  1. Didn't the Bills ask for an interview with Grimm 3 years ago? ... and got a "thanks-but-no-thanks" reply from him? If he wasn't interested then, why should the Bills be interested in him now? Don't think the Cardinals have done anything particularly noteworthy over the past 3 years to warrant giving him another shot .....

  3. In yesterday's game, the Colts' running game in the first half was awful - total of 12 yards running in the first 2 quarters. They lost 2 starters on the OL in the first half. Made adjustments at half time, came out in the 2nd half and stuck with the run, put together 2 long TD drives, churning out a total of 86 yards on the ground. He keeps running it even when it's "not working", at least to keep the defense honest ... and eventually, wear the D down.
  4. Bruce Arians . Living here in the Indianapolis area, I've been very impressed with the job he's done in the roles of both HC and OC since Chuck Pagano's illness. He definitely has his team "playing to win", rather than "playing not to lose". Yesterday's close game with the Titans is a good example. Less than 2 minutes to play, Titans out of time-outs, Colts ball on their own 25 yard line, up by 4, 2nd and 8, and he has his rookie qb throw a 12-yard strike to his rookie TE over the middle ...(which looked to be into tight coverage!) Luck got the completion, and the Colts did the "victory formation" to win the game. MOST coaches probably would have played it safe at that point - run as much time off the clock as possible, punt it, and hope the defense could prevent a last-second touchdown. But Arians showed confidence in his offense, and it paid off. They've won 8 out of 10 since Arians took over for Pagano, and almost every win has been close, "gutty" football, requiring key calls in key situations, good clock management at "crunch time", and a willingness to take some risks - everything the Bills currently lack. Colts expect Pagano to be back on the sideline by the last game of the season, (and hopefully into the playoffs). I don't know that Arians would consider taking a HC job somewhere else next year if it were offered - but he's at least the TYPE of coach I'd hope the Bills would go after if they get the chance. GO BILLS!
  5. Would the Bills FO ever consider bring in Eric Mangini as a "defensive consultant"? Maybe he could talk "X's and O's" with Wanny, and figure out some way to get some production out of this unit. At this point, it sure couldn't hurt!
  6. fwiw - "Bleacher Report" says Bowe to B-Lo would be a good move/make sense: http://bleacherrepor...-the-postseason Go BILLS!
  7. Hope Tom Brady doesn't see this thread ... he's always looking for nice hotels for his family to stay at when the Pats* visit Buffalo ... GO BILLS!
  8. Jim also spoke with Stephen A and Skip Bayless on "First Take" this morning about the Bills/Jets matchup this weekend. Here's a link to a short clip from that segment: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8340044
  9. Herm Edwards wrote an article for ESPN Insider that rates all 32 NFL coaches. I was curious as to what he had to say about Chan Gailey, and where 'bouts he has him ranked. Anyone with Insider access care to read the article and let us know? http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8289148/nfl-ranking-all-32-nfl-coaches-2012-season GO BILLS!

  13. My favorite quote from this Pats' board thread was the "signature" of one of the posters: Bet that really took the sails out of their wind .... ;-)

  16. Bill Polian has landed on his feet again - this time as an analyst for ESPN. Polian to join ESPN as analyst
  17. Indianapolis Star is reporting that Colts have hired Baltimore DC Chuch Pagano to be their new head coach. Doesn't sound like they intend to keep Peyton ...
  18. I know he probably deserves most of what has happened to him, but I actually feel sorry for the guy. T.O. - broke and friendless
  19. IndyStar reports Metzelaars and Reich are fired along with Caldwell Wonder if the Bills have any interest in bringing in either of these guys?
  20. Scuttlebut here in Indy is that once the new GM is hired (announced today that it will be Ryan Grigson of the Iggles), they will quickly relieve Jim Caldwell of his head coaching duties and find new coach. Supposedly Gregg Williams is on the short list of candidates Irsay wants to talk with about that. There's also this:
  21. Thanks! Wonder if any team would have the nerve to try that? Sort of like the Saints on-side kicking after half-time to the Colts in their Super Bowl win ... except that they knew that if they didn't recover it, they would still have another half of football to try and "make up for it". Could be an interesting strategy against an "offensive juggernaut" ... like GB, NO, and the Cheatriots ....
