  1. To me Carrington's value is in he is versatile

This is a player that inept coaching staffs int he past played him at LINEBACKER......when what he is is a guy that can play in either a 4-3 or 3-4 allignment

and I hate that we didnt keep Red Bryant

  2. TRuth be told, there aren't that many of them. For every legitimate EJ hater there were 10 posters who simply didn't want to go "all in" on him by handing him the starting job with no competition who were labeled as "haters" also. Most are happy with him earning a roster spot, and would be happy with him starting provided he earned that as well.

    THis

  3.

not saying it was an "all money" decision, but it became a factor once it became apparent that Tyrod had something and EJ was showing signs of improving. ... that said, there were some in organization who were very much down on EJ in the early days of camp.

    John,

I appreciate the time you spend on this site explaining your position......the scenario you put out right there I think is spot on

  4.

I saw reports saying EJ played well too. I also saw reports that Darby was looking really good. So what? Reports from camp by sports writers means nothing. As a fan I only go by what I see on the field which is all that counts anyway. I saw EJ out perform everyone else on stats that are often trotted out on TBD to prove who is the best QB. Things like points, TD passes, YPA, QB rating, and yards. Look it up Thurman.

Tyrod's main strength on TBD is that he didn't play QB for the Bills the last 2 years under Coach Moron and Hackett Jr.

Tyrod played well and I hope for the best. If EJ makes the team he'll get in at some point and we'll see what happens.

If Tyrod is #1, then EJ is 1A.

    Go Tyrod !!

    Go BILLS !!

    No....EJ Manuel is not "1A"

Thinking like that is going to continue a qb contiversy when it needs to be over at least for this year......

    Tyrod is the starter

    EJ Manuel is the backup

  5.

 I count 9 starters on offense, 4 on defense (not counting the guys he was around as asst. GM for), and all three specialists. That's 16 out of a possible 24 starting positions filled out under Whaley's GMship.

shhhhhhh he is on a roll be beery berry quiet

  6. If EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel reversed their salaries, then I think EJ would have been cut.

if if and buts were candy and nuts

I also believe Whaley wants to keep EJ Manuel so that people don't accuse him of drafting a 1st round bust. He tends to defend his trades and draft picks rather than admitting his mistakes.

ALL GMS MAKE trades and draft decisions that do not work out.....the majority of Doug Whaley's have. And it is not uncommon for GMs to back their own decisions. He has also sent trades packing early.

For the record, experience has taught me over the years that pre-season performances by QB's mean NOTHING! I've seen every Bills QB play since 1960.

They do when they improve from year to year

There are a lot of conclusions being drawn about these QB's based on insignificant data. I still haven't seen EJ Manuel do well against a decent defense in a regular season game. Until proven otherwise, Manuel is still a questionable 1st round pick. If he never becomes a solid stater in the NFL then it is certainly a wasted pick. Time will tell. The odds favor bust over boom at this point.

Go ahead and discount EJs performance this preseason when the numbers back up that he has in fact played at a more efficient rate.

  7. good thing we've seen some improvement in ej. Perhaps he can be developed if tyrod falls flat this year. Great to hear we have cap space to to get the extension done as well. It's gonna be fun to see a team with real coaching for both the bills and sabres.

I am not saying that YOU are saying this....only that I have seen enough of it on the board

People need to get behind Tyrod Taylor and hope we have something special there......EJ isnt going anywhere....lets all root for Tyrod to become that young Michel Vick type player (the guy that was drafted number 1 overall) TT is bigger, has a better arm, broke most of Vick's college records.......

Lets hope TT becomes that player for us

  8. Its not to difficult to figure out how this played out over all......I just dont understand the media's entrenched position that Matt Cassell was going to be the guy.....I am trying REALLY hard to waive off any notion that there was an agenda specifically against EJ Manuel (because frankly....that would be gross and disgusting of the media)

I think in realty what happened was

    - 3 qbs went into a competition with a completely new team, coaches, and offensive scheme

    - Cassell because his is a multi year veteran and a former starter looked the best at the beginning because of his experience

    - Taylor comes in also a veteran.....just has not had much in starting snaps because of all his years backing up in Baltimore

    - EJ comes in with the youngest of the group......and has starts but needed to really improve

As time went on.....the two younger qbs as they got comfortable in the system and good NFL coaching......got better......they eventually surpassed Cassell and were outperforming him.

Tyrod was the most consistant....in both practices and games.....therefore got the starting nod

EJ Manuel improved enough to think he can be the 2 and even push for the starter spot next year

OVERALL by NFL standards of other NFL teams this year....ALL THREE QBS PLAYED well

    but

Are you really going to pay a QB 5 million dollars to not dress? No.....you use that money to extend players now

I think that is what really happened....and I think it was the right call

  9. I didn't ask for customer retention or loyalty as I didn't have to do that for my discounts, figured I didn't want to play that game of threatening to cancel. But do I need to?

Been a DTV customer since nearly the start up of their company

I NEVER talk to the first person I get on the phone.....always customer retention. And I have always gotten what I wanted.....either directly or through credits on other items to make up for the cost.

  10. How do he figure EJ lost those games by himself?? I have to ask myself as a reporter what was he watching? Didn't he see Corey Liuget and JJ Watt ABUSING the offensive line. Didn't he see the coaching staff ABANDON the run game in Houston when the RBs were averaging 4 yds a carry? Didn't he see receivers drop passes that could have extended drives? There seems to be an Anti-EJ sentiment over there. Was it brought on by Joe Buscaglia while he was there and spread throughout the radio station? They're, to me, like Fox News. I listen just to see what type of tomfoolery they'll come up with, then I turn them off.

I gotta be honest.....I cant fault EJ in that texans game

JJ Watt INTENTIONALLY went after his knees several times (one of my fondest memories of Fred Jackson is making him pay for that)

He was getting the crap kicked out of him all game and our glorious coaching staff wouldnt RUN THE DAMN BALL
