Can the Bills prevent another 0-6 year vs afc east??
Georgia Bill replied to NY Nole's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we are in for another "O-fer". Then at the end of the year Jauron will be fired, and we'll be right back where we were after firing Wade Phillips, Gregg Williams, and Mike Mularkey. Hoping the next coach is the one to bring us back to respectability. Groundhog day! -

Marshawn Lynch's return against the Fish
Georgia Bill replied to WellDressed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While our new Oline is holding up fairly well to the pass (given their newness), they've been doing a pretty good job at run blocking, probably better than we've had for awhile. Freddy's been taking advantage of it, I'm looking forward to seeing what Lynch can do. This could be an awesome 1-2 punch (and lord knows we need it)! -

The thing that i don't understand...
Georgia Bill replied to B Rob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a really good summary of the last four years. You get to the point where you feel torn as a Bills fan. You don't want to give up on them, as you want to think of yourself as a loyal fan, and they always seem to be just a little (potentially achieavable) bit short of where they need to be to step up to the playoff contender level. At the same time, part of you feels short changed, like maybe you've been playing the sucker. It seems being a Bills fan means you stay conflicted (afflicted might be a better word). -
4th-and-1 Revisited (Saints Game)
Georgia Bill replied to MRM33064's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's see 4th and 1 with 8 miunutes something to go, in your side of the field, don't go for it. You see we wanted to reserve that gutsy call for a little later, when we were further in the hole. Then we could get the chance to really show how good we are when we go for it on 4th and 23. Pathetic... -
Here we go, it has started.

That's a good strategy. At 5-1 last year a lot of us Bills fans got overly excited (self included). Short story - it's a long season and a lot can happen. -
The Best Part About Monday's Loss
Georgia Bill replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm hoping that the Bills are actually as good as they appeared to be in the game against NE (the first 54 minutes anyway). But... there's a gnawing concern that maybe NE is nowhere near as good as they used to be, especially defensively. Let's face it they lost a heck of a lot of talent on defense. Also,Brady was really off the first half, and once he started getting in his groove in the 4th quarter we didn't seem to have the answer. As a result of all that, I can't use the first game as much of a barometer, it's going to take quite a few more games. I'll stay hopeful, but for some reason, I have a hard time shaking the feeling that things aren't quite as good as they seemed. I don't know why, maybe there's just too much of a history of disappointment.. -
While I'm sure there may be many (including TO) who think he needs to be a bigger part of the offense, the question I pose is this: Assuming TO continues to draw double coverage, which inherently means one less defender ready to stuff the run or cover someone else, is that enough? Personally, I think if it helps open up the running game and the passing game for other targets, it means our offense goes from mediocre to pretty good. And that's not counting the plus factor when he does catch some balls. Thoughts?

I didn't even allow myself to get my hopes up til we went up by 11 more than halfway through the 4th. Then it happened, I started to believe we could actually do it. By opening up that hope, I opened the damn door again to the pain. Sure as scht, there it was, that heartwrenching oh no, not again, how is this possible pain. The weird thing is, I've felt it so many times before (38 years a Buffalo fan), it's almost like an old accustomed feeling. Not one I like by any means, but one I've grown so used to that now I just let it come in and roam around and do it's thing. Starts with disbelief, switches to anger, turn into a little disgust, a little "woe is me" self pity combined with "why do I put myself through this", and then I kind of just let it go. My only consolation is that now it doesn't stick with me as long.

Well that's certainly adding injury to insult

Story of a Bills fans life - heartbreaking loss. But heh, don't feel bad it was a great game...

They scored too fast!
-
WOW! Before the game I was saying I was never feeling as low about our chances. It ain't over yet, but we might just beat New England IN NEW ENGLAND!!!!! Please hold on!!!!!!!!!
-
It kinda sucks that about the most we can hope for out of the Bills this year is that they beat the point spread.

Edwards needs to be benched...
Georgia Bill replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My concern is twofold: 1) For the offense to be successful with TO, Trent will need to develop confidence in throwing the long ball. He shows very little of that confidence/ability yet, way too many check-down, dump off passes. 2) If above does not work, just how cool do you think TO is going to be with adapting by running short routes across the middle - where he is likely to take beatings? -

The deer in the headlights look - I've seen it before. Was it the Browns last year in a night game? It was painful to watch, so incredibly tentative/afraid, I felt sorry for him, but more sorry for the fans who had high expectations that night. Is he toast? -

Some say he's been sniffing around, but I think this dog's had his day. -
It's thinking like that has prevented us from having a solid O'line since the early 90's. We can never believe anyone is worth THAT much, so we keep paying less than great salaries, and getting less than great results. At a certain point you've got to make some gambles.

If that's so I guess all those wondering what TO's like off the field and whether he's a big partier or not will get their answers (and then some). Dat-dat-datta-datta-dat-dat-datta... come on into the big tent ladies and gentlemen, the circus is about to begin!
