  1. Looming out there is the contract situation with Cordy Glenn.......and the huge contract that are going to have to be given to Marcel, Gilmore, etc etc

One of two things really need to happen here

    - Henderson really needs to work out...he has the physical abiility (a very good athlete for a OL) to be the LT of the future......if Kujo sticks I really think it is gonna have to be at RT......because we have our 1st round pick back again and we really need to be aggressive in aquiring a QB early

    0r

    - It happens the way everyone is hoping that it happens........EJ Manuel actually rounds into form this year......Tyrod Taylor shows enough to stick at the back spot........and we are able to draft a OT in the first round of next years draft......

I of course hope that BOTH of these things happen........

  2. "played" well I guess he did play...why are there 20 plus articles on why he didn't play hard last year??? Why did Sammy admit after the season that he didn't play hard? Just saying...watch enough replay and you'll see him not fight for balls and drop down Tim brown style before the hit....facts....I know he was hurt now. Back then I was really wondering why....doesn't make him tough to play hurt if he plays like a baby.

well can you read?? I named the possible losses in both posts...try reading.

I don't get it....nice defense of your weird position.

why it's math...you shake your head at math? Ok. Care to explain your flame?i

Im just gonna punch myself in the face.....i read another one of your posts by accident.

  3. My God in heaven.

Dude for the millionth time, I never said EJ is bust. I don't think EJ is a bust. Does anyone actually read what I write? Not that I think that what I write is that important but we are in a forum here and people keep telling me what I think when they could very easily take the time to read what I think. It's all there for ya folks.

For the record, all I have maintained over and over and over again is that I think it's less than likely that Manuel develops into a reliable franchise QB, we re-sign him and he is our clear cut starter opening day 2017. In fact, only two people have said that they disagree with me on this and that they think he will be- LB get ball and Bills fan 4 life. So basically, until I hear otherwise, everyone agrees with me. Do you think he will be?

And that article is extremely short-sighted. "EJ was 2-2..." Yeah he was. But I don't recall anyone on here having an issue with him being benched after the Houston game! I don't think anyone including myself thought or thinks that was the end of his career but Bills fans (myself included) kinda wanted to win football games last year, as they always do. They were not winning in Detroit with EJ Manuel, everyone knew it, Kyle Orton played pretty well, they won, everyone was happy. It was the right move then, it was the right move now. Did anyone want them to re-insert Manuel after the Detroit game!?! And I have even gone on record saying that I was advocating to put Manuel back in later in the season after Orton began to suck too. Please, PLEASE do not put words in my mouth.

You might have some that are saying they think he will be a franchise QB.......

I personally think that given the circumstances since EJ's entrance into the NFL.....there is no way of making a educated guess on this at this time

    - He shows periods of bad

    - He shows flashes of good

    - His coaching has been subpar

Basically he shows what a QB coming into the league with less then a season worth of starts should show.......and you further add to that that he was drafted based off being a winner in college and having all the physical attributes but still a very unfinished product.

He was handled all wrong....he should have NEVER been asked to shoulder the load that first year whether Kolb went down or not......

There are some things here I want to see about EJ this year (and I STILL no matter what feel that we should draft a QB high next year)

    - How does he look in training camp? It starts in less then a week now.......because he looked AWEFUL last year in camp

    - He said that he learned a lot sitting behind Orton (which is a good thing) about preparation and how to handle an NFL huddle.......lets see if that translates over

  4. So you got one guy (Gugny) saying that the Bills run game was "dominant" in the Houston game and another one here saying it was "s**t." At one point can we all just agree that EJ Manuel played startlingly bad against the Houston Texans last fall. Forget about everything else for a second, take a deep breath and just admit it. But Marro- stop. Just come to terms with it. Does the Houston game alone prove that he is inept. NO! But let's stop trying to defend the poor guy's performance in the Houston game.

Sorry Metz....I dont agree that he played "startingly" bad

What you have is a QB that was in the starting position of a 2-1 team going into that game.......the game where he really did not play well was against the chargers.....along with the rest of the team

THen he throw 2 picks (one of which should have been pass interference) but I digress....his head coach panicked.....and the rest is history.

  5. His first 14 games were in his rookie year. He continued to elevate in his second year. So yes, he got more games after his first 14, and proved more. Then he got another 16 and proved even more. It's a direct relationship between Ryan Tannehill's positive performances, and how many games he's played.

You do realize that in Tanny's initial years he had people talking about whether he would ever be a legit starting QB........do you remember that talk? Coming from the teams own fans to

  6. Called customer retention yesterday I have been a DTV customer since nearly the start up of the company .....had two objectives

    - Free NFL sunday ticket.....I had gotten free basic NFL Sunday Ticket the last 3 years

    - My daughter is having a baby and we have spent the last 6 months preparing a room in our house for them.......my daughter didnt want any money spent on her so she was going to run a cord so she could watch some tv while she was in the room DTV had been charging everyone we know a additional 30 a month for another box.

Got through to retention pretty easily.....sat there and shot the SHIAT with the guy for like 20 minutes having a good time....by the time it was down I had enough credits for NFL Sunday Ticket Max to be free (and then some) and the mini game genie for my daughters room for 5 dollars a month extra (paid for a while by the additional credits on my account)

I think I did well......the Max Sunday Ticket should be fun

  7. Dude come on man. Our running game wasn't that good, our defense played well and Fitzpatrick wasn't that good. Our o-line did suck, I'll give you that. And there were a few passes that should've been caught. But I don't only remember the Watt play. I also remember that Woods was targeted 12 times and had 3 catches for 17 yards. I'm trying to let this die but EJ Manuel was freaking miserable throughout that entire game. The Williams TD was a hell of a play by EJ but you take that out of the equation and you're looking at 43 attempts and 145 yards. Here's to hoping he improves, wins the job outright and becomes our guy. I'm officially pulling for him to win the job. But let's not try and sugarcoat the Houston game.

