  1. Honestly, if you look at Pittsburgh though, they are doing precisely what New England is doing: they're just winning. I think a cold-weather team like Pitt could go toe-to-toe with the Pats in Foxboro. Though we might not be having this discussion if your boys didn't get a nice handjob from the refs in a certain Oakland game.
  2. We tied today on the only stat that matters. People who don't get that don't understand why the Patriots win. They've shown that they can do it, no matter if their QB gets under 100 yards, or if their D allows 500.
  3. I see Takeo having a monster game, and I see it carrying through to the rest of the D. This one will mean too much to him. Hopefully the offense will show up and come correct.
  4. I think if the Bills can play the kind of game they played against Seattle, with better play from the secondary to match Cincy's better receivers, this one goes in Buffalo's column. The defense is just making things happen and keeping the offense afloat in times of trouble, and we saw last week that the offense is capable of doing the same. You're half right about Holcomb, though it seems like coming off the bench and lighting it up is his forte. He was dreadful when they made him the man last year.
  5. The crazy thing is that this offense put up 48 points against our next opponent. Did Holcomb make that much of a difference? Should be interesting to see how Cincy plays this one as they are essentially out of it. They have been playing well lately but today's loss was a death-blow as far as I'm concerned.
  6. Not accusing you of that, but it's not like the Pats can't be beaten. That's all I'm saying. And losing the offensive coordinator who has been a presence on both Super Bowl teams and mentor to their QB will be a big blow.
  7. Because the Patriots are and always have been the best team ever and Bill Belicheck has never coached a team that lost anything? Jesus, it's a wonder they even have the formality of a season of pro football with these results.
  8. I completely agree (and am terribly worried about the national debt, AD). It SHOULDN'T be a problem. I can just see it being dangerous if we are in the right position to really make a run at the playoffs, because 1) the Niners are terrible, beating them should be cake 2) it's the day after Christmas, on the road 3) the team might be looking ahead to Pittsburgh since it would presumably be our door into the playoffs, and a "homecoming"/hotly anticipated game for Mularkey This is assuming a lot of "what ifs" so I'll agree it's early to talk about it and that yes, SF is dreadful and we should beat the crap out of them. It'll be really interesting if we're having this discussion in a few weeks.
  9. I'm thinking more about our guys than theirs, but this game is dangerous, day after Christmas, on the road. Does anyone know what the team protocol is for this one? Will they all be out in SF for Christmas? If SF wins another game somewhere in-between I won't be as worried. I just can't see them only winning one game this season.
  10. There is already class warfare going on. Except one side doesn't have access to buying the government.
  11. And can one necessarily fault MoveOn for pointing out that the current leadership will not change a losing strategy? McAuliffe=Gilbride
  12. Because Hillary Clinton personally bankrupts the state government and raises Western New York taxes? You are a damned fool. Last time I checked 2 of the 3 people heading up state government are Republicans (Pataki and Bruno). The problem is that all the so-called moralizing voices of reason would rather hold onto their right to complain than run for office and actually do something about it.
  13. Furthermore, get government out of the business of marriage, everyone already married has a civil union, and your church takes care of your marriage. If you want it. Then there is no 'separate but equal' situation to worry about. Separation of church and state is wise, folks.
  14. I had to work on a session of hers and it was one of the most grating songs I have ever heard. And I'll take Scarlett Johanson over this girl anyday. Yes Indeed
  15. Take away their anti-trust exemption and your argument holds some water.
  16. I think the parody part usually comes in when a flag is thrown.
  17. I haven't really driven, aside from on my honeymoon, in the past few years. I will tell you as a resident of NYC that the worst idea ever was to get 8 million people who don't know how to walk and put them all in the same city. The next person who stops directly in front of me is getting cross-checked, Rob Ray style.
  18. So game 1 vs. Jacksonville didn't cut it for you?
  19. We all know Belicheck is overrated. He only wins because he coaches in a good system
  20. Well, they do have that gorgeous young quarterback who is Joe Montana and a young Cary Grant all rolled up in one. I'd like to have his babies [/ESPN off]
  21. Against this year's Dolphins, it's quite average. Drew played a good game, no doubt. Anything else should have earned him a benching against these losers. I would say he really deserves the starting job if he could play a competitive game against the Pats with less than 7 months of prep-time.
  22. If the refs weren't trying to gift-wrap that game for Jacksonville I don't know what their intention was. The officiating in this league is a complete joke. I saw no indication that the Steelers were playing such an undisciplined game to warrant 11 penalties to Jacksonville's three.
  23. Hear, hear. Best Christmas special ever. Guaraldi's music makes it.
  24. I heard Jingle Bell Rock three times in the span of an hour on the "Lite" station that was on in the laundromat yesterday. It actually made a good argument for guns. Also heard the sickening Christmas Shoes song. Seriously, the commercialism is killing me.
