Probably better to use retired players anyway. Madden constantly gets blamed for the curse on active players.

What’s your opinion of Gabe Davis on this play?
zow2 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was sold on Gabe a few years ago., and was wrong. Can't wait till next season when he's not here. Allen will have a new cast of characters to throw the ball to. -
Both teams are beyond frustrated, This is going to be a physical battle royale. I'm not expecting a lot of points that's for sure. If I'm Joe Brady I'd make this a fairly conservative game plan, run and check it down...a few Allen off script scrambles when the pocket opens up, get down and slide (ala Russ Wilson the other night). Emphasize ball security. Hopefully the tide and luck starts to flip on turnovers and the Bills get takeaways.

Stefon Diggs is showing the exact same personality he showed in Minnesota. There's nothing he's doing that surprises me at all. The tweets from his dumb brother are just childish nonsense, but that's what you get with the Diggs family. The first couple seasons when Allen/Diggs were all "kumbaya" together was great. But that's over, Diggs wants to eat and wants a ring...and he's pretty much come to the realization that Buffalo is not a place that gets rings.. so he's bitter. It's a shame that he and Allen are probably not the close buds they used to be.
-
Maybe Josh is depressed in part because he and Diggs aren’t close buds off the field anymore. Didn’t they used to hang out and play video games? i recall hearing that in interviews they did back in the good times. I saw on a different NFL message board that on the TD pass to Kincaid, Diggs was wide open and gesturing frustrated that Josh didn’t throw him the ball. But since Kincaid was Wide open, not sure how he could be upset about that.

Kills me to see this online today. But the Bills Denver game is voted the #1 whackiest ending to a game so far this season. Last year it was Bills Minnesota. Both home losses of course. That’s the culture created here… and i’m sure 13 seconds was the season before.

I like this one quote: "McDermott’s defense has been terrible on opening drives and early in games (#29 defense on opening drive yards allowed, #31 defense in points allowed the first two drives of games)." So let me get this straight, McDermott's defense has been terrible at the beginning of games...and in all 5 losses it's been pretty awful at the end of games, unable to get the crucial stop to either win, or give the offense the ball back for a chance to win. Man, that's a problem! I'd say even the Giants game was technically a stop at the end, but the Bills got lucky.
-
Ha, true...I recall he had a few 4,000 yard seasons and even a 5,100 yard season. Lot's of TDs and big plays but the INTs were insane! They cost him his job.

I don't mind the benching of Cook for one series or two. Even though it's kind of an old school move, just about every coach in football plays that game. A few weeks ago on MNF, De'andre Swift fumbled and Siriani had him glued to the bench for most of the first half. I was really burned up by the 12 men on the field,,(can Sean count?!?)... and how he said they practiced that during the week and failed to execute. And also, the Bills D was like Top-5 for a few years and we were all OK with firing Frazier, but now Sean takes over and they completely suck at the end of games in crunch time. We just needed a stop in a couple of these close losses (out of 5 of them) and they could've been wins. So YOU SUCK Sean.

Josh is the best... for whatever reason he's turned in to Jameis Winston for a few games here...but that will be short lived. He will be BACK!
-
Now that's a hot take!

Ha. My son has a whiteboard in his bedroom,,,,and it's just updated with a list of ridiculous Bills losses starting with the Texans playoff OT loss. I just have to laugh when i see it. I say son, wait until you're my age...your list is just the tip of the iceberg.

All it takes is one win over Zach Wilson and the Jets, who haven't scored a TD in like 11 straight Qtrs, and everyone including Diggs will be having fun again, for another week or so anyway.

I don't think Joe Brady has to come in and go crazy this weekend, changing everything within a few days. He can tweak some things but the playbook is still going to be the playbook for the rest of the year. What he needs to do is infuse a little juice into the offense and allow them to get their confidence back. To me that doesn't mean trick plays and all that low % stuff. He can call a conservative game this weekend. Pound the ball a bit, Get Josh out of the pocket on some run pass options..but easy passes not downfield into double coverage. If he can get Allen and the offense through this game, get a W, and no turnovers, he's done his job. For reference look at the conservative type of game Russell Wilson played on MNF. He threw very few dangerous passes. Most of them were high percentage, short throws to the sidelines where only his guys could catch it and turn upfield.., OR he would run straight ahead for 8 yards and slide. Against the Jets, this and some running would prob get a win.

Super Bowl champions goes through adversity
zow2 replied to kirkwoodus13's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. McD just loses too many close games, and some are the weirdest endings ever… to be a coincidence. These good coaches like Reid, Siriani, Tomlin, etc don’t crap the bed as often as Mcdermott. So yeah unless things change dramatically, i don’t see him winning a Bowl. -
It’s not like Joe Brady is taking over to work with Tyson Bagent or someone of that caliber. This is Josh Freakin Allen. One of the best QB talents and athletic dudes in the entire league. So this is an amazing situation for Brady to really shine here. We’ll see. If he can break Allen out of this slump he will be The Man.

We need to save Josh Allen by any means necessary (the fire is gone)
zow2 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I called Allen a turnover machine during the London game and people got so offended at me...calling me a hater. My exact words were that this man (Josh) just cannot get through a game without a turnover or two. It's like part of his DNA. In my opinion, turnovers are more costly than the good plays are helpful.. Unless the offense is scoring 31+ per game. I'm not pinning all of it on Josh, we see receivers deflecting passes instead of catching them and other guys fumbling the ball away. But it's almost a lock that Josh will give the other team an extra possession at least once a game and kill a drive and momentum. It an enormous problem with his game. -
McDermott's seat is not hot, it's completely engulfed in flames right now. He's going to have to lead this team to win some games down the stretch that they are not expected to win. I look over at Baltimore and John Harbaugh, who has had to fire coordinators and re-invent himself a few times now, and they stay successful for the most part. What he is doing that McDermott isn't?
-
Usually i like the Bills in revenge games, but nothing has gone according to plan this year. The Jets are equally frustrated and they have the better defense. I don't think it matters that this game is in Buffalo, we are just a mess right now and the vibe of this game seems like an L. This will be a low scoring slugfest and whoever loses the turnovers will lose the game.
-
He probably realizes that being too nice on the air is not good radio so he's become edgy and irritable.
-
He went on and on, but yes he implied that. Said look at McDermott, he basically fired Frazier and then went from top 3 defense to #16 and can't stop anyone when it matters. Now he fires the OC and he disagrees with it.
-
Ha, Jeff Saturday on ESPN Get UP this morning just ripped McDermott to shreds. Says the Bills are a dumpster fire and to fire an OC after a MNF game is a joke. He then went to point that since Dorsey the Bills have the 3rd most points behind Dal and Phil...and the QBR is 2nd only behind Mahomes. SO he hates the move.
-
Russ Wilson has always thrown the deep moon ball. It looks weird but gives his WR's a chance to run under them. Josh has lost his touch and he's not putting enough air under his deep passes. If you throw a frozen rope downfield, it has to be a pinpoint accurate throw. If you throw a high arc, it give your guy a better chance to run under it. His deep passes have sucked this season.
-
The only good to come out of Denver is that they can ditch those fugly blue/blue uniforms. I hate them. And since the Cincinnati playoff loss there was no magic about them and no point in bringing them back. Just wear the blue over white at home. That's the look. Stay consistent with it.

Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE
zow2 replied to WEATHER DOT COM's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well the only team that seems to lose as many if not more close games at the end is Staley of the LA Chargers. So he and McDermott will get to settle whose the worst on 12/23.
