  1. Gottlieb is a retard, but I can't put the blame on him or espn. Last night on College Gamenight they did the "longest 'in or out'" segment of the year. 'Cuse wasn't even one of the teams brought up, because everyone "knew" they were in.
  2. Marquette & Providence may not be Kansas & UCLA; but that's 2 better road wins than those Big 10 teams had all year.
  3. I was going to mock you for saying this. Purdue & Mich. St a 9? Illinois? These teams beat NOBODY on the road all year and struggled to finish .500 in a garbage conference. What a joke
  4. ~4.5 hours away; can't wait. Looks like Kansas, Fla, UNC, and tOSU/Wisc winner will get #1 seeds; or UCLA if UNC/Fla loses. Bubble teams everywhere currently rooting hard for UNC/Fla to beat NC St./Arkansas.
  5. Kelly, I agree. I think it'd be funny to go back and read all the stuff many of the same people said about him in 2004 (he's the savior). Apparantly as recently as then he was regarded as a 4.0 student & model teammate. Admittadly I was one who questioned his heart down the stretch of '05, but I don't know what last yr's accusations are based on. I guess nobody noticed him destroy 2 free blitzers in Miami on the same play, or stone a Jags defender twice his size on a blitz pickup when he was hurt, but "zomg he must a block vs. the Jets and I happened to see the replay; he must not care!"
  6. Wasn't he injured more than half the year?
  7. Lee Evans had some injury problems too. I'd say the lesson is don't spend a 1st rd pick on a relatively unimportant position when your defense stinks.... Seems like a lot of people still want to go RB next month though
  8. Well congrats to ND - beat us twice on hostile turf this yr... Looks like we'll be wearing orange in the 1st round of the NCAA's but I still like the way we're playing now.
  9. Woot, in the Big Dance now 4sure.
  10. But he didn't make any dumb Toronto remarks! Really though, carries are a lot more important than years re: RB's. Thomas Jones has been around a while but probably hasn't taken the beating Lewis has.
  11. I don't really get the Graham love. Isn't he like the designated Butch Role playfake guy on the 1yd line? Must be a good blocker I guess...
  12. Winfield and it's not close. If it wasn't for Clements taking Brady's head off in 2001 (which I saw live) I'd say he's a fairly marginal tackler.
  13. You obviously missed the news that we re-signed Chris Kelsay
  14. RB is the last position in the world that needs grooming.
  15. Good thing the Skins are playing them next year.
  16. This is so unrelated to the discussion it's absurd. Like if I had replaced McNair w/ Rothlisburger that would change anything? Who cares? To say Bettis wasn't featured is an understatement. Antowain Smith > LT? You're clearly arguing for arguing sake at this point.
  17. Which guys I mentioned? You mean like LT? Not sure what you're arguing here. I like the chances that the team that wins the SB next year and the year after has "a guy they just get by with" just like every other champion since the '99 Rams and every team in the league today not nicknamed the Chargers.
  18. I agree QB's to a certain extent are "all or nothing". RB def. not IMO. I mean LT is "all", the Jets have "nothing", but the vast majority of teams are pretty much like the Bills @RB where you have a guy you can win with, but can't take over a game. Lets just forget about Manning & Brady who are incredibly rare. Take Carson Palmer who most consider the 3rd best QB and compare him to the ~16th or average - lets just say Steve McNair for argument sake. The difference between these guys is pretty big - probably worth around 2 wins per year. When you compare the 3rd vs. 16th best RB in the league is there that much of a difference? I'd say no way in hell. I mean, if Rudi Johnson & Kevin Jones switched teams without telling anybody I doubt anyone would notice any difference at all. Not sure if this makes any sense in print but that's the best I can think to articulate it.
  19. Agreed. Every position has a higher success rate in the early rounds. Off the top of my head the SB winning RB's this decade have been Jammal Lewis, Antowain Smith, Forgot-his-first-name Pittman, Antowain Smith, Corey Dillion, Willie Parker, Joeseph Addai.... I realize there are some mediocre QB's in that same time-frame too, but there's a reason why the salaries go QB > LT > DL > RB
  20. Ugh, I haven't seen either St. John's game this yr but they seem to be a tough matchup.
  21. Yeah Gotlieb is such a tool. I don't fault anyone for thinking they were out of the tournament before last night (I would've agreed) but the constant cheap shots are so lame... "In the last 4 years they've only played X true road games outside NYS" - I mean WTF? What does their non-conference schedule 3 yrs ago have to do w/ their tourney chances this yr? I still think we need 1 more win to seal the deal. I'll be at the Nova game Saturday.
  22. Who are these people?
  23. Didn't he average like ~3.2 ypc the last time he was a feature back in '04? No thanks.
  24. Ya think? There are 32 GM's in the league who value CB's more than RB's of equal ability and it's not even close. Of course Pacman is a better player too. OP, That trade proposal is a joke...not even realistic for Madden 2007.
  25. What about Jonathan Linton, Derrick Holmes & Tim Tindale?!!
