You bet. Let us know what you think as you get into it. It really is solid writing, I agree. When I'm not reading it, I find myself contemplating what has transpired so far during the day...can't wait to read more tonight

Anyone excited about the "Championship Game" tonight?
ajzepp replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess what I'm saying is that the argument I'm making would be moot if there was a playoff system. -
It's very amazing how much detail he puts into his writing. He's coming up with things about time travel that I never would have thought of. The way he's laying this story out is brilliant, IMO. I just need to stop reading at night, cause I end up getting tired faster than I want to! That makes perfect sense to me! I really enjoyed reading what you wrote about having a drink with your son, so it's clear how much they mean to you That brings up an interesting dilemma, though...what if you were put in the position of knowing someone ELSE had the ability to travel back in time? Someone you knew personally, perhaps? You may have the very same concerns and fears about that as you would if it were you going back.

I'm not following you. If there was a playoff system like the NFL, that would be great. If an NFL team can win three road games to get to the SB, then they deserve every bit of what they earn. But Bama lost to LSU in their own home stadium, and they didn't play in the SEC championship game. This is a perfect example of why there SHOULD be a playoff system in college. Bama should have had to win a playoff game or two in order to play for this title. I was so pissed when they lost that game at the end of the season...the cowboys vs LSU would have been a much more interesting game, IMO. -
Contract talks with Stevie Johnson
ajzepp replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd love to see us keep Stevie and then draft Alshon Jeffery. That would give Fitzy one target who excels at getting open horizontally and one who excels as a vertical target. I like DeSean Jackson as a playmaker, but Fitzy wouldn't be able to take advantage of his deep threat ability. -

I have a ton of respect for that program...but I can't stand Satan lol. I do want some of their players, though...their guys on D are more NFL ready than just about any other program's kids. -

I wish one of the other top teams hadn't crapped the bed, cause I'd rather see LSU playing one of them, but should be a great game. I just have a problem with a team playing for the national title when they didn't even play for their own conference championship...so I'll echo what PTR said...SCREW THE BCS!!!! -
So I know there are a lot of Stephen King fans on TBD, and a few months ago I happened to check and see what he was up to. He had a new book coming out in November called 11/22/63 that sounded very interesting to me. The book is about a guy who goes back in time in an attempt to thwart the Kennedy assassination. I've always been fascinated by the idea of being able to go back in time and it's always been fun to think about the possibilities of what could be done. Well I'm about 200 pages into this 800 page book and have really enjoyed it so far. King has touched upon a lot of the things I would think about should I ever find myself in that position, but he's also brought up many ideas and concepts that I hadn't even considered. If you had the power to go back in time, where would you go? What would you do? Would any part of you want to stay if you could or would you definitely want to come back? If you think about it, it's actually really interesting, especially to those who have a really developed understanding of history. I think it's obvious that most of us would want to go back to January of 1991, but what else would you want to do? What would you change?

Buddy Nix press conference today @11am

Is this a routine presser or somethin' up? -
We don't have the defense, so I said 2.

Jim Jarmusch mention! Mystery Train and Down by Law are two of the greatest films that hardly anyone has ever heard of, not to mention two of my favorites ever

Couldn't agree more...the MLB has become a corrupt, imbalanced shell of the game I loved as a kid. Thank God the NFL has provisions that allow small market teams to compete...or in the case of the Packers last year, even win the SB.
-
Wow, in all seriousness, I feel AWFUL for you Pirates fans. I grew up idolizing guys like Dave Parker and Willie Stargell. You had that last great run with Van Slyke, Bonds, and Bonilla, and then became a glorified farm team for the MLB. The imbalance in baseball is a shame, IMO. I've been a diehard Braves fan for 31 years, and even though we're not the Yankees or Red Sox, I feel blessed that we can field a competitive team. When I think about Pirates fans, I honestly get sick in my stomach because of how unfair it is for you. Baseball needs better competitive balance.

At risk of preventing bbb from actually watching this film, here is a link to a perspective that I honestly hadn't even considered. BUT, it would explain exactly why it is that I feel like there is something really, really dark hanging over this whole thing and why I can't let it go. http://pysih.com/2011/08/07/diane-schuler-an-interesting-perspective-downloadable-version/ -
Will Andre Reed be inducted into the H.O.F. this year?
ajzepp replied to Mr_Blizzard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We've been one of the best represented teams in Canton over the last ten years...we need to keep it goin'...c'mon Andre!!! -
Good point, he did seem to be pretty uncertain about his chances of staying. If we lose him to a huge offer from another team, that's one thing. But if we don't make him a fair, incentive-based offer then the front office is worse off than I thought. There is a way to protect our interests without letting him leave. Did you see how much thicker he was, though? This kid was a bean stalk when he came out of college.

I think they'll definitely draft an Olineman or three in this draft. And I think partly why Bell can be even better at LT is because of his wingspan. He's like a damn albatross, and that can be huge when trying to thwart edge rushers. He's not as stout against a bull rush type of player, but he's only just now hitting his athletic prime. He's already gotten significantly stronger since we drafted him (that was one of his main weaknesses...still is to a degree) but his frame can take more. If he can stay healthy, I think he's on the verge of becoming a very solid player. As Bill said, he's already "good", but he can be better. At RT I think they really like Pears and Hairston.

It works great! I watched an awesome documentary about Borg v. McEnroe on this app the other day. It doesn't cost anything to download it If you have Showtime, don't even bother with their stupid app...all it does is show clips and previews. -
Amazon sued in Seattle over revealing actress' age
ajzepp replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
What about the census? Doesn't that list age? -
There is an interview with him I just watched on my Bills app. I hadnt' seen him interviewed in quite a while and it really was surprising seeing how much bigger he's gotten since he was drafted. He was built more like his dad when he was drafted, but now he's much thicker and more muscular and looks like an NFL left tackle. Obviously he was a project when we drafted him, but he's made huge strides over the past few years. He seemed pretty sincere in how he considers B-lo his home and he didn't use his injuries as an excuse for anything. Being a free agent, you never know what someone will offer him, but I hope he stays a Bill. Pay him a fair base salary and include incentives for if/when he remains healthy.

It is definitely worth a viewing, IMO. It's on HBO-GO if you have trouble finding it. I watched it on my iPhone via the HBO-GO app. -

Personally, I think it's very clear what happened. As I was watching it, I was sort of creating my own theory in my head, and then this doctor came on and put it out there exactly as I saw it...so that confirmed it for me. -
Yes, since 2004 we've focused on developing two left tackles - Peters and Bell. Peters was an UDFA and Bell a 7th round pick. If you don't understand how Bell has developed into an above average player over the past few years, I don't know what to tell you...
