  1. Yeah this board is embarrassing sometimes. OMFG we have to go to Cleveland in week 15?! So rigged!
  2. Wade was the coach of that Denver team too!
  3. Yeah that was total Godfather.
  4. Game 1? 2-6 on VS....sweet
  5. Don't worry, Yahoo says yur in
  6. Quoted for truth. I agree that Mort's mancrush on TD is too much and I don't pay much attention to him anymore. But to be fair he was one of the few national pundits who didn't buy into the Dolphins/Marino hype every year in the 90's and gave us our due back then. Peter King picked us to be in the SB a few years ago. Nobody ever cares if they're optimistic and wrong or pessimistic and right; they're only idiots if they're pessimistic and wrong (which was commonplace in the 90's but hasn't happened in 8 years). In the end who cares.
  7. Kelso - i'm sure you know this but Moulds was on the pine his first two years. His '98 season was unbelievably sick if you go by the 'yds per attempt' and all that stuff that football outsiders uses that was mentioned in this chat (which I do cause it's the best).
  8. Yah, go optimism. It's not like being nervous/scared has been a good omen for us fans in the past, so why not? A Devils fan on another board told me that Brodeur has really only "stolen" one series in his career (2003 vs. Ottowa). I'm not sure how true that is, but I don't see much of reason to really fear anybody. Lots of people are sweating Ottowa, but they're just a poor man's version of Buffalo, and not as good as last year to boot. Winning at least 1 road game in every series shouldn't be too much of a problem...I just hope they can re-capture last year's postseason home dominance.
  9. You sound like the Roethlisburger haters who "forgot" there were 3 playoff games prior to the SB.
  10. True. Wasn't the East back then kind of like this year's NFC though?
  11. Totally agree; and I usually agree w/ O'Reilly.
  12. That was surprisingly a pretty good thread.
  13. Who would you say is a good example today of a "rather good" back who helps his team win games? Just curious because, IMO, the difference between a good and average back is the players around him (and no I don't think this nearly as true for other positions). I guess my point is if he's something between great and crappy (which is pretty likely) I think there should be more than a small consideration for possible alternatives in terms of evaluating the trade. BTW I didn't know anyone was shopping Stephen Alexander for a 2nd
  14. For sure. I think even that's a bit much for a guy who hasn't proven much at a position that isn't that important to begin with. A 2nd & a 3rd is excessive. A 1st and a 3rd is laughable even on Madden.
  15. Yeah we're all interested in Walker for obvious reasons but the final result really hinges on Spikes. If he comes close to reverting to his old form it's a D or F. If he's Sam Cowart version II it's a solid B unless Walker is a total dud.
  16. That may be, but I have to give him credit for bringing up the ultra-bust that was the '95 Dolphins.
  17. I had A&M in my FF too but the refs got it right. No excuse for losing a virtual home game in that spot. Also had Tennessee upsetting tOSU Thurs. night (who should've lost to Xavier to begin with). Now I have to listen to all the donkeys who pick chalk every year & never win brag about how they picked 7 of 8 E8 teams
  18. People who leave shopping carts in parking lots ought to be shot IMO.
  19. Nice job by Arkansas - imagine if they played a team that was actually deserving of a #5 seed. What a F&*#ing joke.
  20. The helmets & home outfit are cool. The dark pants look ugly on the white jerseys though just as they do w/ every team that tries it.
  21. Yah seriously. Most uni changes are for the worst, but the Giants/Jets retro looks are nice.
  22. To be fair that was a lame foul call vs. Clemson (who also got screwed @Duke)... I agree though - the committee dumbass said Stanford's injuries worked in their favor - it's so lame how they selectively enforce different criteria for random teams.
  23. Yeah I don't get how Nova was more deserving either (apparantly 1 non-conf. home game vs. Texas trumps 1,000 other factors). But they deserve to be in so my beef really isn't w/ them. The stuff about "unbalanced conf. schedules" is garbage too b/c it's not consistent: Illinois only played Ohio St & Wisc once (and lost both at home), Arkansas only played Fla once, Cuse didn't play Rutgers or Seton Hall at all, but they get punished for only playing G'town once (the fact that they beat them soundly is just an afterthought I guess). It's just a joke by any reasonably objective measurement tool. L'ville got a gift in location but I OTOH think Texas A&M is by far the best #3 seed...Oregon @Spokane is basically a road game for you guys though.
  24. In the grand scheme of "body of work"; margin of defeat in your conf. tourney is way down the list. I don't see your beef w/ being put on the same line as L'ville given their road wins @Pitt & Marquette. Re: Duke I agree. Not sure how Mich St. & Marquette were seen as equals either in the 8-9 game...overall the Big East got hosed for the 2nd yr in a row.
