He doesn't fit the system, and I would much rather have Bunkley and Tripplet rushing the passer from the inside. Imagine how much pressure we would get on the QB. Teams wouldn't be able to double Schobel and we wouldn't have to blitz as much. This is exactly the way the cover 2 is supposed to be played.

I have thought about this too, but I don't think they would do this. We need to draft someone who can come in and play DT for us. If we take W. Justice in the 1st then we could grab someone like McGargo in the 2nd if he falls. That will give us 2 guys who can come in and start right away. If we do something like Justice and Joseph are 1st 2 picks then we would have to take a chance of someone like Rodrique Wright, the DT from Texas who is very skilled but has a tag of taking plays off. If I were drafting for the Bills I would hope for something like Justice 1st, McCargo 2nd and a guard and a safety with our 3rd rounders.

Is Winston Justice the best pick for us at #8?
BuffBills#1 replied to HarkinBanks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At first I hated this, but now I think I would love it. We need to build our team from the lines, and having two you tackles like Justice and Peters could be big. Both are extremely athletic and if they can perform well our offense will be that much better. -
Better Value for Moulds: TO or 4th round pick
BuffBills#1 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
T.O. would never want to play in Buffalo, and we would have to give him a huge contract, not worth it. -
So Moulds IS getting some play
BuffBills#1 replied to Mile High's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is everyone talking about this like Green Bay really offered this. Just because one person said he "heard" something we think it might happen? This is stupid and untill I see prove I have to assume this post is false. -

Does anyone know if this is actually a legit offer though? -
OK, rather than moan about Marv...

Reggie Wells - OL - tendered offer sheet

Cardinals | Team meets with Wells to discuss offer sheet Mon, 20 Mar 2006 13:11:04 -0800 AzCardinals.com reports restricted free agent OG Reggie Wells (Cardinals) visited with Arizona Cardinals vice president of football operations Rod Graves and head coach Dennis Green to discuss his future with the Cardinals organization Monday, March 20. "We talked about Reggie's commitment and his feelings about staying with the Arizona Cardinals," said Graves following the meeting. "We also talked about expectations and the direction of the program." Arizona has the right to match the Buffalo Bills offer sheet and retain Wells. However, if the Cardinals elect not to match the offer, they will be compensated with a sixth round draft choice, the round in which they originally selected Wells in the 2003 draft. "I feel it was a very positive meeting," concluded Graves. "We'll evaluate our decision today and expect to have an announcement soon in respect to us matching the offer he received in Buffalo." This was from KFFL. Now obviously this doesn't say anything about him wanting out, but maybe just maybe that is what this discussion was about. Even though he says it was a "very positive meeting" he doesn't say that Wells said he wanted to come back. I don't know, I'm more just wishing I think. -
Shouldn't we have alot of cap room

I could be totally wrong, but that is what seems logical if you add everything up. -
DT Monsato Pope to Visit Monday
BuffBills#1 replied to HeyNowBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bunkley would be an ausome addition and I like him better then Ngata, but we won't be taking him. Ngata will be the choice if we go with DT. We need a big fat space eating DT, not a penetrating one. -
I'm going to assume we are going to release Moulds. That would end up saving 10 million dollars towards next year cap, wouldn't it. Clements 7.2 million dollar price tag will come off the books and hopefully we will have a long term contract worked out with him that would only pay him 4-5 million. We still have about 10 million left under the cap for this season and since there really aren't any big name free agents left that I see teams giving big money to, I'm going to make an educated guess that we'll have somewhere between 4-5 million left to spend before the season. Also, the salary cap goes up 7 million more next year i believe. Plus all of the cap hits on Adams, Williams, and Milloy would also come off the books i believe. Shouldn't all of that added up put us at somewhere around 28-30 million dollars in cap room next offseason?

That isn't cheap for a guard, but i still like the signing, or attempted signing. -
I would love to see the breakup of the deal if that is the case.

