Me neither Magox... me neither. But stay thirsty my friend, stay thirsty. For when it comes to a 2 party system... the party you want to attend, is the after party. -

Fitzpatrick's Cannon
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What with all of the debate over Fitzpatrick's arm, YE OLE took the liberty of adding a poll question to this here fiasco of a thread! Lets base our opinion on good science, shall we? -
Wade Phillips uses a "Jauronism"

Chris Watson would have caught that punt. Roscoe's more of a punt fumbler, than a punt catcher. -
Fitzpatrick's Cannon
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But alas, in our darkest hour, Ryan Fitzpatrick is there to lift us from the losing way. He will be our KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR... coming to Bills Fans emotional rescue! Fitzy with that cannon arm, I can see it now.. stretching the field, throwing the deep out... throwing the skinny post... throwing the wheel route. -
Fitzpatrick's Cannon
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AVP says Fitzy's got a STRONG arm! He said they're about to stretch the field yo! -
YE OLE has been as big a proponent of Trent as anyone, but let me say this... Fitzpatrick has a CANNON for an arm! Best arm strength we've had since Bledsoe... maybe even better! I'd like to see Young Ryan chuck it side by side next to Bledsoe and see whose ball travels further in the air! Even AVP knows... it's time to stretch the field!

This thread has officially morphed into an uncontrollable beast now that YE OLE' hath joined the fray! Hold on tight boys and girls, THE HOOTINANNY is fin' to begin! To Gordio- You are walking on thin ice with your critique. Ye Ole' has been around these parts for a decade in one way or another, and he has seen many a poster go down this path, and get bani-SHED from the discussion. Now if you'll excuse YE OLE' he must go drop the hammer on some associates not doing their job.

Jairus Byrd Cheer
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only thing I can say about that is... *BUMP* -
Whenever Jairus Byrd makes a play, lets all stand up and yell "BYYYYYRRRRRRDDDDDD MAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!!" and then pause for 3 counts and do a little Nature Boy Ric Flair "WHOOOOO!!!!!"
-
But at least Fitzpatrick would pull out the driver once in a while. I digress, LA, you know Ye Ole' has been a big proponent of Trent in his time here, but I too have grown frustrated with the constant check down. While I don't disagree that the line is horrible, I would like to see the ball go downfield more frequently. Even if they're not great throws, just try... let us see something different than a 3 yd. check down when it's 3rd and 13.

Trent Dilfer said it best this morning on ESPN
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then you don't want to be facing Ye Ole' on Madden 10, sporting the Chargers playbook. Cuz it's gonna be 12 play drive, everytime, and I'm going to bust the "Ye Ole' Bench Switch" the "Ye Ole' Inside Cross" the "Ye Ole' quick toss" and the "Ye Ole' HB Dive" allll day boyeeeeee. That's how Ye Ole' operates. 4 yds per play and ain't nothin you can do to stop it, rinse and repeat. It's like death by paper cut. I think it admirable that our staff also likes such a check down offense, conservative gameplan, as it much work in real football as well, because if it's in the game... it's in the game... boyeeeeee P.S. sometimes Ye Ole' runs the Ye Ole' Stick Route as well... for posterity sake of course -
If we sign Jeff Garcia, lets all call him Jeff "Abu" Garcia... for posterity sake of course.

Schonert Was Right
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree to an extent. I would cut this staff some slack for the time being if they would put Fitzpatrick in there and see what happens. I don't know if it's the concussion or what, but Trent is not the same guy anymore. When he first got here, and we got on that roll at the beginning of last season he was sharp and quick with his delivery. 3 steps and the ball was out. And the thing that made Trent so good was even when he was hitting check downs, he was hitting his guys in stride and getting great YAC to move the chains. Now Trent is horribly inaccurate on these throws, to the point that when the catch is made, the RB's are fighting for their lives because the ball is so misplaced. I was a huge believer in Trent up to this point, but he's looking eerily similar to RJ at this point. Instead of 3 steps and fire, on target, in stride, he's dropping back... waiting... waiting... sack/fumble/etc. The mental process just isn't what it was. -
I can't say that this is the worst team ever... but this might be the worst offense ever. It wasn't good under Schonert, but it was a far sight better than this garbage. 20 points total in the last 3 games??? Turk was right, this is a Pop Warner offense. I'm pretty sure RJ could come back and suit up with the '01 squad and outperform this group. The other side of this coin that is so frustrating, is the release of Dockery, Walker, and trade of Peters. We heard that their heart wasn't in it, they were lazy, couldn't keep up with the no huddle... etc. Well guess what? I'll take a lazy Dockery, and out of shape Walker, or Jason Peters in a heart beat right now. The same BS happened when we released Sam Adams. He was "fat" he was "lazy" was the excuse then. But the D-Line was much better with him. You can't just jettison these players and expect young, hungry, street free agents and assorted 7th rd. picks to replace them... I don't care how committed they are, they're simply not good players. This is just horrible all the way around.

1990 Bills vs. Rest of Schedule
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cleveland Browns W 41-3 This game would be a rout... plain and simple. @NY Jets W 24-10 Jets playing good defense, but not enough to compete in this one. @Carolina Panthers W 44-17 Should cruise to another victory in this one Houston Texans W 34-17 Texans play well, keep it close for a while. BYE @Tennessee Titans W 28-14 @Jacksonville Jaguars W 34-7 Miami Dolphins W 42-20 New York Jets W 21-14 @Kansas City Chiefs W 38-7 New England Patriots W 31-17 Indianapolis Colts L 24-28 @Atlanta Falcons L 17-28 With the division locked up, time to rest the starters 11-5 and they'd surely blaze a trail to the Super Bowl -
1990 Bills vs. Rest of Schedule
Cotton Fitzsimmons replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Ye" ... I like it. I went from Cotton to Old Cotton and then to Ole' Cotton. Then late in the '03 season I got a lecture from some MAROON who used to hang around here who shall remain nameless at this present juncture, about how Ole' Cotton should be Ye Old Cotton as it is traditional Quaker or some such BS. Now you have effectively shortened to YE... and thus the legend continues... -
An interesting thread that should produce some interesting, thought provoking, debate. Here is the question I pose to my fellow Stadium Wallers: What if... the '09 Bills were replaced with the '90 Bills and they finished out the rest of this schedule. Mind you, they are starting from a 1-3 hole... lets have a break down of W/L game by game for the remaining schedule: Cleveland Browns @NY Jets @Carolina Panthers Houston Texans BYE @Tennessee Titans @Jacksonville Jaguars Miami Dolphins New York Jets @Kansas City Chiefs New England Patriots Indianapolis Colts @Atlanta Falcons 12 games left... please feel welcome to insert any commentary and predicted scores of each game as well as how the game would play out in your mind. Also, if you think that our beloved '90 team would win enough games to become playoff eligible please project playoff scenarios as well.
