Bills Draft Visit Spotlight- Isaiah Spiller Texas A&M RB

You smell that? That's "the process". -
I think that's the wrong decision this season at 1 or 2. Ryan Bates and Rodger Saffold aren't sitting this season. Ike Boettger is a solid reserve. I don't think you should spend a 1st or 2nd Round pick on someone who's not going to see much playing time this season when there's positions that need starters or reserves that will see much more playing time.

Todd McShay’s latest 2 round mock draft!
BillsFanForever19 replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't see it happening. As I stated in an earlier post, we're at a little over 8 million under the cap. It's going to take around 3 to sign our Draft Picks. You don't want to go into the regular season at 0. Most teams keep 2-3 in case of injuries or surprise releases. So whomever we sign will not be of the Stephon Gilmore or James Bradberry variety (especially when the latter will cost a Draft Pick and we won't be signing him to a costly long term deal). I think the plan at Veteran CB is to get a bargain on a one year deal as Training Camp comes near and guys get desperate. But that's to add to the depth chart that will include a high Draft Pick. Without Tre, we're not going to start the season with just a Steven Nelson like vet we sign late, alongside Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis. If the plan were to address CB2 with a vet, we'd have been in on someone of substance right off the bat. The fact that we haven't clearly points to them looking for a long term cost controlled option in the Draft. Circumvented by another solid bargain guy late in the Offseason. -

Because it wasn't considered serious and his recovery has him missing no time at all? His timetable has him back at 100% by Training Camp. -
Todd McShay’s latest 2 round mock draft!

I like Christian Watson a lot. But he's a guy who was looked at as a late 2nd to 3rd Round Pick who has improved his stock to a high 2nd Round pick. Maybe someone who could sneak into the last couple picks of Round 1. 25 is too high for him. As for the veteran Corner situation, we're not signing anyone long term if we make a move. Beane isn't going to pay what he's paying Tre and give big money to someone on the other side as well, with the amount of big contracts we have on the books already and the number of guys we need to extend in the future. Anyone we sign would be a 1 year stop gap. And I highly doubt it will be a James Bradberry (especially when it will cost a Draft Pick and would just be a 1 year rental) or a Stephon Gilmore. We have a little over 8 million right now. It will take about 3 to sign our Draft Picks. And Beane, like most teams, like to keep around 2-3 going into the season in case of emergency. Beane's actions this offseason have shown that be realizes that you can't just have 1 solid CB and a bunch of average guys and that we want an upgrade from Levi Wallace. This was proven by letting him walk even though they easily could have re-signed him. The only way you do this long term at a cost controlled level is to Draft one high. If the plan were to solidify that position strictly with a vet, he'd have done that by now. The fact that he hasn't all but tips his hand. I do believe a bargain vet CB will be signed. At best, a Steven Nelson or a Bryce Callahan. But again, it would be a one year deal. And with Tre White most likely out for a few games at the start of the season, you still need more than just that. BIt of a long winded reply, I know. But basically I'm saying - there is no way in hell you pass on Andrew Booth for Christian Watson. Even if you plan on signing Steven Nelson. You take Booth and if you really like a Christian Watson or Skyy Moore, you trade up from 57. -
A nice prospect to groom if Feliciano gets the boot.

Dawkins and Brown are both under contract Long Term. Both have earned their starting positions, Dawkins at a Pro Bowl level and Brown showing he was way ahead of schedule and has room for growth. Drafting an OT in Round 1 makes no sense. -
Am I the only one who hasn't completely given up on Zack Moss?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
IMO Zack Moss' current role on this team is a Training Camp battle with Duke Johnson to be the #3 RB on this team. He had two seasons of opportunities and their utilizing him as a healthy scratch down the stretch and their signing of J.D. McKissic (even though it fell through) shows they've lost faith in him to be the #2 RB. Right now he's battling for the roster spot held by Matt Breida last season and T.J. Yeldon before it. -
That kid who asked "can you bring Josh Allen?" 😂

Todd McShay’s latest 2 round mock draft!
BillsFanForever19 replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
My take on Running Back is you don't take one in the First Round this year, period, end of statement. If you land a CB like Gardner, Stingley, Booth, or McDuffie in Round 1 and Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker III are available AND there isn't a WR there that has fallen further than you'd expect (like Skyy Moore or Christian Watson), you can take either Walker or Hall in Round 2. But only one of those those two. Otherwise, I'm generally eyeing James Cook in Round 3. I'd be pleased in this scenario. -
Maybe. But I don't see O-Line being a priority in the first couple rounds. We lost Daryl Williams and Jon Feliciano. We signed Rodger Saffold and Greg Mancz as well as retaining Ryan Bates, Ike Boettger, and Bobby Hart. The starting Line is written in pen this season already. I'm sure we'll draft a Lineman or two. But I don't see it being until Round 3 or 4 at the earliest.
-
He must be a real good guy on the Practice Field and in the Film Room. Because they love them some Bobby Hart. Hopefully Tommy Doyle takes a step forward and Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown stay healthy and that's all he'll need to be.
-
It WAS a big priority. But in signing Rodger Saffold and Greg Mancz and retaining Ryan Bates and Ike Boettger - it's been addressed. The starting Line is set for this season. Though there's a lot of one year deals there, I still don't think you're taking a Lineman in Round 1 or 2. Just mid round developmental guys for the coming seasons.

