The Knox drop was on the same drive as the Yeldon fumble. Also, you should never assume 7; always assume 3 when it comes to lost opportunities in the red zone. Touchdowns aren't easy to come by; short field goals are. I'm counting 13 missed points.

the Josh Allen streak nobody talks about
dave mcbride replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a hunch that this game is going to be the equivalent of a team of seal hunters clubbing a bunch of seal cubs to death. I just don't see Allen or the offense more broadly performing well against what looks to be an insanely good NE defense. The Bills have injuries too, just like NE. Yeldon is a steep downgrade from Singletary, and who knows if Felciano can go. If he stays true to form, Nsheke will go down with an injury in the late second/early third quarter, after which Cody Ford will take over. On to Tennessee. -
Bills weakness is becoming a trend in QTRs 2nd & 3rd

He's gotta start being more accurate on deep throws. If he doesn't, the negative aspects of the Bills offense will be exacerbated in coming weeks. -

One thing that hasn't gotten attention - Allen's inability to connect on long throws. He is 0-4 or 0-5 on downfield bombs this season, and none have been close except for the one that should have been picked. That deep inaccuracy is likely affecting how teams approach Allen now. One reason for this is the ridiculous number of jailbreaks by opposing d-lines the last couple of weeks. The Bills' pass blocking is not good, and injuries have played a huge role. -
Isn't his throwing hand basically injured? He went from good to bad pretty much immediately after suffering that injury against the Titans. Seems like it's playing a role.

I think he had a fair amount of good and a fair amount of bad. The pick throw seemed less a reaction to the grounding play than to the awful decision he made to throw across his body while under duress to sweeney in the red zone in the first half. He got lucky and it was a catch, but that was a ball that should NEVER have been thrown. He’s a cocky player, which i like, but he’s gotta eliminate the stupid. One other issue: the next deep ball he completes will be his first of the season. He’s 0-4 or 0-5 on those throws this year, and he’s either missing by a fair amount or throwing into double coverage. Great final drive, of course.

Pats* release Antonio Brown
dave mcbride replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I obviously don't know for sure, but I can only conclude that AB's decision to include his lawyer as a recipient on the threatening texts he sent to the woman derived from his belief that this would make them privileged communications! Anyway, there ain't no accounting for stupid .... -
The real problem for live attendance remains what the NFL has long been worried about: the ever-increasing quality of television. New TVs are phenomenal, and why go through the hassle of attending a game when you can watch it on your awesome TV?

The second guy being taken appears to be wearing a Giants Kurt Warner jersey. -
The greatest reach-for-need failure in the second round I can think of was Travares Tillman. Butler coveted Mike Brown (a great player), but he went in the high 30s. He was all set to draft Deon Grant, but Carolina picked him right before the Bills. He was stuck with the last remaining seemingly capable safety, and he drafted for need. Tillman was terrible. He should have traded up for Brown!

I don't think that Darby is exceptional. He had a good rookie season and remains the Eagles' best CB, but he's not really that good (he was torched repeatedly on Monday night). He's a solid pro, but he's not as good as, say, Paul Posluzny turned out to be (a guy the Bills traded up for in the second). He was still a good pick given how important quality CBs are. Roscoe was a good punt returner and nothing else.

Feels like Ramsey to bills an option...
dave mcbride replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is the new view, and I think it’s right. Regardless, as good as Ramsey is - and he’s really good -, he ain’t coming to Buffalo. I think Dallas or Philly, both teams that are all in for this year. He fits both defenses, and after watching Ronald Darby, the Eagles best CB, screw up repeatedly on Monday night, he’s a guy the Eagles should be targeting. -
Yes! Thanks. I mean, what the heck is he doing there? That is the very definition of an uncrisp route. He ran a corner route and the qb saw that he had a clear shot at the ez, and the receiver did not adjust. Granted, it was his second game, so all is forgiven, but a starting receiver has to be better than that. He basically blew an easy TD.

Are you confident he's going to be 100 percent in November? I'm certainly not.

I don't like Josh Rosen but I feel bad for him
dave mcbride replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of people here are acting as if they know Rosen personally and think that pre-draft character sabotage by anonymous scouts jockeying for leverage is reflective of who people really are. Sheesh. -
Torn ligaments in an ankle just sound like something you need more than 6-8 weeks to really recover from even if you can make it on the field after that time frame. ' While the signs are optimistic, Green declined to give any kind of timeline and refuted reports that it would take 6-8 weeks to heal. “I don’t know where they got the six to eight weeks from. It’s going to be longer than that,” Green said. “It’s just one of those things that has to heal on its own. When I feel I’m healthy enough to play at the level I’m used to playing, I just want to make sure it’s at 100 percent.”'

I love Green, but I'm concerned he's going to be hobbled all season, never being more than 80-85 percent.

People are aware that he's playing hurt, right? He was very accurate in game one until he injured his throwing hand, after which his accuracy declined. He is definitely not back to 100 percent yet. Again, his throwing hand is not 100 percent. He was photographed with a brace on his hand a few days before the game. It clearly is affecting him.
