  1. What makes you think Martz will target Baker?

If he's looked at any gamefilm from either New England game or the second Jets game, his passing chart will begin and end with wherever #24 lines up on defense.

Hopefully Jerry Gray figures this out at some point, and gives McGee a little help over the top? Leaving the kid out there by himself on practically every play is going to start messing with Terrence's confidence, if it hasn't already. JMO....

It has more to do with knowing Gray's blitz pattern. Gray will blitz on every down b/c he knows the Rams' o-line is hurting. This will leave McGee and Baker on islands every once in awhile, and I predict disaster - total doom.

  2. On the heels of his questionable decision to put an unpracticed JP in against a Buzzsaw, MM has perhaps topped himself by starting Baker against one of the best passing offenses in the NFL. Should've been done weeks ago if it was going to be done - at least then Baker would have had some practice. Now, he gets to learn against the Rams' potent aerial attack... good stuff. Expect a long day on Sunday.

(Btw, I'm not suggesting Reese isn't a no-talent assclown - clearly, he is - but the timing of this move is awful.)

  3. Everything I've heard indicates Seattle doesn't want to keep Alexander - for whatever reason, they don't think he's "tough enough." I expect a bidding war to take place between the Raiders, Eagles and Dolphins for James and Alexander, with Seattle ending up with one guy I left off of my list - believe it or not - Marshall Faulk.

  4. This may actually be the WORST offseason of the last 10 years to try to obtain value for a running back. As I count them, the following running backs will be free agents or trade assets, which will no doubt affact the market for TH:

Shaun Alexander (will likely go to Miami)

    Rudi Johnson

Ricky Williams (not a FA but will be traded, perhaps to the Raiders)

    LaMont Jordan

    Anthony Thomas

    Edgerrin James

    Michael Bennett

It will be tough to land a #2 for Henry with that market...

  5. If the coaches and TD came out and said what you purportedly want them to say, "We realize we probably won't win with Drew, but Shane Matthews is just Drew without the deep ball, and the Kid isn't ready yet," it would be a public relations TRAIN WRECK. Don't hit the panic button - relax. THEY KNOW.

  6. There is NO Savior of THIS Season. There IS an opportunity to get JP some well needed starting snaps.

    119617[/snapback]

And he'll get them - when he's ready, which may be December. There is no doubt about that.

And the reason that MM and TD keep publicly supporting Bledsoe is related to the point above - JP isn't ready, and Shane Matthews (1) would rather be golfing, and (2) won't sell any tickets. The only way the organization can keep the rest of its players motivated to try to win games before JP gets in there is to exude confidence about Bledsoe - sorry, that's the reality. They have to say what they're saying so that the rest of the players don't dog it.

  7. I'm sorry, but some of you are just being ridiculous. There is no one, NO ONE, the coaches, GM and owner included, who still think Drew Bledsoe "has it." I guarantee you, people, THEY KNOW. Donahoe knows. Mularkey knows. Those two knew last year, because they (1) drafted his replacement in the first round, and (2) demanded he take a pay cut. Now, it's not their fault that a fluke injury set back JP's timetable, but those are the cards we've been dealt - it happens. Had Troy Vincent's sole contribution to our season not been to f' up our prize rookie (fitting, btw, given our D's over-agressiveness, lack of discipline and control - simply, their stupidity), I'm all but certain JP would have started the second half of the Ravens game and every other game since.

HOWEVER, at this point, there is nothing worse that MM could do than panic and put JP into a situation in which he's not ready, and which the odds of him failing are significant. If you look back at the history of rookie QBs, the number one source of their long-term failure has been situations where they were put in before they were ready. It's killer - it can wreck their confidence and derail their entire career. Who knows at what point Bledsoe "jumped the shark" and developed happy feet - it may have happened in New England, it may have been last year's game in Miami - but God forbid that happen to Losman at this stage in his career. Look, the season is over. Losman will start the last 3-4 games, guaranteed, and it likely won't be pretty to watch. There is NO POINT, after one week of practice and 4 plays, for this coaching staff to annoint him the Savior of the Season, which would almost guarantee his failure. No point. You people need to understand that - I want to win now as much as any of you, but the long-term health of this franchise suggests some patience.

  8. Where else would you rather spend a weekend, honestly? Anyway, we're staying until Monday for the sole purpose of watching all of the games on Sunday at a Sports Book, any suggestions as to which book? Any suggestions as to bets? None of the lines look all that apealing to me this Sunday (and I don't bet on games the Bills are involved in, as a rule).

    GO BILLS.

  9. Hopefully his Israeli counterpart is soon to follow.

Why do you have to equate Sharon to Arafat every time Arafat is mentioned? You're ignorantly, stupidly, obscenely wrong (although I don't approve of Sharon, there's just no freakin' comparison, hombre).

  10. And yet if you read the New York Times this morning you'd think this was Nelson Mandela. Arafat's chief accomplishment has been to obtain legitimacy for slaughtering unsuspecting civilians... he was able to convince the Left, due in large part to the historic anti-Semitism in the far Left, that he was in fact a "liberator." Well, now you have fringes of the far Left (see: Chomsky) digging for justifications for 9-11, Zarqawi, Hamas, etc. It's just sick. (Incidentally, Nietzshe predicted this would happen.)

  11. NE injury report

OUT: Law, Poole; QUESTIONABLE: Branch, Chatham; PROBABLE: Samuel, Izzo, Brady, Miller.

I'm not sure what your point is, but that reminds me - I was thinking the Bills should go no-huddle on O. I know the gameplan is to control the clock, etc. etc., however I think we should take advantage of THEIR young corners, not allow their D to huddle up, and let Drew get in a rhythm to take the crowd out of it.

  12. I fully expect the Pats coming out with 5wrs, not even trying to run for most of the first half. They'll try to test the Bills' young corners, and try to get an early lead so that they can blitz Bledsoe. It'll be one of those games where the Pats run like 18 straight pass plays. The Bills HAVE to come out strong out of the gate and make sure they don't give up 2 quick TDs in the first quarter (like the last two Foxboro games have been like).

    Just my theory.

  13. First of all the postal servie is an amazing band.

Second of all do you guys realize modest mouse as many other albums?  The moon and antarica, a long drive, and lonsome crowded wests are classic, far superior then good news

Yes, although I think their other albums are far less consistent (and interesting). Great guitar work, though.
