  1. happy birthday!
  2. I decided to get the Bills visa extra points credit card, and when you spend x amt of dollars in the first 2 months or something, you get a free gift, a signed mini helmet. Yesterday, a box comes for me, and inside is the helmet. I was expecting the usual crap "free gift" that you get, but this thing is great! I was really impressed. Its about 7-8 inches long, about 6 inches tall, and Jim Kelly auto'ed the top of it. It also comes with a signed C.O.A. from the Bills regarding the signature. I'll try to post some pics of the helmet later on, but its real nice, a great piece of Bills memorabilia! btw-the card had no annual fee, so if you want some good bills stuff and need a CC, give this one a look. I think theres a link to the app on the bills website. [/shameless plug]

  4. If i had to watch that whiny crybaby ass pirate laviolette carry the cup around, i may have puked. !@#$ caro-whine-a!
  5. My thoughts exactly. i shut off the TV when the clock hit 0. Couldnt stand to see that bunch of whining divers taint the cup by carrying it around undeservedly.
  6. EA sports had a demo available to try out, with some features in the new game. Now i love madden, and i love the franchise mode, but i dont think i'll buy head coach. I am going to rent it and go from there, but here are some comments i had from the demo. 1. The menus and game navigation are very complicated, and it isnt streamlined at all. This may not matter to some, but it can get very frustrating and tedious trying to do a simple task such as signing a free agent or trading for a player. 2. The AI in the draft isnt the greatest. If you let the AI draft, the Texans will always select Hawk #1, because MLB is a need and RB isnt. Every game review i have seem and the times i played the demo, the packers always took Chris Gocong at #5. In real life he didnt go until the 3rd round. Bush usually fell to 7-10, and often times vince young fell to the early 20's. Also, guys like bunkley, tye hill, etc often didnt go until round 2. 3. Coaching the game got a bit tedious. Sure its fun for a bit, then it gets frustrating. You can make adjustments, ie telling your corners to play up or telling your line to watch for the blitz, but you cant really see what the other defense is doing because the camera angle is almost sideline. I am a die hard madden gamer, and i am going to give this game a chance and rent it, but from playing the demo i am not sold. The game just gets too tedious and time consuming to do the simplest tasks. The most fun parts of the game are the offseason, and the lack of streamlining makes that part of the game much too tedious.
  7. I think a lot fo people hate willis because he isnt a hard nosed blue collar lunch pail type of guy. He grew up in miami, which is a different world compared to buffalo. But willis brings it 100% on sundays, when it matters. I guarantee if willis went to school at michigan or ohio st or some other cold weather school, people wouldnt give him half the crap they do now. And as for ralph, the guy is almost 90. If willis couldnt beat him in tennis there'd be a problem. Just hit shots and make wilson run his old ass all over the court
  8. !@#$ Caro-whine-a. I hope edmonton puts a beatdown on them worse then game 6. Nothing would make me happier than to see recci and brindamour holding each other softly crying, with labia-lette whining in the backround.
  9. we'll be grilling and watching the game...go oil!!!
  10. I do agree with you that it is extremely difficult to do ANYTHING on offense with a sub-par line. As for the draft, it IS vital for smaller teams like buffalo to draft well, because we cant toss 50 million in SB's every offseason to free agents. I dont want to drag this into an arguement about this past draft, but trust me, i was disappointed about not selecting an o-linemen or 2 in the early rounds. I would have liked to see a G and a T/C drafted. We just had soo many holes to fill that i wont knock our draft too much. I know that having even just a solid o-line is the key to winning, and i really cant understand why the bills front office cannot grasp this concept. TD utterly refused to select any linemen early on as well as butler, and they decided to get by on other teams scraps. Linemen need to be treated like QB's. they need to develop and go through growing pains. A team simply cant have the turnover we have on a year to year basis. So thats where i was going with the playing together comment. As for our line now, a realistic hope is that fowler or reyes can be a above average starter for us for years to come, while the other one is a solid stop gap until we can get more talent. If they both turn out good, then great! I dont know a ton about line play and technique (WR's and DB's are my forte, the 2 positions i played ), but i think peters is more of a LT as he's more athletic. Villy will need to be replaced sooner rather than later, and gandy is solid, but not spectacular, and i wouldnt mind an upgrade. As of right now, this team still needs a T and a RG, and i hope that preston or one fo our draftees can develop, but we'll see. I know that was kind of a meadering post, but those were my line thoughts. the bills dont spend enough early picks on the line, and a good line is key to winning. hopefully someday soon they will realize this. Frankly, theres little reason why 1 day 1 pick every year shouldnt spent on the o-line.
  11. I think an o-line playing together for a few years and gelling, as both the steelers and seahawks lines have, has a lot more to do with success than just spending every high pick on the o-line. Also, a note about your guard theory. When were the guards selected in the first round? From the list, most (if not all) of them were selected in the bottom half of the first round, and a lot of them taken in the 20's. That means that the teams taking first round guards were already playoff contending or playoff teams. And a team being good has a hell of a lot more to do with them going to the super bowl than does the drafting of a first round guard. Correlation != causation.
  12. Either that, or if i was phil's caddie i would have snapped his driver in half by hole 13 or 14 the way he was hitting it. Damn you phil. you missed away the major. Phil = the US Open's B word.
