Jacobs and Golisano seem like the only ones that could lead a team. They both have buffalo ties and enough backing. Who says that it needs to be a buffalo business person. What would be wrong with having a Canadian owner? Toronto most likely has more billionaires than Buffalo. Just because someone is from Canada doesn't mean that they will want to move it there. The New Jersey Nets have a Russian owner he doesn't want to move it there.

1. Any Parsley Garnish (especially when it is finely diced into dust) 2. The term "Still Pickin" 3. When the soup is Campbells (yea Salvatore's I'm talking to you) 4. When they take your fork and fail to replace it 5. When they take or give the check and don't come back quickly 6. When seafood is just straight up bad and they serve it anyways (it has happened to me so many times that I almost refuse to order it)

New Stadium in LA Rumor
a player to be named later replied to Munch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Al Davis gloats about that from time to time. Wonder if we'll see the day when a team announce it is moving and then the Raiders block it and move back to LA. -
What about the feeling when you come across a movie like that, it is like finding 20 bucks in your pocket. Many of the classics have been named... Here are some others... Uncle Buck as on last weekend. I stuck with it for awhile. Wedding Crashers Patriot Games Clear and Present Danger Christmas Vacation during the holidays

Tunnel is a good idea in my opinion... Just get it done already! -
yet another take on lynch to the chagers
a player to be named later replied to bkc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moving Lynch would be the same thing as moving Peters. You'll end up having to use a pick to replace him and you won't have an idea of what you will get. You have to have two RB's in the league nowadays. We have enough holes to plug without creating another one! I thought that our obsession with stockpiling DB's died with Jauron... -
I always wonder how these lists are created... I'm sure weather economy, etc... are major variables. Except for the fact that they don't take into account the drastically low cost of living or the fact that there are things to do in the winter. Personally I would move back to Buffalo rather than be in one of those hellish cities that just big wide streets full of big box stores and chain restaurants... Elmwood Village was ranked as a top community in the USA if that is worth anything... Maybe not to Forbes.

Wkatever We do - Please No Campbell Trade
a player to be named later replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He plays in one of the harder (more competitive divisions in football) and has put up respectable numbers with bad teams and more offensive coordinators than we have gone through. I think he is a legit starter in this league especially after the number he put up and the locke room distractions that he had to go through. He is a stand up guy that puts up numbers against hard teams. -
So Should Ralph be happy?

A plan like this is good for the overall league. At the end of the day the big teams benefit from having teams like the Bills, Colts, etc. It makes the league more popular and relevant in areas that might not be able to support a team with a new stadium, and debt. -
Possible Rams to L.A.
a player to be named later replied to Rust Belt Nights's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't thing that population is the best metric to use when determining franchise viability. Just another small note, not sure if it means anything, but... Working in a corporate office of a franchisor some of the offices in smaller cities are viewed just as important as our larger cities. Presence in smaller cities is important to the brand of our company. That being said, I'm not sure that there are many potentially profitable markets for the NFL. Is it in the best interest of the NFL to move teams to different cities other than LA? -
Possible Rams to L.A.

Wouldn't Toronto have to show that they could support a team? Do you think the Rodgers corp will sign a similar deal with the Bills after the 5 year deal comes up? Have they made money on this deal? Once the LA spot is filled is there another location outside of Toronto that can support a team? Lastly, I know that it doesn't make a real difference but why wouldn't the Bills raise the price on tickets? If we sell out games without going to the playoffs in a decade why wouldn't you raise up the ticket prices? It seems like there is some wiggle room to raise the prices and maybe not sell out a game or two. -

Has the NFL ever tried to move a franchise there and had it blocked by Davis? I think Davis is just in love with the image that he has created for himself. I seem to remember that Al was left out of the merger talks and didn't even know there had been a merger (a the time he was commissioner of the AFL). I think if they could push something through like that then, they could do the same now. -

Why announce something on a friday? That is usually the day that people let out bad news. -
Marv Levy STILL wants to coach again?
a player to be named later replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Joe Gibbs tried it and we beat him after he called two timeouts in a row... and Joe Gibbs WON a super bowl. The league changes at such a fast pace. It is very hard now a days to leave and return. I'd rather pay the big bucks to the hybrid role of coach GM. One thing that I've also noticed with resurgent teams. Green Bay - D coach Dom Capers Denver - D coach Mike Nolan Saints - D coach Greg Williams We need to bring in someone that will bring in better coordinators as well. -

Isn't Darryl Talley the richest Bill? Didn't he purchase a bunch of McDonalds in the DC area? I thought that I heard that on GR before. -
MUST SEE Buffalo Attractions?
a player to be named later replied to 3rd and One's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In addition to what others have said... Burchfield Penny - http://www.yournewburchfieldpenney.com/ Buffalo Historical Society - I think they are having a Buffalo Bills Exhibit Museum of Science - They have the "Bodies exhibit" if you haven't seen that yet... City Hall - I've never done this but they have a refurbished observation deck at the top and the common council chambers are pretty cool as well (from pictures). -
If you are into no sooo tourist stuff you should check out the Chelsea Market and the Highline which are right around 14th and 10th ave. Both are cool and different... Shows what is possible in a post industrail area, if Buffalo could do something half as nice as this in the habor area we'd be in great luck. Best part about both is that they are both FREE... http://www.chelseamarket.com/ http://www.thehighline.org/ Meatpacking district is near as well if you are in for a trendy bar scene... Son Cubanos is a very cool Cuban place to have a drink and even dinner.

Need suggestions for food
a player to be named later replied to todd's topic in Off the Wall Archives
There is a small cobble stone street that is closed to traffic that is right at the foot of the Goldman Sachs building. There is a row of 5 or 6 restaurants that provide service right on the street. It is very cool, also like a desert oasis in the middle of the city. Very busy during happy hour, but the prices are right... It is also restaurant week in NYC... Pre Fixe dinners $35. You could try a really nice place for little cost. -
High Speed Rail up from New York to Albany then to Buffalo Stopping in select cities Utica, SYR and ROC could cut hours off riding by car or by plane. I live in new york and regularly fly into Buffalo. Anyone that does this knows that it is hell getting out of new york. 1. You wait in traffic to get to the airport or take mass transit which takes an hour as well. 2. You have to get the the airport an hour early. 3. Most planes especially in the summer are delayed 4. Has anyone been on a plane and you push off from the gate taxi a bit and then the pilot comes on as says we are 30th for take off?? Point is that many times it takes me just as long to get from NYC to BUF as it would in a car. If you have high speed rail and shave an hour off what it would take in a car it would make it worth it. With WiFi available in the cars it is a no brainer for business travelers, pols, and even vacationers. The $$ is going to be spent on high speed rail, I would rather have it spent here than in some other state....

Future Bills move to Niagara Falls?
a player to be named later replied to GaryPinC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would even go as far as putting the stadium on goat island... The Buffalo/Niagara/Toronto Bills live from Goat Island, NY - Thompson's Water Seal Stadium.
