Tim Hasselback, seriously? I honestly don't know how people can still watch ESPN. Over the years, every now and then I'll turn to it only to quickly realize how stupid the people are on it and flip to another channel. The last time I regularly watched ESPN was back in the 90s.

Some real reasons to be angry at Obama
1billsfan replied to ....lybob's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Remember when 60 minutes and The Washington Post used to report on stories like this one? I think that Obama could literally kill someone on the White House lawn and the mainstream media would provide cover for him. It's really sick considering so many have died for the rights, freedoms and liberties of this country only to have these rights spat upon by them remaining silent or squelching stories for political reasons. There's a good reason why they've lost so many viewers and need financial support from Soros... http://thepartyofknow.com/2011/05/18/foxwhy-is-soros-spending-over-48-million-funding-media-organizations/ -
I don't recall that at all. I remember everyone being greatful for the regime change, but that it would take a couple of years and getting rid of Edwards before they would turn it around. I do remember the smattering of Edwards' supporters who still believed in him and were excited to see him shine under Gailey. Obviously I was not one of them and was really ticked when Fitzpatrick wasn't going to be the starter.
-
Sorry, but I don't remember anyone here thinking the Bills would have a good season let alone getting upset over where they were ranked. You had to be one of a very few group of Bills fans who thought they were any good. I was expecting a 4 or 5 win season myself.
-
Not only are they a tight group, but they obviously have a ton of confidence in each other. It's the reason why I think the Bills will have a 9 win season. Half the battle of having a good team is players believing in each other. If you compare the level of belief last year to this year and it clearly looks like a 180 degree turnaround.
-
I know nothing will change your perceptions of last year's game, but I'm looking forward seeing the Bills beat them in the 2011 season opener. Well, of course that's if they play the game.
-
Huh? I wouldn't call the Chiefs' 247 yards running the football bad. Just as I wouldn't call our offense getting 23 first downs and converting a last minute drive touchdown pass on the road, sending the game into overtime (in a place that has been a house of horrors for our team going back more than twenty years) a bad effort. I'm amazed at Bills fans looking for Fitzpatrick style points on the road in Kansas City. That was a well played game by him. Obviously it went completely over a lot of fans' heads.
-
So the Bills had a bad defense, a bad running game, a bad QB...yet they still found themselves in overtime on the road no less. That's a pretty amazing feat.
-
They act as if Fitzpatrick was the guy holding them back when the exact opposite was true...LOL I was just pointing out all of the factors of that game so as to put in perspective Fitzpatrick's good performance. I've already listed them earlier in the thread and repeated my points in replies, so you can look them over and if you still disagree with my stance then I guess I can just put you in the "agree to disagree" column. You can score 10 points and still be considered to have a good game. Especially when the rest of your teammates were pretty much useless that day.
-
You do know that stats don't always tell you how good of a game a player had. Cassel's "team" ran for 247 yards. Do you not think that that had a little something to do with his passing success? If Fitzpatrick wasn't good, why then were the Bills in overtime of a game on the road in one of the toughest places to play? Was it their defense keeping them in that game? Was it their running game? No, it was Ryan Fitzpatrick who kept them in that game. Did he have a great game? No, but given the circumstances of Fitzpatrick having zero help he did provide a good enough performance to drag his team into overtime. Given the circumstances, it was a B+ performance stats be damned.
-
Are you on crack? Don't be mad because I smacked down this moronic notion of yours that Fitzpatrick had a horrible game in Kansas City. He didn't, in fact he was one of the only guys on the Bills keeping them in that game. A game which went into overtime in one of the hardest places to play. I give Fitzpatrick a solid B+ considering the circumstances of the non-existent run defense and offense. You are so ridiculous, it's amazing that I'm the only one calling you out on this. The only purpose they serve is to get hits on websites from fans being ticked off at where their team was ranked...LOL
-
In the NFL, power rankings are foolish once you get past 11 or 12 because IMO there's not much difference between the mid to back-of-the-pack teams. Actually, NFL power rankings are pointless to begin with...LOL
-
Hmmmmm....can you please get your facts straight before you post? ...or maybe math isn't your strong point, which if that's the case then I'd suggest that you get out of the stats business that you love to selectively wallow in. He started 10 games after the bye week, not 9. He had a 80 QB rating in those 10 games after the bye week, not 70. He had 16 TDs after the bye, not 12. Ok, lets talk about the Kansas City game... …a game where Fitzpatrick led the offense to 23 first downs …a game where our defense got run on on to the tune of 274 yards …a game where Fitzpatrick was asked to throw the ball 48 times …a game where Fitzpatrick rushed for 43 yards …a game where Fitzpatrick led the Bills' offense to a game tying TD pass drive, on the road, in one of the hardest places to play in the NFL What, you're angry that Fitzpatrick wasn't Superman that day? To rip Fitzpatrick's performance that day, which you continue to do over and over again, is to tell everyone that you know nothing about football.
-
You need only remember what they did after last year's bye week.... Eight quality games… Ravens, Chiefs, Bears, Lions, Bengals, Steelers, Browns, Dolphins Two bad games… Vikings, Patriots and one glorified exhibition game… Jets This is a team with veterans at key positions who won't have to relearn a new system, who have a QB who won't be coming in cold off the bench but will have an entire training camp with the first team and to be ready week 1 against the Chiefs. Also, with the addition of Wannstedt as a defensive coach and Dareus who will help greatly at stopping the run, this team is poised to be one of the "surprise" teams in 2011. I think they've got a real NFL team brewing here.
-
I think the Bills will be a surprise team and get to 9 wins this year. They have a good mix of veterans at key positions, have just added a good wealth of talent on defense, finally have good coaching, and they seem like they have developed a close "team" attitude. The fans and "experts" may not seem to have noticed this, but I'll bet the players and coaches on the other NFL teams have.
-
This is not only not a fact, but it's also one of the dumbest statements ever made on this board. McNabb was and is a west coast "system" QB who made his numbers off of checking down to his RB, Brian Westbrook. He is no where near the class of QB that Jim Kelly is in. McNabb would never in a million years be able to do what Kelly did if given the same weapons. He simply has never possessed the downfield bomb threat the Kelly did. McNabb would have been a useless player on that team. I don't get why people are so enamored by west coast QB numbers. You can say that McNabb was the best "system" QB ever (btw, you could also say that he's the most over rated QB ever), but to compare him with a real Hall of Fame QB like Jim Kelly is insane. There's a reason why McNabb will never see the Hall of Fame without buying a ticket.
-
What the boxer said was just stupid. As far as his career goes, I think Donavan McNabb is this generation's Danny White. While McNabb did have more starting seasons that White, White would have had the same amount of winning seasons with no titles if given the opportunities McNabb had. Plus, the guy had huge "rabbit ears" in the worst city to have them. I'm sure his constant hurt feelings act grew very tiring to the rough and tumble philly fans. It always seemed like he never got over being booed on draft day and he carried that over throughout his career there. As far as today goes...stick a fork in him, he's done.