Diggs Extended 4 more years breaking news per WGR 550
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm just speaking about the Diggs move itself. There were people thinking the Diggs move in and of itself meant Stephon Gilmore or anyone we wanted could be signed. It would require more than just the Diggs move. -

So 6.1 was added. I had heard that if cap was saved, it could be somewhere between 5 on the low end, 9 on the high end. We were just somewhere around 275,000 under yesterday, this brings us to just under 6.5 million under. We'll need somewhere between 2.5 to 3 to sign Draft picks. So maybe we make a small move or two, at the minimum level or just above it. But he also likes to have a little space in case of emergency for the season. Long story short, I don't think it changes our position all that much. Just gives us the space we need to be in okay shape for the Draft and in case of emergency. -
I've been saying it all offseason on posts around here, both Beane and McDermott have been transparent in saying on multiple occasions that we need speed. With that in mind, I've been convinced that we're going to draft someone who has a 4.41 40 or better. So I'm not surprised that we'd be interested in Moore. Much like others, I'd hope it wouldn't be at 25. Preferably, we'd trade down a few slots and pick up some more picks or trade up from 57 for him. In my mind the list of guys we're probably targeting are: Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, or Chris Olave in Round 1 (would have to move up for Wilson, definitely. Olave, maybe) Jahan Dotson, Skyy Moore, Christian Watson, Alec Pierce, or Calvin Austin III in Round 2 (will probably have to trade up from 57 for Dotson, Moore or Watson) Velus Moore, Bo Melton, Tyquan Thornton, or Danny Gray between Rounds 3 to 7.

Beane: Good to see you Trevon, why don't you step over here. Have you ever seen the movie "Face Off"? *Dane Jackson strapped to a machine* -
Do you take a corner in the first?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Billsfanatixs's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. I also think if there's a guy Beane really likes and fears he may not make it to 25, he'll move up. -
Metchie is really good value from a talent standpoint in Round 3. Kind of hard to pass that up. However, as I've stated in previous posts, this entire offseason both Beane and McDermott have preached needing speed on offense. Walker being a 4.38 guy helps out of the backfield. And while OJ Howard's 4.5 doesn't sound like much, for a man his size out of the TE position, that is fast. But I feel that they're looking for an added element of speed with the WR roster spot vacated by Emmanuel Sanders. So I'm not entirely convinced Metchie would be one of the guys we'd be looking at. Again though, the talent and the value would be tempting. I think in this scenario, we'd still look to add in further rounds. I'd have eyes on Velus Jones, Bo Melton, Tyquan Thornton, or Danny Gray as the Draft goes on. I don't get the feeling that they think much of Marquez Stevenson. As evidenced by them not using him at all last season, even when we needed speed and needed help with injuries. So Metchie could take Sanders roster spot and one of those guys could battle with Stevenson, the loser moving to the Practice Squad.

Reach of the century. And I thought George Pickens going at 22 over Jameson Williams, Jahan Dotson, and Christian McCaffrey was a wild pick. Geesh.

Yes, but this isn't confirmation. Just speculation. Is it likely? Yes. But we don't know for sure. It's been reported as an extension, not a completely new deal. -

Could you provide a link? I've yet to hear anyone who has any info on what the contract looks like. Just fan speculation. -

BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would wholeheartedly disagree that the Diggs extension was done now simply because they wanted cap space. It was done now because we want to keep him in the fold for years to come, keep him happy with all the other big deals that were handed out to WR's, and because he's wanted a new deal since the day we traded for him over two seasons ago. The signing has been billed as an "extension". Not a completely new deal. When we extended Josh, his contract stayed the same and the new numbers came in the extension. It's possible they reworked these two years, but it's not a given. Especially when you consider his number now isn't excessive in the grand scheme of top WR's. -

We don't know yet. We'll have to wait until his contract details are posted on Spotrac. People are assuming his cap number was changed for this season. But to me it's just as likely that his contract stays the same for the next two years and the new money is on the backend with a prorated signing bonus up front.
