Right now Cam Lewis is our number 1 slot depth. That’s more of his natural position. He’s played every DB position though. The Justin Jefferson play we all remember he was playing safety. He’s not really special teams depth. He’s a key player. I don’t see any other slot depth on the roster. He’s a roster lock.

Cam plays every DB position. He doesn’t play them good but he’s decent enough that he makes sense to keep on the roster. I thought he improved last year.

There was a lot of uncertainty about the cap in 2021. Allen could’ve risked it and played out the year. He probably gets close to $50 million if he does that. Russell Wilson got $49 million. Rodgers got $50 million. That’s where Allen would’ve been.

He would’ve gotten more than $43 million without the decrease in revenue that year.

Mahomes got 22.7%. Allen signed next. Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow are the 3 QB’s to set the market. Each one got more than the other.

Jordan Love - 21.5 % of the cap at signing Tua - 20.7 % of the cap at signing Allen - 23.5% of the cap at signing Allen at the same rate would get $60 million AAV. But he will probably get or top Burrow’s rate of 24%. Plus he won’t sign a new deal until at least next year. As I pointed out earlier, Allen will get around $65 million AAV when he signs his next deal. Can’t look at a contract signed today and compare it to one signed 3-4 years later. Not in the NFL with the cap always rising.

I think he’s a similar QB to what Goff was in LA. These are good QBs you can win with.

Because he’s worth what he gets and will get. The worst thing is to have a QB making elite money that’s not elite.
