If he doesn't put out the effort, Kujo will get a chance to show what he can accomplish

Thanks for the input....can you provide any insight into Wood and Glenn? Typically when vet guys get flagged for 3-4 holds it's the tip of the iceberg

I gotta be honest...I thought some of those holds they were calling on particularly Glenn were iffy.....that kind of holding happens on every play

One thing totally unrelated.....but gave me smile

Immediately after Karlos WIllaims TD.......the cameras panned to Tyrod Taylor addressing the whole offense it looked like.......and you could tell NOBODY was tuning him out

He truly is the leader of this team

  2. I am reviewing my my league pass specifically watching OL play against the colts

What people are saying about Henderson (and to a smaller degree....the rookie Miller) they must improve

I am into the 2nd quarter....a couple of specifically plays.....

Seantrel gives a minimal effort.....the releases to block on a screen.......Seantrel leads the blocking...then completely wiffs on the defender that tackled the ball carrier...I mean.....COMPLETELY wiffs....doesnt even get in front of him to give the runner a chance to make a cut to go one way or the other for more yardage....that play could ahve EASILY been a touchdown

    and

Running play to the other side of the line......defender comes through Seantrel's gap of responsibility without Henderson getting a mitt on him and makes the tackle while shady is running side line to sideline.....Henderson totally waste bends....doesnt move his feet and doesnt get there...

Thats not gonna do Seantrel you are way to friggen athletic to allow plays like that to happen......just friggen bad technique and lazy.

He has so much potential.....really need for him to live up to it

It's because so many of the high post count "optimists" here feed on negativity.

Their outrage fans the flames that turn a simple negative topic into a long thread.

You just started another negative thread yourself.

You guys just can't live without it.

Said it before......I am looking forward to a sustained era of winning because it will put all the fan haters posing as "optimists" out of business.

    Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  4. Guys,

Great win, but it seems we're getting ahead of ourselves here. We're actually positioning ourselves as favorites over the Patriots**(**) here it seems. I think that's a bit early.

    1. Luck was able to move the chains dinking and dunking, something Brady**(**) excels at.

Because we allowed it. We WANTED them to do that to waste time off the clock after we had dominated the 1st half. This game absolutely was not close. That does not mean we are going to dominate the patriots I would never predict that.....but we gave them the short passes on purpose.

    2. Gronk.

Who Rex has been pretty good against in the past.

    3. Even through all those blitzes, Luck was able to dink and dunk.

We stopped blitzing in the second half....didnt u notice?

    4. Belicheat**(**) has been running on us successfully before and the run D is not proven yet.

Past is past my friend....get with the now

    5. RT is going to suffer against Nikoblahblahcheater

    ?

    6. Chandler is a thread in the NE**(**) offense, whether we like it or not, sure he isn't Gronk but remember the days he saved for us

Also couldnt block worth a damn and got ragdolled by corners

    7. Blount always has a great game against us

And he still might.....but once again.....Rex Ryan....top 10 in run defense historically and that is not by accident.

    8. It's only TT his second NFL game, Belicheat**(**) annihilates rookie QBs (granted he didn't look the rookie one bit)

I am quite sure that the game plan on offense will be the same as it was against the colts......more run then pass......and to be honest the patriots looked horrid against the run week 1

    9. Graham won't play yet, he was out with that hit and they'll be forced to set him inactive

Good thing it looks like we have solid depth

    10. Rex seems way too confident facing NE**(**) hopefully this doesn't translate to the players or the crowd

Maybe because he knows how to beat them?

    11. The Patriots**(**) D might be able to do some damage

Not based on what we saw week 1

    12. O-line was struggling to get the running lanes opened

New system.....but did get it done when it mattered? Lets not act like the Colts game was close

    13. They always find a way to cheat

I really dont know what to say about that.....its not part of football and you can bet Rex and crew are all over it

    14. They will get away with tons of holding again

Probably....that is actually my real concern for the game....however somethign to think about. The patriots are no longer the NFL's darling after all the cheating....

    15. The refs and the Patriots**(**) are sitting in a tree...

The refs work for the NFL

    On the flip side

    1. We'll have Dareus back.

    2. The NE**(**) CBs look shaky

    3. Special teams play

    4. True test, if we beat the Pats**(**) in any fashion close to what we did with the Colts, oh boy, oh boy

    5. Chandler is always good for a major turnover when it matters most

  5. This is kind of a pet peeve of mine but why do we compare how 2003 (or whatever old year) started to this? The coaches were different, the players were different, the people selecting the players were different, the people that played against the Bills were different. It in no way is an indicator of what will happen this year. I get it, we have been burned before but you can't base your opinion of this team's chances on what happened when Derek Fine was in the lineup. It is completely meaningless.

If you say that you don't believe because you don't think that Darby can sustain that level of play or fears of the OL -fine. If you don't believe because you believed in 2003 and it didn't work out that doesn't make any logical sense.

