him. Not once did I see a Losman supporter call someone an idiot for "predicting" Losman would fail. Losman was already failing at the time of the debate. Please get it right at least. -
It's hard to distinguish what his true role is with the Giants, but Gettleman was recommended for the Browns GM job by Ernie Accorsi. That's a pretty good endorsement in my book.
-
Love me some me... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?...=102234&hl= Giants are very good at finding LBs, OLs and DLs and the guy got his start during the crazy good Buffalo Bills years under Polian. He couldn't have come from a better run organization in the Giants. May not be flashy, but Gettleman is still my top choice for GM while admittedly not knowing any of these guys from a hole in the wall.

At the top of the hour while watching Neil Cavuto, filmmaker Phelim McAleer (dressed as a polar bear) was hit in the face with food while being interviewed in Copenhagen. He's the guy in the polar bear suit... http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2009/12/15/...ear-phil-jones/ and he's the guy who asked this inconvenient question to Al Gore... I wonder if Nancy (pass the bill so I can get to Copenhagen already) Pelosi will start crying over this violent behavior like she saw in the seventies.

That's a pretty dumb thing to find funny.

Losman was a project when he came to Buffalo. Turned out to be a major project. I never understood the hatred and anger because he never seemed to be a quitter. He did try his best. It appears that he has matured as a person and has made himself into a better QB after going to the UFL. I could definitely see Losman being a "late bloomer" type and become a top ten QB in this league. The odds are probably low, but the possibility is out there. No doubt we'll get to see him in action because of where he landed.
-
Hey, thanks for finding that needle in a haystack! Based on this one interview (which I think we can all agree is all that's needed), he will no doubt be a complete and utter failure as an NFL head coach. Seriously though, the Bills can't hire him if he doesn't posses a take charge mentality. We don't need another wall flower trying to be something he isn't like our last head coach. Now I'm NOT saying he doesn't posses the command and leadership skills, just saying that if there's a whiff of inauthenticity during the interview regarding these skills then they should quickly pass. BTW, Perry Fewell does posses the take charge skills. He needs to beat the Pats to really have a serious shot though.
-
I like the idea of Russ Grimm, but I'm afraid of whether or not he is too much of a wall flower to be an effective head coach. I've never even seen an interview of the guy. If he's a quiet, keep to himself type, then I don't think he'd be an effective head coach and I don't want the Bills to hire him. One of the things our new head coach needs to have is a dynamic, take charge mentality. Is Grimm like that? Who the heck knows. If he is then he should probably be a finalist for the job. Out of those three I'd say Billick (yuck, I can't believe I just said that), because he has that demonstrative personality, has actually won a Superbowl, has had successfull offenses as a coordinator and picked great defensive coordinators in Baltimore. He's a bit of a jerk, but out of those three I'd have to pick him not knowing anything about Russ Grimm. Martz is too flaky of a guy for my liking.

Rumors: Jauron to NYG, T.O. to SF
1billsfan replied to Craiger93's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a myth. Jauron had one decent season with the Jags, that's it. Those teams were led by their offense. I will laugh at the Giants if they foolishly make him their defensive coordinator. I seriously wouldn't even hire him as a position coach.
