  1. If Fletcher goes a week WITHOUT making at least two retarded plays, then that might be reason to start a discussion.... Otherwise, it is sadly nothing out of the ordinary.
  2. You know, I've been arguing against the idea that our record would be better under TC for a couple of weeks, but I'm really having 2nd thoughts now; especially after seeing stupid mistake after stupid mistakes over and over and over and over and over again. It's gotten to the point where I can't even cheer for a 20 yard pass anymore b/c I know we'll screw it up. And if you watched last year's Giants - they were basically a mirror image of the current Bills. Pretty good skill position talent, pretty good statistics, able to move the ball between the 20's, but just kill themselves with penalties & turnovers; and find improbable ways to lose games each week. I don't think it's a coincidence that those things aren't happening anymore in NJ. I don't have a huge problem with Mularkey's playcalling like some others do, but it would be nice to see him slam his headset to the ground and get in somebody's face - whether it be a player, a ref, a fan, the water boy, somebody.
  3. Exactly....I'm a patient guy, but it's really wearing thin. Not because of my own expectations, but the timetable we've been hearing all along is October '04 he should be around 95%. It's October '04. Is he even on the roster still? Or is he hanging out with the ESPN Dreamjob winner in the witness protection program? TD needs to go back to ESPN where he belongs. Maybe they can pay him instead of the other way around. Anybody else notice how much Pasquarelli and everybody kisses his butt religiously? They were quick to write articles about him when we were 2-0 last year, but nothing to be found since.
  4. Yeh, he needs to stop going down so easily. It's not like there's a 16 year old girl in front of him.
  5. Do most of you have Sunday Ticket, or do you go out? I definitely have to get DirecTV next year. The bars in Philly absolutely suck. Stop advertising Sunday Ticket when you're going to show the stinking Eagles on 3 TV's in the same room. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Eagles fans. Explain to me the logic of going to a bar when the game is on TV at home? Seriously, I want to know. I hope TO breaks his leg during the bye week. There, I needed to vent some more.
  6. Agreed.....Fletcher and Henry can take a hike.
  7. Ah yes, the same replay angle that showed Sean Jefferson in bounds in 1998. What about Fletcher's "illegal hit on Brady's shoulder pads"? What about Given's fumble at the end of the first half that wasn't called? He was down, but was not touched by a Bills player. That drive led to 7 points. Of course, the one call that went in favor of the Bills makes up for all that
  8. Kudos to ESPN for actually showing that play on Primetime - I didn't think they'd have the stones. If Dillon had somehow broken that tackle and dove across the goaline, do you think they would've ruled him "down by contact" at the 3? I guarantee they wouldn't have.
  9. This team is actually WORSE than I thought. Sure there were some horsecrap calls, but officiating aside, we actually got way more breaks than usual. Kickoff return for a TD, botched punt resulting in a TD drive, NE fumble inside our 5.... And we STILL lose by 2 TD's at home? I don't know if this team is capable of winning a game.
  10. I hear you. I mean, Sunday evenings are bad enough as it is with the dreaded work week on the horizon.....but pouring my heart & emotions into these losers is just making me too depressed. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Problem is, I don't really like any teams in the NFC that are any good. Maybe the Packers, but they suck now too. Eagles would've been a good choice in 2000, but after living here for a couple of years, their fans make me want to puke. Seattle? Do they even know what football is in Seattle? Atlanta is a terrible sports town.... When does college hoops start? Go Cuse in '05.
  11. Just as I said after the Jacksoville game, Drew played as well as he is capable.....and still played medicore. I suspect that we'll see the "Oakland Drew" on the road next week. Maybe a lot of things weren't his fault, but what about the 1st possession 3rd&goal? Did he think Josh Reed was Yao Ming? And can you envision Brady misfiring that badly in those circumstances with virtually no pass-rush?
  12. Lets lay off of Schobel. Despite the fact that like every other player on the team - he can't make a play when it matters - he did generate a pretty good rush against Spurrier's run & gun last year when we had a 17 pt lead with 5 minutes left. Wouldn't it be nice if management rewarded these kind of inconsequential, "non-clutch" performances in other professions? Say you're a financial analyst and the boss walks into your office: "Well Bob, you really screwed the company with that annual report projection, but we're going to give you a raise because you correctly estimated the cost of my turkey sandwich last week".