Bills | Contract update: J. Reed Fri, 17 Mar 2006 16:35:06 -0800 ESPN.com's John Clayton reports Buffalo Bills WR Josh Reed signed a four-year deal for $10 million, with a $2 million signing bonus to remain with the Bills. I officially say fire Levy. Why is this idiot giving bad players good contracts? There is no way in hell this guy would get this much money from another team.

Arizona has already stated they'll match anything, so why are we getting excited? -
I live in Washington, and Matt Bowen is terrible. His last year in GB he got torched in the playoffs when thrown into the starting role because of injuries ahead of him. In Washington he was just as bad. GB and Washington both didn't want this bum back. What is Levy doing?????

This is what the rest of the offseason
BuffBills#1 replied to BuffBills#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well at least we all are in agreement. Only problem is we'll be lucky if 1 of these things happens. Also, the way Snyder is throwing around money he'll probably buy all of these guys and make them the highest payed players in the league. -
Right now I believe we have between 10-11 million to spend. Taking out 2-3 million for the draft pool that leaves us at about 7.5 million to spend. After the release of Moulds, and Bernie Anderson that will free up another 6.5 million. We should have around 14 million more to spend. Sign Ryan Picket. (I'm thinking a deal that starts at about 3 million) Sign John Runyan. (The guy is 31 but is still nasty. I'm thinking his deal would start at about 2.5 million) Sign Kevin Mawae or another Center in free agency. I believe there is one from Tennessee that is pretty good. (This deal should start at about 2 mill.) Sign the best available SS that fits our system. Not sure who it could be, but I'm sure Levy has to have his eye on someone. (I'm guessing it would start at about 2 mill. as well though) That leaves us with about 4.5-5 million more to spend not including the draft pool. That should be used for depth players. Trade our 3rd and 4th rounder along with the 8th overall for Tennessee's 3rd overall pick. According to the value chart this is fair. With this pick we take Mario Williams. With our 2nd rounder we take the best available guard. I'm thinking one of these 3: Davin Joseph, Max Jean-Giles, Charles Spencer. Anyone one of them should be good enough to come in and start from day one. With our 3rd rounder take a safety so we can groom him. Obviously this would be my dream offseason, but this is what it would look like: Losman Mgcahee Shelton/possibly FA A. Davis L. Evans R. Parrish Royal/Everrett RT: John Runyan RG: Davin Joseph C: Kevin Mawae LG: Chris Valliral LT: Jason Peters DE: Mario Williams DT: Larry Tripplet DT: Ryan Pickett DE: Aaron Schobel LB's: Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell CB's: Clements, McGee FS: T. Vincent/R. Baker SS: 3rd round pick or FA

On Espn rumor centeral they said GB would be lucky to get a mid to late pick for Walker now that he is damaged goods. With a base salary of only 600,000 why wouldn't we trade our 5th for him? Save the 6 mill. with Moulds and go after better players.

Their offense is going to be good next year. Boldin, Fitzgerald, James, Warner, and can you imagine if they draft Vernon Davis.

Do you have links to the contract hit for the first year? -

BuffBills#1 replied to JimBob2232's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First off, we don't have nearly as much cap room as you think. We had about 15 million before free agency started. You think Tripplet, Royal, and Davis only count 5 mill. against the cap? It's probably somewhere between 7-8. That puts us at about 7.5 million left. We need somewhere between 3-4 million for the draft so that puts us at only 4 million under. We still have a bunch of holes to fill and 4 million isn't going to cut it. We still need a big run stuffer DT, and for now I'll say we won't have to sign a FA assuming we draft Ngata. In the 2nd round I'de assume we take a guard that will start from day one, either Joseph, Spencer, or Giles. You can't really rely on third rounders to be your starters in their first year, so the holes left to fill in free agency are SS, DE(possibly), RT,C, FB(possibly). 4 million dollars isn't going to get you all of that. We'll have no choice but to cut Moulds, and Bernie Anderson. That will get us close to 6.5 million more to spend. -
Bills interested in Robert Royal??

The Tampa playoff game he was terrible. Nothing special at all, probably better suited as a backup in this league.
