  1. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't seem to shake this documentary. Something about it REALLY bothers me...it has some sort of really dark feeling to it if that makes any sense. I'm always upset when I hear about young children dying, but something about this whole thing just doesn't sit well with me at all. I'm very disturbed by it...
  2. All I know is that we can't keep developing left tackles and then letting them go elsewhere. Sooner or later we need to solifidy the spot. I can't imagine Bell will demand huge money, although you never know nowadays...but if they don't make a legit effort at keeping him, that makes no sense to me. If they feel hairston is the better prospect on the left side, they better hope that he continues to improve cause I think he's better suited for the right.

  4. Well...in all fairness, I'd have to further investigate to be sure
  5. "... despite his friendly appearance, he’s actually a lazy pervert who’s always getting himself into unsavory situations." Brought to you by the same people who created the teenage girl dirty panties vending machine, probably...Japan is an interesting place.
  6. It's not really the same thing, but that article reminded me of a pretty cool film I saw recently called Another Earth. It's got some sci-fi undertones, but not really a sci-fi film, but it's worth a look. The whole idea of locating other civilizations comes into play.
  7. I agree. I'd rather play in a tough division than a pansy one. Look at the NFC East from the early 80s through the mid 90s. It was the best division in the NFL for a long time, and four out of the five teams were beating the hell out of each other year after year. Do you really think the Cowboys, Giants, and Redskins would have gone to that many Superbowls if that division wasn't as strong as it was? Even though the Iggles only went once in that time frame (after 1980 season), they were a TOUGH team, particularly on defense. Those teams made each other better, and that division sent the NFC rep to the SB and usually won it!) like 9 or 10 times from 1980 through 1995.
  8. We need to see a Chef Jim video up on youtube!!
  9. That is really badass...what does a basic set of these gonna set me back? Ballpark?
  10. These look like so much fun! I can see why you love em!
  11. Those make me want to pick up the drums again! I've never seen those before...very cool concept!
  12. I had to Google Roland drums to know what you were referring to...those are BADASS!!!
  13. I don't know what youtube is doing with their audio lately, but some of these clips - such as that Philly clip from '89 posted on pg 1 - sound REALLY good when you plug some headphones into the computer. I started noticing this when we had the Freddie Mercury thread a while back...some of those clips sounded fantastic!
  14. Yes...yes it would. I was hoping Barkley would come out, cause he seems like a legit gamer, but oh well.
  15. There's no way RGIII will be there at 10. I'd love to see it, but it won't happen.
  16. Happy New Year to you, too.
  17. This is stupid. Happy New Year.
  18. Meadster's been making me pee myself lately
  19. Nice! I hope you get the answer you're looking for
  20. That's a great point, and I hadn't really thought about Islam's lack of a "worldwide face", as you put it. It just seems that I'm always seeing American Muslims talking about unfair treatment and the way they are stereotyped (which I agree with them is totally wrong), but very very little condemnation of the acts of the extremists, particularly 911. Even on just an individual basis, whether it's an interview I've seen or an article I've read, I never seem to notice any effort on the part of the Islam community to attempt to separate themselves from the Bin Laden's of the world. I'm Catholic, and if someone were interviewing me about bombings at abortion clinics by other Catholics or fundamental Christians, there would be no doubt how I felt about that and I would make every effort to be clear that this sort of action was inexcusable and NOT what the Catholic faith teaches. So while I do agree with you about the worldwide face, it's even the individual examples I've seen where there is just no attempt at all to condemn the extremist actions...you know what I mean? You also make a great point about the media and that also plays a huge role in our perception, obviously. As for Maher, I like when he has a panel on there, but quite often it seems as if the guy belittles or dismisses the views of those who are "not on his side", and then he treats those with similar beliefs as he has with greater respect. It's just frustrating for me, because I'm a weirdo who actually likes it when others have a different viewpoint or belief system than what I have. I don't take it personally when others disagree with me, because I think one of the best ways to learn about life is to consider the views of others and compare them to your own. Sometimes when I do that I end up with a modified view on the issue that is sort of an evolution from where I stood before, you know? People seem to take offense or become insecure when others don't share their views, and I think that's what leads to a lot of our problems in this country. So you can play Devil's Advocate with me anytime, brother!
  21. Goals? Someone say goals?
  22. I can't stomach Maher anymore cause he's a condescending douchebag. He's clearly very intelligent and I know that people I respect enjoy his humor, but I can't get into him at all anymore. As for Muslims, my issue with them is that they seem to rarely, if ever, have a voice against all these extremists who are out there setting off bombs and threatening to destroy America or whatever. If Islam is a peaceful religion as they say, then get off your asses and start taking a stand against these crazy fukks who are misrepresenting your faith and causing Americans to react to you in the manner that many of us do. I've always been of the belief that every individual needs to find their own path in life in terms of their spirituality or lack of it. I don't take issue with anyone because of their religious beliefs, the fact that they are atheist, or whatever. But to me, Maher is just as big of a hypocrite (and equally a annoying) as these hard core Christians who go around with the "holier than thou" attitude. The only TRUTH here is that nobody knows for sure whether God exists or not. That's why we're called to have faith. Maher doesn't know God doesn't exist anymore than you or I know that he does.
  23. lol, this is the best post ever Happy New Year to you, Meadster!!!
  24. You got that right...that's why I'm glad I know the owner of one of the best concert venues in ATL...I don't go nearly as often as many of you guys do, but the times I have gone he's hooked me up. I know people at work who went to shows and they were shocked with how much more the tickets ended up being after all the fees. It's sort of like these informercials they have on now (I'm usually up late, so I'm privy to this sort of thing)...they have this product that they'll say you can have for only like $9. Then if you read the small print, it says that's just for the in-home trial, and if you keep it you'll be charged up the arse for the remainder. I bet people fall for that all the time...