  13. You bring up good points about us keeping wilson on the active roster. but if that was the case, mularkey screwed the pooch again by not giving wilson a shot at the end of the season. Hell, bench fast freddie and put wilson in if they kept him on the active roster so no other team would sign him. As for nance, i like what i have heard in mini-camp. Back to the original point of this thread, i'd love to see him stand out in camp and make the team, because he would give a big red zone threat. And those are extremely valuable. FSU this past season had freshman greg carr, a 6'6" WR, who at one point this season, had onyl 22 catches, but 9 TD's. Opposing CB's just couldnt defend the jump ball. I'd love to see the Bills having a threat like that.
  14. i see your point, i just dont agree with the rules i guess. (i played a few seasons of soccer in HS) Soccer has a lot of f'ed up rules that if removed, would make the game better. just a few: 1) yellow cards dont carryover to the next match. by far and away the most ridiculous rule. 2) I read your earlier post, but offsides is still very confusing. MAke it more clear cut. As well as screening the goalie. thats not interference, its a solid play to help your team score. Also, a question. If a player goes off due to injury, and they dont sub, their team plays down a player until the injured player can get back on the field?
  15. I dont think ABC went overboard in the coverage. They questioned the yellow cards on totti and pope in the first half. They said the red card by the italian was deserved. In the second half, they were definitely against the 2nd yellow card issued to pope. they were going on how it was a relatively clean tackle, and it didnt deserve a card. But they also commented that since the ref was over-officiating sooo much, that pope should have been more careful, knowing that those ticky tack calls were going to get carded. But they were incensed at the red card against mastroeni. And they had every right to be. That card was the biggest bull sh-- makeup call. Did it deserve a yellow? probably. but a red? Hell no.
  16. what also disturbs me is how he claims that the majority of NFL coaches and GM's are "clueless morons" because of some bust draft picks, and that LaDumbass knows best. Why isnt he a big time NFL talent evaluator? Also, in contradiction to himself, these same "clueless morons" didnt draft Nance, so all of a sudden these personnel guys are geniuses? I'm confused. So when they agree with ladumbass, coaches are posters are correct and brilliant, but when they dont agree with him, they are idiots and "parrots" WTF? And i sincerely hope he's a 13 year posting, because if thats an adult posting that gibberish, someone has some serious mental issues.
  17. BAWK! BAWK! keep parroting stats there.
  18. I cant see Italy playing for just the tie. If they win, they win the group and get the top seed. If they dont win the group, it means facing brazil in the next match. Playing for the tie would really cost them in the long run. I'd rather face australia than brazil.
  19. Ahhh, TBD Urban Myth #2 (number 1 was poasted a few threads back)...Willis McGahee held a press conference and announced himself the greatest back in the NFL. I'm not going to even get into this because apparently most of you have no reading comprehension and cannot understand what Willis actually said. He was asked about the best RB's and who he thought was the best, and he said "of course you are going to say that you are the best", then mentioned some other names. If Willis is blocking for Lionel Gates in week 1 against NE, then jauron and fairchild need to be shown the door before week 2. You dont ask that kind of talent to block for another 7th round draft pick who frankly, hasnt shown anything. I also didnt know endearing yourself to fans had any effect on the way you play the game. And plenty of people still like Willis and dont care what he does in the offseason so long as he stays out of criminal trouble.
  20. Now i am beginning to understand why there are soccer riots after watching this horrendous display of officiating. Sure these italians arent paying off these refs as well?
  21. What a fuggin joke of a makeup call right there on masteroni... that should be a yellow card at most, but to toss him for that was ridiculous.
  22. You are exactly right. I sincerely hope that laDumbass is 13 years old, because if hes is actually the age of an adult, that person has some serious mental growing up to do. Notice how if you use stats to back up an arguement, you are parroting, but if laDumbass uses them, he's "forming his own opinion". I also wonder the mental state of this poster who thinks all these NFL GM's and coaches are morons, but he knows all. Notice how KzooMike has see nance play, and he's "lying" but ladumbass claims to have watched nance, and claims he is the only true source on martin nance. what a pathetic human being. on a lighter note, congrats on baby coming! thats great news!
  23. Congrats for bringing nothing to this inane thread. I now understand why you think so highly of laDumbass.
  24. isnt this cute? LaDumbass got his little buddies to join in too. On the topic of Nance, here are my thoughts. Height is a good feature in a WR. This is not to say that small WR's cant make it, obviously they can and they can do quite well. Also, height has nothing to do with separation. If Nance cant separate, then he wont make it far in this league. What mickey has been saying is that given the Bills lack of height as a WR, Nance stands a better shot of making the roster, because he's taller than most and fills a void; a red-zone jump ball threat. Obviously this point in null and void if he sucks as a WR, but that remains to be seen. As mickey said, ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL, take the taller WR over the shorter one. Think about ti this way, Would you rather have a 5'9 Randy Moss, or a 6'4 Randy Moss? Edit: The reason LaDumbass is being piled on is because he has brought nothing to the table in either of his 2 threads except childish name calling, and his refusal to discuss anything. Also, he has taken everything said out of context, and just continued his relentless 3rd grade insults. Perhaps is he would grow up and learn how to talk like a big boy, people wouldnt pile on him and give his opinion more than 0 credibility.
  25. So, according to you, TALL = BAD.
