  1. Yes, but it is not uncommon to see them outside your house...
  2. I mean the last few years. No right now, there are a few brownish spots because there is a small concentration of fine fescue, which burns when the sun hits it, but last night should bring it back just fine. I hate dragging hoses around, so no sprinklers for me...
  3. Yeah, I can't see spending tons of dough on watering the lawn. It always comes back in the fall anyways. Can't afford 1k for a sprinkler system, and dragging hoses around sux. The little woman and I are expecting, so I am trying to cut costs since she will likely be staying home with the little bugger. Also, the hippy in my won't allow me to waste water on something like a lawn when we have a drought on. I'm getting fruity in my old age!
  4. I'm a bit further south than Scott, but in my area, it is not uncommon so see these so called "swarmers" you refer to. The big flying carpenter ants. As long as you see them outside, and not inside you should be ok I believe. My neighbor had an infestation however, so I have them coming out to check the house...
  5. Dude, my fescue lawn looks AWESOME from October to June, and like a hayfield from June to September. I have learned to accept it...
  6. I don't have any experience, but is seems unneccesary and expensive to me. I can fertilize and water my own seed, thanks. But some people do like it very much...
  7. So what? They called 19 out of like 50 penalties. Ah, don't mind me, I'm just grouchy today...
  8. Forgot he moved from FLA. Adjust times accordingly for WNY, as Scott suggests...
  9. Seedlings are VERY delicate, and it's not the actual heat, it's the Sunlight itself which burns em up. I recommend waiting. The patching stuff someone recommended is, IMO, not worth the effort. You still have to water it everyday, and it is ususally a mix of grasses, so if you want an entire Fescue lawn, I would go from seed, or sod in the fall...
  10. Someone should tell the refs that it is ok to call a penalty on Pittsburg once in a while...
  11. Absolutely correct, Don't bother until late September, unless you plan to water the piss out of it all summer...
  12. They are doing a surprisingly good job getting these things off in a timely manner the last few years, the hail storm on Atlantis non-withstanding. I was one who thought that this headlong pace of launches was going to get them in big, big trouble. So far, they've pulled it off well. As far as the toilets in space go, Mike Mullane wrote a very funny piece about going to the bathroom in space in his book Riding Rockets. His advice: Get naked, it's much easier to clean skin than a spacesuit...
  13. What AD said is absolutely true. However, I really don't want these so called "leaders" who have proven themselves to be untrustworthy and selfish to have the final say on what we do. Hey wait...
  14. Lucas did that about 10 years ago if you ask me... I thought several times (jungle chase scene for one) that this movie was similar to Pirates of the Carribean with some of it's ridiculous action sequences. For the record, any movie trying to get passed off as a second gen Indy film with the Mutt in it, won't get a dime of my money, at the theater or on DVD...
  15. I've been thinking more and more about this movie since I saw it on Saturday. I will have to say that it wasn't terrible, but I'd see it again and enjoy seeing it along with the "all day Indy" marathons on TCM. When it comes down to it, I'd rather have this movie than none at all, and I agree that it's ridiculous to say that this movie ruins all the other three for you. While I do wish that the story plot device had not been what it was, it was still good seeing Indy again. Although, unlike the other movies, there were a few parts where I groaned out loud at the idiocy of the CGI crap that Lucas INSISTS on putting in every movie he has involvement in...
  16. Yes, but death for WHOM? Perhaps the Cylons?
  17. Wow, and here I thought Temple of Doom was the best of the series...
  18. Boy oh boy, here we go again...
  19. POSSIBLE SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD: Allow me to reclarify: I wish Lucas would stop writing stories and personally directing (I know he didn't here). He was also one of the writers of this storyline in addition to executive producer. And I totally agree that they could never have met everyone's expectations with this (or the SW movies) and I went in expecting to have a good time and for the most part enjoyed the movie. I was disappointed at how much CGI they tried to put in, which looked out of place in an Indiana Jones movie. The ending was directly from the X-Files, but I will say no more on that subject, as some folks have not seen the movie. It's not that it was too far fetched, it's just been done before. All in all, yes, I did enjoy the movie. I would have rather had this movie than none, so I can't complain too hard...
  20. No way, that is SUPER cool Lori!
  21. They DO have like that, but Jones calls them by the incorrect name (Siafu) in the film. Siafu are native to africa and can number in the millions of members. When they get rolling throught the forest, NOTHING stands in thier way. Thier depiction was quite accurate. Regarding the movie, it was ok, like visiting with old friends again. The story was ultra-lame, but what do you expect from George "toy'boy" Lucas. God, I wish he'd stop making movies. However, I knew going in that they could NEVER meet my expectations, because the other three movies were part of my childhood and nothing could compete with that. It was fun and I like it, but I probably wouldn't watch it more than once or twice more, unlike the other three...
  22. Wow, I had NO idea people were so hard on Temple of Doom. I guess being 12 helped alot for me...
  23. That was the rumor for quite some time, along with Indy's son making an appearance. Not the part about Marion kicking the crap out of Willie, but that both would show up. Ah well, after 19 years lots change...
  24. The Wings win it in six games...