  13. I thought the Syracuse secondary was the worst bunch of DB's I've ever seen, but I don't think there'd be a dropoff if we replaced Wire with one of them... Did we really draft this guy or was that a joke?
  14. Too bad Henry can't keep his feet on any clutch play that matters. It's pick your poison with this offense. A dramatic improvement, and yet still a pultry 10 points. Get McGahhe in the game. P.S. - London Fletcher and Coy Wire are the biggest losers in Pro sports.
  15. No, we have to win. I doubt Jax or Oakland want a rematch either, but that's no consolation for losing.
  16. I hear you man. I was going to start Tennessee's D on opening day over Baltimore's b/c they were playing Miami, but chickened out which really cost me... This past week I sat Derrick Mason against a tough D in favor of Javon Walker vs. the Colts awful D.....I'd say that worked out ok - 200 yards, 3 TD's for Walker.
  17. Well, I took down a couple of $50 pots at the lowly $1/2 tables last night.... You know what cheers me up when I'm feeling down? Rolled up jacks over queens. Also, I love it when there's 4 diamonds on the board and people keep raising me when I have the nut flush Speaking of which, has anybody gotten the new Rounders DVD yet?
  18. Not a very appealing board this week. Though I'm generally not a fan of road favorites, Philly -9 @ Chicago looks like the best bet. The Bears are banged up not just at QB, but 3/4 of their secondary I think is out. Plus, the Eagles are an excellent road team under Andy Reid. The only other game I'd even think about touching this week is Tampa +3 vs. Denver. As anemic as the Bucs' offense has looked, I like Gruden at home getting points vs. Jake Plummer laying points on the road. ps - Sport's guy is hilarious. His parody of McGuire & Theismann this week is a classic. If he wasn't a Boston guy, I'd be plugging his articles every day here.
  19. Jake Plummer is awful. Wouldn't be surprised to see them lose to Tampa.
  20. Have you ever won a tourney? I want to try that because I know there's more skill involved, but I also know there's a lot more math involved, which I've yet to master. Do you just play super-aggressive? What if you get pocket 9's early on, do you go all in?
  21. Sorry if there have been threads on this already. How many of you guys play, and at what sites? I've played at Party and Ultimate Bet, but have been sticking with Paradise lately because of the "independant shuffling review" they apparantly have. Haven't noticed much of a difference. Does anybody think the cards are rigged? I've won back everything I lost early on when I started. Still, the cards seem really fishy at times. At least half the flops are either 3 suited cards, or a pair on the board....stuff that just doesn't happen as often in "live" games. One more running two pair or trip 5's on the river when I have AA and I'm going to light myself on fire. Also, what stakes do you play? I consistently win at .50/1.00 but every time I step it up to higher stakes it's not so good.
  22. "They have two really good returners in [Terrance] McGee and [Nate] Clements. Those guys have had a lot of big returns. Their numbers aren’t that high because they have gotten a couple of longs ones called back which it is kind of hard to find what they were calling them back for." Sorry, couldn't help but notice this.
  23. The more NFL I watch, the more I like Norv Turner's offensive philosophy of pounding the ball and throwing downfield. Screw the short passing game that everyone likes....especially when you're a penalty prone team, especially as much as the refs like to call interference, especially when you're playing a defense with good LB's who try to confuse you in the intermediate range, and especially when you have a QB who can't throw a 6 yard out. It'd be nice if McGahee and/or Evans are noticably on the field. Defensively, it goes without saying we need to play lights out. I say have an "aggresive conservative" gameplan. Keep it simple and don't blitz much with their dink&dunk offense. Challenge Dillon to run on them against 7 man fronts. But do take a page out of their playbook by getting physical w/ their midget WR's at the line of scrimmage. They are young&quick though - might want to give Vincent some help.
  24. No kidding - Terry Glenn grabs the DB's jersey and it's PI against the defense. Cowboys DB grabs the WR's jersey and there's no call. It's one thing be a horrible ref, but they could at least be consistently horrible for both teams. It's really frustrating to watch as a football fan, and I don't even care who wins. These refs are a complete joke. It must be nice to consistently suck and not have to worry about losing your job.
  25. No wonder they call the paper the "Sub Standard". What a bunch of hack reporters in 'Cuse. After all this time, NOBODY has figured out what's happened to this guy? Not a peep out of anybody on campus, a friend, a roomate, a professor? Nothing?
