  1. The run defense sucked last year in pre-season, if anyone remembers, and even if you don't,  I'm sure you'll remember those calling for Sam's head because he looked like he didn't care (and he didn't).  Run defense won't be a problem come the real season, and I'm sure you'd be pissed if Sam or Pat got injured trying to stop the Lions' amazing running attack.

Ya - thanks for posting this - it's true. We were all freakin' out last preseason too - it was the same thing. They'll be fine on opening day (gulp... I hope).

Besides - the Lions had 64 yards passing in the first half.

  2. They have to be goofy if they don't axe Zolman.  Hard to think they'de have 4 TE's after cutting Peters. Looks like Campbell-Euhus-Neufield to me.

I'd look for only 4 WR's. Since a 5-WR set occurs only a very few times a season, Euhus is supposed to have fair hands so I'd consider him as a 5th WR (and if you have to contemplate a 5-WR set, you are in pretty deep doo anyway...).

With question marks on OL and DL, and probably D-backs, they aren't in a position to be luxurious with skill players IMO.  :w00t:

Not a chance - Moulds, Reed, Evans, Aiken and Shaw all make the team. Euhus isn't ready to operate out of the spread formation - I doubt he does anything other than special teams this year.

  3. This might be our last chance to say goodbye to him tonight - amazing how far his "star" has fallen. He went from starting RG to third-string after a couple of horrid performances, and I just don't see him making the team. I think Sullivan gets cut too (because he has no interest in being an NFL player), and perhaps the Bills pick up one or two cast-offs from other teams for McNally to work with. These two guys are just wastes of roster spots, IMO.

  4. Look, frankly, it all comes down to a few key things - everything else is just surplusage:

    1) gameplanning

    2) in-game adjustments (including decisions like challenges, etc.)

    3) toughness

GW talked a huge game about all 3, which won me over at first and made me really want to like him. He then failed miserably at all 3, but was somehow able to talk his big game back up after each Sunday Debacle (hence my Board Handle). So far, MM is relatively softspoken, straightforward, and seemingly competent - but the test will be on Sundays. NOT Tuesdays, and certainly not Saturdays in July.

(whoa, my girlfriend just caught me typing this and thinks I'm a huge dork. F' it.)

  5. I dont want to turn this into a race issue, (but that's what I am doing) because i HATE when people use the race card for every little thing, but I bet you if (IF) Coy Wire was a fast, athletic, tall black kid, with the EXACT same talent (he would be a young Lawyer Milloy) , he wouldnt have HALF the fans he does today. ( I explain why he has fans below)  He would be torn apart for his poor play. (There would be a CW Sucks thread)

Am I saying that our fans (white, beer lovin', over 35, blue collar) are racist? Absolutly not. It is just that in this day of the NFL, the very best athletes at that position {and most other positions} is (are) black. People ( I assume) enjoy rooting for coy wire because he is a young, SHORT, somewhat overacheiving {for his size} white kid from east bumblef--k (California) who for some reason they feel they can relate to. (You can't like him just because he's a Buffalo Bill) The loveable loser, maybe? (-e)  (Yeah, Tasker & Pike were losers)

He sucks (at changing positions) and he's shown it.(that's why he's one of four for player of the game at bb.com today) He does play with heart (that's not important in the NFL) but ask "Rudy" {ya know, from the movie} and he will tell you that heart will get you nothing but one gimmee sack after years of hard work. ( except a degree from Notre Dame, a movie deal and a career as a motivational speaker)

Go ahead and flame away - but please realize that what I said is more than likely true.

I could be wrong, but isn't Wire half Asian? IF so, you may be a jackass.

  6. Sullivan has no DESIRE. You're right that he played well a few years back when he was forced into the starting lineup - and how did he respond? He begged not to be put back at guard the following season, telling the coaches he'd rather be a backup tackle than a starting guard. He should've been cut right then - NO NFL PLAYER WORTH HIS OWN HYDE WOULD RATHER BE A BACKUP THAN A STARTER. The guy is a B word, plain and simple - I can't wait until we cut him.
