Oh yeah, oh yeah... well I get my beer boiling with a blowtorch then pick up the can with thick rubber gloves. I let it cool off a bit before drinking so I don't burn my lips and it's more refreshing. . . . (Holy cow, tell me you guys are kidding. I thought my inlaws were odd for chilling red wine....)

What are you interested to see on the Redskins game? What do you expect? I'll get it started... Interested to see 1. The WR race. Specifically 1) TJ Graham's return 2a) does Easley get any snaps with the varsity team 2b) and does he continue to look good 3) Is Brad Smith ready to fade away, or is he fighting for his job? 4) Are Goodwin and Woods the only WRs blocking so aggressively, or have they all been coached up? 2. DBs Who besides Gilmore looks good? 3. Adversity I would actually like to see a couple bad breaks forthe team at the start of the game, and see how they react. I'd like to know how the team responds as an important aspect of team chemistry. 4. Are the following players continuing to look better? All have started slowly, but started coming on in the Vikings game: Kolb, Dareus, Fred Jackson Expect to see 5. The Bills more aggressive than the Redskins - - more of the same. 6. Somewhere around 8-10 penalties - - and I don't mind. If the calls are either borderline or due to aggressiveness and they don't kill a drive for us.

i'd like to hear more from you and others here regarrding how safeties and schemes around the league differ. Don't go there in this mostrosity that is the Byrd signing -no- wanting a trade -no- whatever echo chamber.... Welcome! I agree with the first part, but not the second. -
P&P Releases Due To Money or FO Incompetence ??
Matt in KC replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The year we let Fletcher go we signed Langston Walker to a 5 year $25 Million contract, the same length and money Fletcher got with the Redskins. It's not that the Bills haven't been willing to pay, they just haven't identified and paid the right people. -

Huh? He's looked great and says he feels great so far this year. I'm mostly interested to see if he can maintain that through a whole game... two and a half weeks from now. Did they give any examples or explanation why they think that? -

Poll: Should the "Redskins" name be changed?
Matt in KC replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think there is a lot of good discussion in the thread, and it has been pretty disciplined, considering the topic. It's just below the threshold I'd give the main board during the season. It's a great of-season topic, but seems to belong more in OTW. Also, I do read it all the time. I was just getting frustrated and annoyed by the back and forth between uncle flap and Mr. baggadoughnuts. For what it's worth, uncle flap seems more right to me. I just don't see the discussion adding anything that hasn't already been beat to death. I do like it when people link new articles that reflect public sentiment or new actions. -
Sheeesh... slacker!

For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow.. which nobody can deny! Thanks! ...and Byrd trade? huh?

Poll: Should the "Redskins" name be changed?

Maybe we set Preseason game 3 as the deadline to close down this thread or move it off the main board...? -
Half way through Preseason. What are your concerns?
Matt in KC replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My top concerns are: O-Line depth - The starters all look good to me, but I'm not comfortable with ANY of the backups, and it's likely one will need to play at some point. TE - I'd feel a lot better if it looked like Chandler was back to 100% CB - I think it's going to be a feast or famine kind of year.... QB depth - I think Kolb is a good short-term backup, but don't believe he can lead the team to success over an extended period or in the playoffs. Amazingly, I can't list LB. Moats is great depth, but he's the only one ready for playing time IMO. Maybe I should have listed LB Depth. -

I have been watching the left side of the o-line closely in the PS games. Colin Brown has made me a believer. I'm really think he's a legitimate starter, and worlds ahead of Legurski. In the Vikings game, Brown performed better than Glenn, who seems to be slowly warming up for the year. But I'm not really worried about him either. -
The quick answer is there is no reason, unless something changed. If teams lost a WR or gave up on one or more developmental players, they might want to give him a shot if they had some reason to think he had promise. (I don't really think so.) I think a lot of teams wanted to see for themselves, if there wasn't much risk. That's a far cry from wanting to sign him to the 53 man roster and guarantee his pay for the year sight-unseen. If a team was deparate during the year, I could maybe see them taking a shot signing him off of a PS.

Regardless of Manuel's condition, I hope and expect the Bills will wait until shortly before the Pats game to announce who is starting.
-
Sorry man, I didn't mean to really give you a hard time. I do the same thing when I'm tired.
-
So to clarify, because you don't think Rogers will make not make the team, does not mean I don't think he won't be an NFL WR failure?
-
I haven't seen any of the practices, just the 2 preseason games. In those I've seen more from Summers than Dickerson. If we cut Summers and Lee Smith or Gragg, maybe they'd keep Dickerson to provide backup both of those positions. Can DD block well enough?