    I agree with Metz here.....

Fitz struggled.....and made plays here and there

The Running game was NOT that good

The thing that sticks out to me (especially because I just rewatched it) was the amount of DROPPED PASSES in that game......catchable dropped passes

    Sammy had a bunch

  8. I'm not getting it twisted. Biscuit brought up Luck's OC.

Don't you just love it when your point gets made for you by someone who disagrees?

They had gave up 30 less yards a game than Chi. Amazing. We scored 1 td. We scored 2 against Chi and kicked a fg from the one. But keep hanging your hat on passing yardage. Means a ton when you can't put the ball in the end zone.

Like how Orton threw more TD's in 12 games than EJ has in 14? Or no?

Again, 32nd defense vs 2nd defense. 193 rushing yards vs 49 rushing yards. And Orton puts up better passing numbers. And gets the W. Can't get better than that.

Are you going to completely ignore the metrics that show playcalling between EJ Manuel and Orton were different?

    and

Are you going to completely ignore that as each game went by Orton became more and more inaccurate with his throws to go along with complete lack of mobility?

THe idea is not to settle for a certain level of Meh

The idea is to see if one of our young QBs actually getting playing time and developing into something more?

But I'm arguing with someone who doesn't think Orton was better so...

They have more upside because they haven't crashed and burned in their second year, causing their head coach to completely give up on the offense. They could, but they haven't yet.

Again, I don't want to throw the towel in on EJ. I can't be any clearer.

    Except your not clear

  9. I haven't started a thread in forever but I'm at my breaking point here. Does anyone else listen to a fair amount of WGR online? If you don't, you won't know what I'm talking about. But if you do, surely you also want to strangle Flo, all of those Geico girls with their stupid Dear John letters and perhaps most of all, the f***ing Grainger guy. Seriously every time I listen to one 15 minute segment, I have to then endure 5 minutes straight of the exact same commercials every single time. Often times they will repeat the same commercial in one break. I am completely losing it. I have some of these commercials memorized and I hate them. I'm beginning to miss the William C. Rott & Son commercials, that's how bad it's become. I suppose I could just close out the window or mute my computer and then guess when they're back on the air but that seems like a pain in the ass. Is there a solution to this problem that I'm not thinking of? Please help.

This is pent up frustration against EJ Manuel isnt it!

    Poor Flo

  10. So you watched one replay of a single half of football and thought you could come to a conclusion on how good or bad a QB is? My goodness..

No I just had to go back to work....I will watch the rest of it later

When given time to throw, EJ still managed to miss wide open receivers, at times.

I suppose he could get worse if he throws it straight up in the air and hopes for the best.

You do realize that other QBs in the league also miss wide open receivers at times......

Are you considering 1st down passing in a 1 score game an actual stat? Tell me you're joking right? Is that how low people have to dig just to find something he isn't at the bottom of the league in?

What's next? EJ is the best in the league on 2nd and 8 when the wind is blowing 6 mph from the east?

When you are looking at a limited body of work (and lets face it....the kid doesnt even have a full 16 starts....then you have to look a limited body of work and make your evaluations off of that.

  11. There were things about Marrone that I did like and times when I felt like he was showing good management of his team. Backing Dareus, challenging Hughes, giving Mike Williams another chance, sending some sort of message to Woods, talking about players not being good teammates and the like. At the time he benched EJ because of his apparent regression, he said something to the effect that there would be alot of crap coming out but that it wasn't all EJs fault. There things for him to work on and improve and that if he handled his business the right way, EJ could still have a decent NFL career. I was ok with this. It sounded like wisdom.

But then Orton started playing like crap, in many ways worse than EJ, and DM kept trotting out the "he gives us the best chance to win" line right up through week 17. Maybe this was still wisdom in that it gave EJ a chance to be remake himself in the offseason without any recent failures to weigh on his confidence and still be a viable starting candidate for the 2015 season.

Then we heard the stories about St. Doug how he wasn't pleasant with any of the staff at One Bills Drive, football or otherwise. Wanting the best starting 5 o-lineman not named Urbik, the misreading of his own marketability and his attempted power grab. None of this speaks of wisdom to me.

Enter Rex, the new staff and a new season. There certainly is some mystery about how EJ will look in this offense with these coaches. The general assumption outside these parts is that EJ's benching sealed his NFL fate. I'd give that a Lee Corso "Not so fast!" and predict that EJ will succeed under these coaches if given the chance.

What was maddening about Orton was you could live with his old man running when he was making accurate aggressive throws down field

When he stopped doing that.....his lack of mobility started really showing its ugly head.

I dont want a running back QB.....but it sure is nice to have someone that can convert a first down with his legs when needed.

  12. Andrew Luck would've been great with Hackett as his OC

    OK...your getting it twisted (again)

Andrew Luck.....and Payton Manning......and Drew Breez....and the patriots evil QB

Those type of QBs are going to be good no matter what....no matter what the system....they will overcome back OC's

There are like 5-6 of them in the league

We do not have one of those QBs....chances are we are wont for a long long time

    So what do we do?
