Kelly - I agree EXCEPT that the Lions didn't BLITZ - this was by design - the Bills didn't blitz, either. Let's hold off on this one.
-
Not a tackle to speak of tonight... this guy will NOT make the team.
-
Smith was an undrafted FA, just not a rookie.
-
Shaud Williams, Lawrence Smith, Rashad Baker, Luke Lawton, Jabari Greer - Modrak earned his paycheck this offseason.
-
The run defense sucked last year in pre-season, if anyone remembers, and even if you don't, I'm sure you'll remember those calling for Sam's head because he looked like he didn't care (and he didn't). Run defense won't be a problem come the real season, and I'm sure you'd be pissed if Sam or Pat got injured trying to stop the Lions' amazing running attack.
Ya - thanks for posting this - it's true. We were all freakin' out last preseason too - it was the same thing. They'll be fine on opening day (gulp... I hope).
Besides - the Lions had 64 yards passing in the first half.
-
Every time someone committed a penalty on the kickoff team I would make them do 50 pushups at the 50 yard-line, in front of the entire stadium. Sheesh I hate those things.
-
I signed up for that - but I keep getting an error message "Invalid menu handle." Help!!!

They have to be goofy if they don't axe Zolman. Hard to think they'de have 4 TE's after cutting Peters. Looks like Campbell-Euhus-Neufield to me.
I'd look for only 4 WR's. Since a 5-WR set occurs only a very few times a season, Euhus is supposed to have fair hands so I'd consider him as a 5th WR (and if you have to contemplate a 5-WR set, you are in pretty deep doo anyway...).
With question marks on OL and DL, and probably D-backs, they aren't in a position to be luxurious with skill players IMO.
Not a chance - Moulds, Reed, Evans, Aiken and Shaw all make the team. Euhus isn't ready to operate out of the spread formation - I doubt he does anything other than special teams this year.
-
1 fullback (IMO Lawton, because for the difference in $$ there isn't too much of a difference in ability)
4 safeties (bye bye Prileau)
No long snapper (cya, Dorenbos)
4 d-tackles (goodbye to Bannan, Sape)

REUTERS is reporting that a joke was stolen from comedian Dennis Miller today. Authorities are investigating all possible leads, including a rumor that the thief might have posted the joke on a Bills-related message board.
-
I think you can't rule out that they'll ditch both of those scrubs and put MacFarland on the PS, and pick up some recently-cut vets instead (a la Marcus Price).
-
This might be our last chance to say goodbye to him tonight - amazing how far his "star" has fallen. He went from starting RG to third-string after a couple of horrid performances, and I just don't see him making the team. I think Sullivan gets cut too (because he has no interest in being an NFL player), and perhaps the Bills pick up one or two cast-offs from other teams for McNally to work with. These two guys are just wastes of roster spots, IMO.
-
Look, frankly, it all comes down to a few key things - everything else is just surplusage:
1) gameplanning
2) in-game adjustments (including decisions like challenges, etc.)
3) toughness
GW talked a huge game about all 3, which won me over at first and made me really want to like him. He then failed miserably at all 3, but was somehow able to talk his big game back up after each Sunday Debacle (hence my Board Handle). So far, MM is relatively softspoken, straightforward, and seemingly competent - but the test will be on Sundays. NOT Tuesdays, and certainly not Saturdays in July.
(whoa, my girlfriend just caught me typing this and thinks I'm a huge dork. F' it.)

Great thread, even though you stole my joke...

(and you spelled thread "TREAD")

I dont want to turn this into a race issue, (but that's what I am doing) because i HATE when people use the race card for every little thing, but I bet you if (IF) Coy Wire was a fast, athletic, tall black kid, with the EXACT same talent (he would be a young Lawyer Milloy) , he wouldnt have HALF the fans he does today. ( I explain why he has fans below) He would be torn apart for his poor play. (There would be a CW Sucks thread)
Am I saying that our fans (white, beer lovin', over 35, blue collar) are racist? Absolutly not. It is just that in this day of the NFL, the very best athletes at that position {and most other positions} is (are) black. People ( I assume) enjoy rooting for coy wire because he is a young, SHORT, somewhat overacheiving {for his size} white kid from east bumblef--k (California) who for some reason they feel they can relate to. (You can't like him just because he's a Buffalo Bill) The loveable loser, maybe? (-e) (Yeah, Tasker & Pike were losers)
He sucks (at changing positions) and he's shown it.(that's why he's one of four for player of the game at bb.com today) He does play with heart (that's not important in the NFL) but ask "Rudy" {ya know, from the movie} and he will tell you that heart will get you nothing but one gimmee sack after years of hard work. ( except a degree from Notre Dame, a movie deal and a career as a motivational speaker)
Go ahead and flame away - but please realize that what I said is more than likely true.
I could be wrong, but isn't Wire half Asian? IF so, you may be a jackass.
-
RUDY. WE WILL NEVER BE AN ELITE MESSAGE BOARD AS LONG AS YOU CONTINUE TO CREATE THREADS.
No more starting threads for one month. Give it a rest, man, please.
-
Rudy, I have an idea - how about you take a break from starting threads? You can still post, but, for at least awhile, put to bed your attention-craving pathology for starting doomsday "news" threads. How about it? At least until the season starts.
-
Ouch. We now have our very own Jason Blair. A TSW Stephen Glass. A forum Martha Stewart (because you're also a B word).
-
Sullivan has no DESIRE. You're right that he played well a few years back when he was forced into the starting lineup - and how did he respond? He begged not to be put back at guard the following season, telling the coaches he'd rather be a backup tackle than a starting guard. He should've been cut right then - NO NFL PLAYER WORTH HIS OWN HYDE WOULD RATHER BE A BACKUP THAN A STARTER. The guy is a B word, plain and simple - I can't wait until we cut him.
-
I know, the guy hasn't done a damn thing to justify anyone wanting him... BUT, I like what I've seen of him. He's a leader, he's old for a "young QB", he'd be cheap, and he'd fit in the offense.
That's my vote.
-
You overlook another important factor - the ticket sale boost that bringing in Flutie would generate.
-
I'm trying to hack through all of the Chicken Little threads to figure out how a few specific players performed. Answers would be much appreciated:
1) Lawrence Smtih
2) Coy Wire
3) Sam Aiken
4) Rashad Baker
5) Jabari Greer
6) Jason Gildon
7) Kelsay/Denney
Thanks!

Don't be surprised if Pucillo still gets cut and they pick up someone else at o-line or d-line.
