  1. I don't disagree at all; though I'd simplify by saying he hasn't won enough as a HC. Bellichek wins a lot, so he's "unflappable"
  2. The Chargers to me seem to be tailor made for an experienced (ie retread) coach given they're ready to win now and can't really afford to have a coach go thru any growing pains... Of course that being the case I'd much rather have Schottenheimer than Turner.
  3. Yah that's what I mean! I guess I don't remember that playoff game; must've been Washington vs. crappy NFC wildcard team in the late 90's?
  4. Yeah he did a bad job in NY & Minny and neither was much less talented than his unit in Buffalo... it seems very reasonable to conclude that his success here was largely due to Wade.
  5. Well at least he doesn't choke in the playoffs.
  6. Totally agree. I don't hate McGahee as much as some others, but if it's one or the other Clements is the easy choice. In terms of importance RB is just the most overrated position in sports.
  7. Surprised it took so long; I remember my Native American English Prof. talking about that in the Spring of '99. I wrote an anti-pc paper on the subject and needless to say got like a D or something
  8. Except that they never had a 1st round bye much less a #1 seed when Montana was there and they beat a Houston team that had won 12 games in a row on the road to get to Buffalo and his #1 seed teams were led by Elvis Grbak? Pretty amazing that anybody thinks the Chargers will be better because of this.
  9. Yeah AJ is a good personnel guy but he sounds like a huge spazz. I know it's fashionable to bash Marty and all but it's impossible for me to believe they'll find a better coach at this point, much less assemble a decent staff.
  10. You sure the Giants aren't playing the Patriots the day after the London game?
  11. I'll be the 3rd or 4th to 2nd this.
  12. It's great that you pretend like I'm the spin-doctor when you're the one pulling a selective sample of games out of thin air. "My way" is looking at his entire career, which I don't think is unfair seeing as though he had two full seasons under his belt by the time he played his first play postseason game. He has had more than 2 bad games - that's a fact and that's all I was responding to.
  13. I'm surprised they actually picked real surprise teams instead of the usual "sleepers who aren't really sleepers because everyone else is picking them" (like Miami & Arizona this yr). Tennessee will probably become this team by July or so.
  14. Yeah you can take away his two worst games from a selective time period and make his stats look good. You can also take away the two Denver games from his whole postseason career and make them look bad.
  15. Yeah, well that's blatantly false.
  16. I vote Brady next.
  17. "We care about black people" - Doritos
  18. I have to admit James Brown unintentionally interrupting/destroying Randy Cross' Iraq troop segment made for some quality entertainment.
  19. Same, I was 8. No idea why I wanted the 49ers to win that and the following year.
  20. Feels like an Arby's night.
  21. I was flipping over to that throughout the 1st half of the AFC title game during commercials. Very nice; I was sad when she got eliminated.
  22. Woah - lets not get crazy here. Ha, yeah it's pretty lame. Sad thing is it actually works on the players; or else coaches wouldn't preach it all the time.
  23. I'm not one to hold a grudge (have always liked Parcells) but I thought that was kinda lame myself; as he also went on to quasi-brag about making the 2nd round in Miami 2 years in a row with marginal talent. 1998 we all know the wildcard game should've been in Buffalo if not for "just give it to 'em" and they still barely won with 8 gazillion Bills turnovers. 1999 they backdoored in to a 9-7 #6 seed and were lucky enough to play 9-7 Seattle, who was one of the worst division champions in league history (2004 Seattle and 2006 Seattle are also up there) while 11-5 Buffalo played a 13-3 wildcard team. Man, just recapping this reminds me of what insanely bad luck we had in those days. Basically though the guy wasn't any more successful than Wandsteadt in Miami, who actually won a couple division titles. Unfortunately Wanny though all anybody remembers is his last disastrous season which was pretty much doomed from the start due to external factors.
  24. By DiBiase/Rotundo you mean "Money, Inc." right? I'm partial to them because they were the champs when I first got into it (92-93?). Awesome gimmick w/ IRS and bonus points for being from Syracuse. Hall/Nash were really good too; though there was a lot of unrealized potential with them. It's weird; some of you guys are making me feel young (26) but when I watch these NWO youtube clips it's like "WTF that was 11 years ago?" What happened to this last decade?
