  1. That's called dehydration, not actual weight loss. Truth be told, he should have lost weight working out in the cold - just by trying to stay warm. Now he'll be doing the humidity-crawl with the rest of the South.
  2. Right on. And Buftex, very well said. Someday I would like to hear the real reason for the demise of this team. I always felt that it was the DF/RJ fued. Wade really never recovered from it after DFs benching. And I always felt that was about our little egomaniac who put himself before the team. Lots of RJ jokes over the years, but when it comes to class, DF could have learned a few things from him.
  3. To the contrary, OJ was a big booster of Buffalo, and was always seen supporting the Bills in his national media role.
  4. I think the reason that many of us are not excited about WM, aside from those who don't think he is very good, is that his words and actions suggest that he would rather be somewhere else. We're Bills fans in part or whole (for most) because of Buffalo. Willis would rather hang in the Miami hood. What could be worst from a Bills fan's perspective? I would venture to suggest that if Marv was the GM 3 years ago, Travis would have been signed to a long term deal. And Willis would only have visited once every few years.
  5. Have to throw my hat in. There is enough evidence and speculation to suggest Marv knew what was going on. While I too hoped for a trade down, I am now convinced that Buffalo had a great draft in terms of getting high quality, high character football players for this team. I miss TDs mastery of the draft board, but have a feeling that Marv has made moves to put together a real team.
  6. We overpaid for RJ, but the price went up with the other teams competing for him. With JP the deal was about right on. You always lose value trading future picks (ie, a 2nd is worth a 1st next year.) If everyone can just hold on for a couple years, JP may look like the steal - for us.
  7. Comp sounds about right, but I would like to see some creative dealing from Marv. Especially after getting a lousy 5th for Moulds. How about getting STLs 2nd, and kicking back our 4th or 5th? It would be nice to hang onto both 3rd and get the 2nd. With the 2 3rds Im just not 'feelin' the third one.
  8. That is some seriously sissyfied fighting technique going on there. Too funny.
  9. I think you miss the point dawgg. That TD swung for the fences, that he "went for it" wasn't just about a popularity contest. The guy was a first rate wheeler and dealer. One of the best the NFL has had in awhile. TD is no longer here because a) the team didn't win, and b) he pissed off Ralph with the sign business at the end of last year. He is not NOT here because he was bad at his job. Dare I say, if he was still here the Moulds 5th would be a 3rd. People like to trash his drafts, but when we picked MW it was in a weak draft with plenty of other busts. He was hamstrung by the slot. Look back to the Henry draft. Sheer brilliance. The WM wasn't so bad either, eh? But once people make up their mind about something at TSW, you are either too good to be human, or actual human excrement. This is not the mecca of balanced thinking. It is the home of the dog-pile.
  10. Something just occured to me. Not only did he make it more interesting for us. It seemed that we were pretty much front and center in the off season as a team on the move. He was a mover and a shaker that garned national attention. It really is a shame he had to blow himself up. But I like how ajzepp put it: "The guy took his shots, and I dig that." That sums it up pretty nicely, doesn't it? Something we should all strive for, I dare say. Maybe this understanding can help the guy writing the next "he would take the high motor white guy" post. Maybe that guy will say "forgetaboutit" and leave it in the eithers of cyber space. Where it belongs...
  11. Good, fair post. Seems like everyone wants to demonize him, but the guy had flair. More draft day drama then just about any GM Buffalo has ever had. I will miss his trades, his working of the board. Marv will bore us to death. Lets hope he can do as well as, say, Butler who was no friend to trading.
  12. A Nate trade would almost certainly have to take place before the draft as a sign and trade. To do otherwise would cause the Bills to lose their Franchise Tag for the duration of Clement's contract. .
  13. Actually, Hawk makes more sense for them. There are many who think he is the top defensive player on the board, and possibly the best player in the draft.
  14. Ahhh...it feels good to REALLY hate the Dulfins again. They were starting become just another team. Thanks Nick. You 'da man!
  15. Agreed. You do not pass on perhaps the best player in the draft at #8 for a need pick. Besides, we may really need him. Alas, we're just dreaming....
  16. What player should Buffalo draft to esure that they are not competitive for the next 5 years?
  17. Well put, and thanks for saving me the trouble. To those of you whining about Ralph, or accusing him of whining, just remember this: his efforts are directly related to keeping the NFL playing field equal. It is not about him making more or less money relative to yesterday. It is about him being able to spend for players and coaches on equal footing with the big market teams. You know, the guys who sell tickets to practice, and game day tics for 2x what Ralph can charge. In Bills terms, for you slow learners, that mean......drum role please......KEEPING THE BILLS IN BUFFALO! If you are still unclear, no problem, we can explain it to you again when the Bills move to lala land.
  18. My sentiments exactly. I was a huge lifelong Mets fan and I didn't even watch the WS they played in last. Greed has left MLB dead to me, and if the Bills move, the NFL will not even be an afterthought in my world. Its happening even now. Yes, I am with SDS on his points, but the demise has been in progress for awhile. To wit: Consider that it takes about $200 on average to take a family of 4 to a game. In Buffalo that means hard working people are putting out big cash to see a game that keeps jacking up the rates so that owners and and players can make even more outrageous money. And we listen as players dare talk about "feeding their family." Disgusting. Why is it that such things must trend upward? I see why players wanted a bigger piece of the pie, but why o why must that pie grow like something out of The Blob? Why is it the prices are beginning to compete with a Broadway show? History teaches us that such greed eventually blows itself up. It is only a matter of time before these knuckleheads kill the golden egg laying goose.
  19. Yea really, like he doesn't think a white boy could stomp the sh-- out of him in a serious way...
  20. Thanks. I was going to reply, but you channeled my very words.
  21. Perhaps. Then again, it will also be the ruin of it. Reading what Ralph had to say really p%ssed me off. With guys like Snyder, Jones and Craft railroading in a new (big market) commish, the NFL will be one step away from the fate of MLB. I can't tell you much about those guys, I don't watch anymore. Haven't in 15 years. Since money makes the world go round, I suggest the NFL follow MLBs lead and bring back steriods. We can watch while all the player and team records fall. We may even get lucky and see a bunch of guys die on the field. That would be REAL entertainment. Screw the antiquated idea of rooting for your home team. Team loyalty. Player loyalty. That stuff is for pussies. We want ROLLERBALL!
  22. No, you are wrong. Moulds would not have shown up at mini camp or any other team activity. He would dangle in the wind until Buffalo cuts him before the season starts - assuming he does not renegotiate. While the whole world knew (thanks Marv) that Buffalo would not carry his current salary, that does not mean that Buffalo couldn't take their own sweet time in addressing his fate.