    16 years and counting Kirby.....:)

I mean....I think this team is different....but I get it when people arent ready to crown them

  6. We have had seasons where we started off great....and missed the playoffs.

I will believe not based on win loss record.....but our teams offense having the ability to overcome a bad day on defense.

I saw glimpses of that yesterday (the defense was dominant......but our offense actually helped THEM out)

  7.

Kelly says you know football, but really, I don't follow the logic "not sure Roman can go out and win a game with the mentality he showed today" when our team led all the way and was up 24-zip after a very long drive in the 2nd half. I mean, the mentality a guy shows when he's up 24 pts is just not the mentality a guy shows when he's down 24 points and how can you judge one from the other? I think Roman is constitutionally opposed to putting more on film for the next opponent than he has to, JMO. Keep in mind Watkins has been out with injury, he and Tyrod are still reportedly working on their timing, and Watkins may not be all the way back. If we don't see him targeted week after week I'll worry. I'd be worried also if Taylor ignored him to fix on one guy, but he spread it around. We didn't see a lot from Clay, either.

Targets got distributed, handoffs got distributed. McCoy's running stats would look better without all the holding call backs (19 yds and a TD by my count)

Things I saw that I didn't like on offense:

    1) all those f*@!# holding penalties, especially on Wood and Glenn. How many was that, 4, just split on the 2 of them?

    Didnt like those either.....

    2) even with all the holding penalties, the line's run blocking was not "all that". Either McCoy isn't all the way back yet, or we really need an answer here. McCoy needs run blocking. He's not a guy who creates holes for himself.

The run blocking scheme is very very complex. It might be a while before they get it all the way down.

    3) Tyrod's ball security. I know, I know, it was raining. I know, I know, it was very heads-up of him to recover the fumble and knock the batted pass to the ground before a defender nabbed it. But man, hang onto the rock and don't throw at opposing linemen in the first place.

Tyrod did not "throw" the ball at a opposing offensive linemen.....there was a blocker that had the assignment of getting the defender's hands down and he couldnt do it. This happens to all QBs but is especially going to happen to a 6' quarterback so we are going to see some of that......in fact Tyrod showed excellent ball security by have the awareness to KNOCK the ball down and kill the play.

On the handoff....it was raining...it was wet....and we dont know if this was the center's fault or his on the exchange. In any case Tyrod's ball security the whole game was pretty excellent.....zero picks to Lucks 2.

    4) OK, the chop block penalty on Clay was bogus, but the personal foul penalties on D and ST have got to go. We did not look like a well-coached team in that regard. Listen to Marv Levy guys: "Don't be dumb, don't be dirty".

Sure wish they would have replayed some of these calls.....half the time they didnt even give numbers.

    5) Communication errors or whatever it was that left receivers uncovered. Get it straight before next week, guys. Brady was watching, taking notes, and naming names.

This was a pretty dominant effort by the defense.....especially considering we were rotating safeties and corners into the game because of injury.

Things I saw that I liked:

    1) poise and vision from Tyrod. He didn't look like a guy starting his first game. He looked like It. Keep it up, Tyrod.

    2) Karlos Williams. He hit the hole hard, even when there wasn't much hole. Stay healthy, and he's got a future IMO. That combination of size and speed is hard to defend.

    3) All the passes to McCoy. He and Tyrod must be saying "I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship". Free Shady from the need for a run blocking line, and stand back.

    4) Very solid tackling. We looked, for a change, like a well-coached team in that regard

    5) Nickell Robey. All game. But especially when Andrew Luck was wearing him. Brady would also look very nice in that outfit (the Nickell Robey look) though I'm not fussy - Brady would look great wearing anyone in a Bills uniform, provided he's down on the ground making that "uuuuuuuhhhh" noise Bruce Smith loved.

An interesting difference between Luck and Brady.......Lucky will shake pressure and hits off like it never happened (although he wasnt last night especially in the 1st half) while these things really affect Brady badly. They still have to play the game but I STILL believe that this defense knows exactly how to defend Brady. We just need our offense to score enough points to win.

  8. I will also add this before I head off to bed.......

    - This team with all of its injuries has not had a chance to work a lot together.....lots of players got held out so a lot of rust

    - A QB that has NEVER started an NFL game

    - You dont want to be playing your best ball right now.....yes you want to win and we did....but you want a slow biuldup of your team chemistry and you want to be playing your best football by week 16.

  9. I think it is tough to impress someone when that person has no knowledge of the subject

For example, it would be tough to impress me with painting or architecture, because I don't know anything about painting or architecture. I think football is your painting

I may not totally agree with K9s take on this.....but I can tell you he knows his stuff

  10. I think it important to consider that these guys have not played a lot together.....so yes Roman was being careful to not turn the ball over.......and we were flat dominating them.

I think as TT gets more game time and these guys have worked together a bit you will see it open up

    We didnt need that today.....
