Depends, of course, on who else I have. Jackson has been a major dissapointment so far, so I would already be looking at other week-to-week options. There are plenty of guys in my league who were availabel recently, so I picked up Denver's Pittmen. He is getting into the endzone a lot and wasn't drafted, so he'd be starting over Jackson this week. I have Lynch so he'll be my other RB, obviously.

All this...wait until the Pats* and Colts get going. Wait until Cassel gets some more experience, etc. Well, wait until Edwards gets more experience! Wait until Peters gets warmed up. Wait until Hardy develops some chemistry with Edwards. Wait until our D-line gels. Wait until Poz has a few more games under his belt. Wait...

In the column, the writer wrote Kiffen was walking around in the room during this whole ordeal beaming, smiling ear to ear. I would think Kiffen is less than happy with this columnist, as well, but he was probably laughing at the mess that this is for the entire organization.

Pats* still? After getting destroyed at home by the stinkin' fish?

Very nice. Thanks! Posluszny looks like a super hero there.

Gotta Love the Pats* Fans!
scribo replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, every team has hear the boo birds in their own stadium from time to time. But the point here is that the Pats* fans have recently enjoyed a tremendous amount of success and owe it to the team to give them a pass for a while, especially while they push on without Brady. I happen to agree that the Pats* have earned that pass and the fans should be grateful for what they had. I cannot even imagine how long the appreciation for the Bills would last if we were to win the Super Bowl just once. -
I love how they hit on the ages, but the Bills are the young guys in the block yet still at the top of the conference.
-
Exactly my point.

Green is one hit away from a coma. That sounds terrible, I know, but think about the last few years for this guy. And the Rams have possibly the worst o-line in the business. This is not good for Green. I think the Bills need to watch for some sort of ploy here. It is Scotty's little attempt at making the Bills prepare for two QBs. Linehan is about done in St. Louis, so he is desperate enough to try some deception.

HERE is a link to the 2008 story.

Thank you for the information, but you posted something that was clearly posted at the top of the board already. And you posted a news story without providing the link, which is a copyright no-no.

Raider exec faces off with a reporter 'Get your hands off me' Very funny stuff. You have to wonder how far a big time organization like the Raiders will go with this soap opera.
-
Do you have a link or a source you're citing? I still believe you're stating something as fact that is not correct.

How does that make sense? I usually think when a team beats another team especially this early in a season, the winning team should be ranked higher. But this is a very unique situation. The Chargers beat the Broncos but the NFL awarded the win to the Broncos because of an error, plain and simple. Rankings aren't standings. This is where common sense can be added in, and that's what is going on when the Chargers are ranked ahead of the Broncos. All that said, the Chargers aren't the best team in the AFC right now. I think the Bills could be ranked at #1, legitimately, with the Steelers just below the Bills, followed by the Titans and then the Chargers and Broncos.

That actual rule is that a person or organization owning a pro sports team cannot own an NFL team in the same market. So Cuban could own the Bills, presuming he does not move them to Dallas...
-
Do you have a link or a source to back that up? You stated it as a fact, and I think that is interesting, so please let me know where you got the info? Thanks.

The ascent of the AFC's underdogs early in this season has been remarkable. But to me, the most amazing aspect thus far is the collective collapse of the favored AFC teams. Yes, Brady*s knee is center stage and blamed for the Pats* apparent unraveling, but their defense was straight up destroyed Sunday. I don't recall ever seeing a Bellychick-coached team so confused, out of position and pushed around. The Pats* had (and still have) a chance to show they are more than just the supporting cast of a future HOF QB. Everyone knew the Jests shouldn't have been among the favored, but they were, so I won't waste my typing just to preach to the choir. The Colts and Jags have suffered serious rashes of injuries, but they both still have their real stars. They just collectively dropped their level of play to average. Many thought Manning could just will wins for this team. Not so, obviously. The Jags were many people's Super Bowl pick if not the Pats*. I would say that is now clearly a bad prediction. The Browns may be the most disappointing team in the NFL. I really thought they had an above-average team last season and only improved in the off-season. Well, they are playing below average and don't seem to have what it takes to turn it around this year. Last year's breakout player of the year (Anderson) is close to being benched, it is reported. What a disaster this is for that franchise. The Chargers got screwed by the refs against their biggest rival and lost a last-second heart-breaker in the season opener. OK, just bad luck? Maybe, but that was the story of the year for the Bills last season. That's what happens to teams on the cusp but ones that will be on the outside looking in come winter. The Chargers have the most talent-laden roster in the NFL. The have to win now, and they aren't. If you cannot win the close ones... The Steelers didn't really collapse, yet. It will be interesting to see how they rebound from the physical loss to Philly. It's a long season, and we've only just begun, but it is fantastic that these teams have started off so lackluster. It is just what the sport needed as the leaugue's famed parity was nearly endangered.

At least you ensured a thought of the Bills has gone through his mind now.

Thanks! Nice pics. I did that two years ago...won the passes on WCMF in Rochester for winning the station's online "you pick 'em" contest one week. We just stood there right on the sideline dring warm-ups. It was cool to see how huge some players were and how small others were.
-
I think the Bills game should be the obvious choice. Of course, I am a little biased. But first, the Raiders have a huge nationwide fan base spaninng all the time zones. Second, people want to see what all the buzz is about Trent Edwards and the Bills. Don't forget, Oakland's whole coaching fiasco will be in the news all week. And the amazing 4th quarter is a huge plus.
-
Damn, Trent, you already have the job... Really, it is great to see the coach is producing that kind of loyalty from his players. This should help in retaining talent as well as attracting it in future off-seasons, not to look past the already special season we're in right now.
-
The only area in which the Jests looked better than average was special teams, which matches up with us well. I do not foresee a problem with them for the Bills this season. Of course, Favre will have more time with the NJ team by then and should be in better sync. But I hope not, as I would love to see McGee and Greer each get a pick-6 off him.

Plus, the international poll says yes, too. We should just stop the season now and enter the post-season.

You've been drinking.

Marshawn is speaking to the media again
scribo replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if you were, say, a fan of a particular presidential candidate, you might not want to hear about his mistakes. But that's what the media does. There is whole lot wrong with the media today, but that isn't part of it. When they stop reporting on certain things ismply because there are groups who don't want to hear about it, then the media will be totally broken and nothing more than entertainment. And it's not over until the media says it's over.
