  1. Alright, go fight those wars then. Not that we're overextended and facing a morale disaster as it is.
  2. 19 points wins games with Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia on many occasions, especially with a good defense. Forget that the D and STs are putting points on the board. If your worry is in facing teams like the Pats and Indy who will destroy you if you get behind, yes, we have something to prove in that department. But let's try and get there.
  3. Show me how ours has been a liability lately? Bledsoe threw a few picks against the Seahawks, and we had some ball-control issues in a bad weather game against Cleveland. Other than that, they're not exactly giving up the game. They made many more brilliant plays against the Seahawks, rescued the D in a game Miami desperately wanted to win, and can now make the deep strike thanks to Evans. Without McGahee, things will be tougher and the team needs him back ASAP. But it sounds like you want our guys to lose with Bledsoe. I just don't get it.
  4. I want to know why your point is that it's "only" been done once in the last 13 years. Once is all it needs to be to know that there is a chance. You know our chances are slim here anyway. But to deny that chance and say "there's no chance we can win a Super Bowl with Bledsoe" is to deny yourself some of the fun of the NFL. Anything CAN happen. And this defense is playing well enough that you can believe in it -- and they give the offense some real chances to succeed. We've been winning games because they have been doing that more often.
  5. He might throw a crushing bonehead interception. But he would probably break the guy's legs after he caught it
  6. I haven't seen one of those before. I am interested in your theories and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  7. I'm rooting for a tidal wave to envelop Pro Player Stadium.
  8. We are definitely getting lucky here in that when we lose our TE's, we get Cleveland as a 'training game' for the new guys. Hopefully this one will be the same for Shaud and co. Like I said before, really hope these guys aren't coming down day after Christmas on the road. Looks like they'll be up for it though.
  9. Yeah, I have no problem with true believers, but I've got a real problem with the idea that God would let some people starve while he's watching the Rams game.
  10. So tell me, did the Ravens have a Super Bowl caliber offense when they won? I'd just like to know. Defense, not Jesus, and not a quarterback, wins you championships. If the D can play this well and we can get the ball in Evans' hands enough, we can do some damage.
  11. I didn't see Del Rio but it was pretty impressive to see Marcus Stroud giving Darius all sorts of sh-- about it. As for the season being over, believe what you want to. I'm sure there's some pro bowling on for you to watch. I'm in it till the finish.
  12. Yeah, but Tom Brady smells like fresh roses cut from the Garden of Eden and throws passes like a young Jesus, so in fact it's the Steelers that should be worried, my friend. In fact, he makes Johnny Unitas look like a pile of puke.
  13. I think he was still hurt. Favre always forces situations when behind, too. Even so, you'd think that crowd would have helped them rally back for the win against a Florida team.
  14. Dude, relax. You keep reliving this stuff in your head and it will drive you nuts (turning you into a true Bills fan). With that game we were cooking with a rookie head coach who was sorting his sh-- out. You knew that was a distinct possibility when the Bills hired him. He's learned QUICKLY on the job and has put on a coach of the year performance (though I think he still has MUCH to learn). The secondary had a horrendous first game, sans Milloy, and they've gotten better and better each week AND gotten the wise vets back. You can't blame that one all on the D, either. Holding Jax to 13 points should have been enough considering the points we are putting up now. Regardless, we are looking at playoff possibilities with nothing to lose considering our dreadful start. I am just so excited that we're in it every week. I really thought we were left for dead at 1-5 and that Bledsoe was finished, and we were screwed because Losman wasn't back for another 4 weeks. I will leave it to the team to be disappointed if they don't make it to the playoffs (and with this bunch they definitely will take it hard if it doesn't happen). I am excited about the present and the future. Just enjoy the ride.
  15. The Buffalo-Oakland game was under 30 points. You never know what the tenor of a game will be. Besides which, why does the Raiders' allowance of high passing yards to Volek mean big rushing yards for Taylor? Your logic doesn't add up. We've yet to see a lights-out passing game from Leftwich. I think both games will be interesting and I'm desperately hoping the Raiders or Texans can pull it out. I do think you're right that the best shot is with the Texans, though. Carr and Johnson are both special players.
  16. The only thing I ever said about Kevin Williams was that he should stop running sideways and start running forward. Ahh, the Wade years. Hilarious in retrospect. Those press conferences were golden: Win or lose, "uhh, yeah, we played pretty good... I don't know..."
  17. Judging by our start, we are playing with nothing to lose, but a chance to win. That makes us dangerous. I am revelling in it but I understand the probabilities.
  18. I think a lot of people have a lot at stake if this could be proven, specifically the gay community and the religious right. It would definitely blow a lot of perception out of the water, and you can bet that the gay community would love to see it acknowledged that we had a President who was gay, not to mention one of our best ones. Again, I'm making no judgement here as to whether there is any truth to it, and I believe it's ultimately unprovable, unless there are some daguerrotypes out there I don't know about. But what's at stake is obvious and there is a reason historians are debating it.
  19. There was a game or two where the commentators were calling Eric Moulds "E" Moulds (I can't remember how many years ago this was). Was this a failed attempt at name change in the tradition of Patrick Sur-tann? I just remember it sounding incredibly stupid and laughing about it. Just came back to me today. Carry on.
  20. Before you all raise your glasses to the demise of the NHL, chew on this one: A lot of people's jobs depend on that league, and not just the immediate office ones or people who work in the arena, but people who do sound and TV for those games, people who work in restaurants and other businesses near the arena, and so forth. I read a recent NY Times piece about it and they said that this is literally killing some of the businesses like Pearl St. Brewery, etc. that get many times greater business during hockey season. I know some towns don't care, but Buffalo has and does, and it's suffering again for it. This is a tragedy that extends beyond the sport. Shame on anyone who thinks this is a good thing just because they can't appreciate the sport.
  21. Before anyone goes nuts about it, the article is a review of a book and it is made clear by the reviewer that there are conflicting viewpoints on this. Still, I wonder what the ramifications would be if this could ever be proven (I don't think it can, realistically). Link to NY Times article
  22. I never really listened much to Tupac's lyrics but I hope they're better than Taking Back Sunday's...
