He's very accurate. -
WR John Brown (Ravens) to the Bills

The next week he had 7 catches for 130+ yards. There are games that you adjust the basic gameplan given who the opponent is, and there is also the early blowout factor. Why try any risky plays when you hold the opposing offense to 106 total yards and sack Marcus Mariota 11 times? -
WR John Brown (Ravens) to the Bills

Moderately interesting: as Carolina DC, McDermott faced John Brown two years in a row in the playoffs. In 2014, he had 4 catches (on 5 targets) for 34 yards in a loss to Carolina. In the 2015 NFC championship game vs. Carolina, Carson Palmer targeted Brown 8 times. He had 2 receptions for 23 yards. Anyway, you know that McDermott is going to be very familiar with his game given the intensity of the coaching that goes into playoff games. In a 2016 regular season game v. Carolina, Brown had 4 catches on 4 targets for 49 yards and a TD. -
WR John Brown (Ravens) to the Bills

I'd add that deep threats are by nature inconsistent. One week they have 4 catches for 147 yards and 2 TDs, and the next they have 1 catch for 11 yards. It balances out into a 1000 yard season and ypc of 17 or so. But on their big days, they can win games for you -- which is something that a player like Zay Jones simply cannot do ever. -

Never base assessments on the ups and downs of your fantasy team! -

That is misleading. The stomped TN, 21-0, in game 6, and the game was basically over at halftime. No need to go deep in that game after midway through the second quarter. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowJo02/gamelog/2018/ -

See the splits above. He was having a great year through the first 8 weeks - until the QB change, basically. -

He performed really well when Flacco was the QB - far above a #3. The numbers tell the story. -

Check out his splits from last year: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowJo02/splits/2018/ In the first 8 games, he had 31 catches for 586 yards (18.9 ypc) and 4 TDs, which prorates to 62 catches,1,172 yards, and 8 TDs. He also caught over 50 percent of the balls thrown his way--which is perfectly fine when your ypc is 19 yards per reception. In the final eight games, he caught 30 percent of the balls thrown his way. There must have been a QB change in Baltimore ... Anyway, the starkness of the divide is pretty remarkable. -

Bell ain't coming to Buffalo. -
He’s a very good player, and probably in any system. A) Barr rushes the passer well, doesn’t play center, and is better at what he does than Morse. Plus he’s not injured. B) Funchess plays WR, not center.

CJ Mosley to the Jets (5 yr, $85M, $51M gtd)

The amount of money is completely immaterial. What matters is portion/percentage of cap devoted to player/position. Don’t get mesmerized by the dollar figure. The cap goes up significantly every year anyway. -
RB Frank Gore (Dolphins) to the Bills

I hear where you're coming from, but Gore was genuinely good last season. -
RB Frank Gore (Dolphins) to the Bills

I wanna give you props because way back when people here were metaphorically high-fiving each other over Donohoe's brilliance for drafting McGahee, you repeatedly reminded everyone that McGahee only started for the U because the better RB (Gore) was injured. Gore is currently 521 yards behind Barry Sanders for #3 all time, and I'm betting he gets past him if he stays healthy. -

Basically, injured more often than not. Not impressed with this one. -

"Eh" is right. Like Johnson, another guy who missed most of last season due to injury (foot, in his case). -
Stafford is a good player and is perceived by players as such. I think that explains a lot.

I'm having a flashback to Pasadena on January 31, 1993, and I keep seeing Charles Haley spin-blasting through and around the left side of the o-line.

DeSean Jackson headed to Eagles in trade.
dave mcbride replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Only for Sproles. We need a veteran presence in the RB corps. -
He's a SB winner, had a great season in 2013, and was mostly terrific last year late in the season. I strongly believe that he's a genuinely good player. He's certainly in the top half of the league and about 50 times better than Bortles.

I don't think it's that big of a contract at all. That's max, though, and I'm sure that includes all-pro designations/super bowl victories. If he achieves those incentives, then he'll clearly have been worth it. The base is between $84-88 million. I don't know how much is guaranteed.