Drew Brees received just over 550K from NFLPA
1billsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OH YEAH, try telling that to Dawkins, Richardson and Mawae!!!!...LOL You can't put toothpaste back into the tube. Drew Brees is turning out to be the biggest money grubbing loser in this whole NFL mess. I remember reading a PFT article where Brees basically tells the NFL alumni who are poor and down on their luck to go scratch. Mr. Katrina hero will now looked upon as Mr. Greedy by not only the fans, but his professional peers. -
I don't look at this season as a whole. I look at those first 6 games before the bye and think "what if"... 1. BUF @ KC - winnable game that will truly set the tone for what kind of season the Bills will have 2. OAK @ BUF - win 3. NE @ BUF - if the Bills do beat the Chiefs and Raiders, this Pats game's outcome will tell the fans and the NFL world if the Bills are for real or not. probably a loss, but "what if"... 4. BUF @ CIN - win 5. PHI @ BUF - 4-0 team and having beat the Pats? Bills would probably be favored here 6. BUF @ NYG - 5-0? yeah, they'd probably be due for a loss out of conference and away from home The Bills need to go all out to win that KC game. If they somehow beat the Pats and are 3-0 heading into the Cincy game, holy cow this play would be crazy. A lot of "if"s I know, but I can see it happening.

Rashard Mendenhall loses endorsement deal

If only there were more people with "adult" thoughts like your hating on Americans who thank our troops. Congratulations, you might have just topped Mendenhall on the stupidity meter with that comment. Please do us all a favor and move to Iran, where then maybe you could begin to generate an appreciation for the American troops. -
Rashard Mendenhall loses endorsement deal
1billsfan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, "using your rights" and "keeping your endorsement and/or job" are not in the least bit mutually linked. Would you support a white broadcaster keeping his job who twitted the "N" word? How about endorsing sex with sheep? I truly feel sorry for people like you who think 911 was a conspiracy. What is so amazing is that you all feel that Bush was the biggest idiot to walk the planet, yet could somehow be that AND be able to pull off the biggest conspiracy in history of flying two jumbo jets into the World Trade Center Buildings and killing thousands of Americans. Oh, and that wasn't enough for the Evil Bush, he had another jet that went into the Pentagon and one that was supposed to go into the Capital. Yeah, the World Trade Center being reduced to rubble simply wasn't enough for this maniacal bastard George W. Bush. Yo dude, if you were smart and just listen to Bush speak for just five minutes. You'd come to the realization that the guy is not the evil mastermind of all time that you dolts believe him to be. Seriously, we sane people laugh at you guys. If I were the owner of the Steelers, he'd be off the team as soon as I was allowed to do business again. -
Would You Take 8-8 or 3-13 and the #1 Pick in '12?
1billsfan replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are three scenarios that will play out next year... Scenario #1: The best scenario is that Fitzpatrick throws for over 30 TDs while leading the team to a winning record and a possible playoff birth. Fitzpatrick establishes himself "top 8" franchise type QB in the league. Someone who was just a late bloomer and who has everything you need in a QB who can win you a championship or two. Scenario #2: The team finishes with a 7 or 8 win season with Fitzpatrick having a decent season with over 20 TDs, but he doesn't solidify franchise QB status. Scenario #3: The team finishes with a 4 to 6 win season and Fitzpatrick has proven himself as not being the QB who will lead this team to future glory. Scenario #1 would be awesome and is something I still consider a serious possibility. Scenarios #2 or #3 will mean the Bills are most probably selecting a QB with their first pick in the 2012 draft. -
New England Could have Drafted a Clip Board Holder
1billsfan replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Pats were just plain stupid not to move and to get Quinn, Fairley or Watt. Hmmmm...keep the 3rd round pick and draft Mallett or use it in a trade up in the first to rebuild a nothing pass rush...LOL Brady has got to be pissed about this draft. Solder needs to bulk up, no help on defense, they draft a QB which is of no help to you winning a championship, 2 RBs. -
I like how it went down. No drone attack. It's too bad they couldn't have taken him alive up for a helicopter ride and dropped him at a couple thousand feet.
