  1. I think the Chargers are the more likely choice to get moved to LA. Jacksonville is still very much a city with "up-side." It is growing and the NFL is still hoping the city's growth will translate into fanbase growth. I also think the Jags have a legit chance at the Super Bowl this year, which will help, to be sure. The Chargers, on the other hand, have the most talent-laden roster in football, but cannot get it together and will likely be sitting back home by mid-January. The San Diegoians know what they have in their team and just aren't passionate. The great things about all this is that I the Bills aren't really an option for Los Angeles.
  2. A true blue Bills fan could never veer off to another team. I say once a cheater, always a cheater. That said, if this guy wants to drop a bunch of cash into the pot keeping the Bills in Buffalo, tell him to buy as much Bills swag as he can fit into his car.
  3. OK, when I say "sure," I mean I see no reason whatsoever to believe otherwise. You've hear about extension talks with Evans because reporters are asking about it. No one is asking about Crowell, yet. Had you heard about talks with Butler or Williams before the announcement of their extensions? I hadn't. The front office is showing it is willing to pay now to keep this team together as it builds. It seems to me the Bills like Crowell, so I feel strongly that the Bills will ensure he is still on the team as they look to take it to the next level.
  4. This is hysterical (unless you're a Bucs' fan): http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/07/02/...ers-identified/ Aqib Talib and Cory Boyd, both drafted in April by the Buccaneers, were in a budget and finances meeting, where rookies from four teams were gathered. Talib and Boyd had been jawing at each other for a while, and it came to a head during that specific session. Word of wisdom, don't draft someone who says, “I’m back! I’m back liked cooked crack!”
  5. Must re-sign (in order of importance) Greer - lock him up now and save a bundle, to be sure Fast Freddy Jackson - he has a lot to play for this season Crowell - A high priority, and I am sure he will be around in 2010 Should re-sign (in order of importance) Fowler - If he isn't extended in the next month, he is likely gone next year George Wilson - could rise to the above list or fall off this list depending on this season Keith Ellison - Solid depth and will be paid to keep that depth
  6. I love Whitner's attitude, and he seemingly is backing it up with his dedication off the field, too.
  7. Thank you, Simon. That is exactly what I meant.
  8. I for one hope this never becomes the rule in Buffalo, but I am glad they're doing it at Arrowhead. Don't we play there this year? It is always a tough place to play, and I bet if this rule is followed it will bring the noise level down and the fan excitment level down. Sounds like a good thing for visiting teams, such as the Bills.
  9. Yeah, you're both jerks. Lt. Viti is, by all accounts, a great guy. He will likely head to active duty now with our great Army. God bless him and his family.
  10. I think Sando and a great deal of the other "reporters" covering pro-football these days were effectively strong-armed by the Pats* after the SpyGate story first started rocking headlines. I am not sure what the Pats* did other than restrict access to players, coaches and other sources, but it seemingly worked very well. I see fear of the Pats* in a lot of "reporting" these days. It certainly doesn't help that the SpyGate fiasco ended so anti-climatically and with little to no vindication for the few who stayed on the case until the end. I have to believe Kraft and Bellicheat and any one else tied to the organization called in a lot of favors to lean heavily on the sports writers community. It is a shame that/if so-called journalists caved.
  11. It was so obvious it was sickening. Mike Sando should be shot if he EVER calls himself a journalist after penning that.
  12. Where the hell is Vince Wilfork's name?
  13. I agree, and I think Prisco would agree with you. Based on his intro, I figured he was making these ratings on how they played last year.
  14. I agree 100 percent, and I think Mario Williams is rated too high on here, as well.
  15. The whole team: Aaron will have 20 sacks. McCargo will have 15. Poz will have 250 tackles. Greer will pick off 8. McKlevin will pull in 10 INTs. McGee 12 INTs and 10 kickoff returns for TDs. Whitner will pick off 15, force 10 fumbles, get 8 sacks and 175 tackles. And the defense won't let up more than 10 points in any one game. Lynch will rush for 2,004 yards and 25 TDs. Edwards will throw for 4,998 yards, 51 TDs and a mere 7 picks. Hardy will catch 15 TDs, Evans 22 TDs and Steve Johnson 25 TDs. The entire offensive line will be invited to Hawaii. Lindell will lead the league in extra points but, like Mooorman, get very few attempts otherwise. Depsite Lindell kicking off more than any other kicker, the team will be tops in coverage. Dick Jauron will earn coach of the year honors and retire shortly after the Super Bowl win. To be realistic, I think the "whole team" concept earns a 15-4 record.
  16. I'd agree Whinter has the chance this season to really set himself apart from most other safeties in the leauge. But this is a difficult one because there are several who seems to be primed this season for a break-out, specifically Lynch, Schobel, McGee on kick returns and even Edwards.
  17. This kat is a troll, without a doubt. I would venture to say he is a stinkin fish fan, and those are fighting words in my family. He uses "we" an awfully lot when talking about the Bills, but it seems as if the Bills have done nothing to ever make him happy, unless you count giving him reasons to complain. But he is high on the stinkin' fish and even the jests.
  18. http://i.cnn.net/si/multimedia/photo_galle...antsd.brady.jpg http://www.daylife.com/photo/0f2R4FL9pf0RW http://www.nydailynews.com/img/2008/02/04/...estallworth.jpg http://www.newsday.com/sports/columnists/n...,1186680.column http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2007/09/...nts2.ready.html http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/56486294.jp...40A659CEC4C8CB6 Good enough for me.
  19. Bills: Much in question, to include whether Edwards is the real deal and how Lynch's leagal matters will work oout. How Hardy does will mean a lot. A team seemingly on the rise. They love the Bills' heart. Pats*: Could be like the Bears the season after their Super Bowl loss to the Colts, but they didn't seem like they really believed that would be the case. Secondary could be an important problem, citing the loss of their corners. Jests: QB issue may be too big to overcome this year. They like the offensive line and defensive additions. Stinkin' fish: Tuna will right the ship. QB a big questions mark. Jason Taylor says he is ready to dance but they have doubts. Will win more than one game this year. They have no where to go but up.
  20. I understand these "pretend lists of wins" are just predictions, of course. But I was wondering, since you are so sure the Bills won't win 11 or more games this year, who you thought the Bills would lose to? I was asking for your prediction of who on this year's scehdule is a better team?
  21. Me, too, especially the Schobel/Stroud point. There is a lot of money in those two guys, and a lot of this year's success hinges on them coming through. Schobel hasn't had the luxury of having a real quality big guy inside in quite a while. Stroud, if healthy, is good and big enough that offenses have to put two lineman on him most downs and the fullback has to account for him on every passing play. If that fullback has to step up to try to cut Stroud, Schobel should be coming around the flank to swipe the ball out of Brady's hands.
  22. I thin our depth on the defensive side of the ball is obviously much stronger. We're not bad at the offense's skill postions, but I think we'd get killed though overall because our offensive line would be like swiss cheese. That said, Greer, Hardy and Parris are not on the second string (yet, anyway).
  23. Nah, this is the AFC Championship match-up. Now, if we have a great comeback, win this and go onto the Mascot Superbowl, I'd be worried. The AFC's winner will likely face the Redskins' chief, FWIW.
  24. The Falcon's OC is Meat Head. So Datish couldn't make on that team. I'd love for the Bills to take a chance on LeCharles Bentley. He was outstanding not all that long ago. If he can come back 80 percent from his injuries, he can beat out Fowler.
