  1. Ask the British how much worse it can get... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/8011321.stm 50% Tax Rates and significantly reduced deductions....Reykjavik on the Thames just got much worse....
  2. The Jets may be interested in Pettigrew? http://www.nypost.com/seven/04212009/sport...n_te_165431.htm Personally, I don't think he gets past Philly at 21, if we want him, we may just have to buck up at 11 (or prefer to deal down to the late teens).
  3. And if he grew up? Seems like the man ate some humble pie and is better for it, per the article. A 7th rounder is not much more than a lottery ticket anyway.
  4. He was one of the top recruits in terms of ability, if he got his life together and has his head screwed on straight, you get get 1st round talent out of a 7th rounder. Willie Williams Article Thoughts?
  5. Its funny...the gov't took the Buffet contract, that was intended to be between GS and Buffet and used it as the template. They changed very little. Now Buffet is a private investor, a governmental investor would require vastly different terms/conditions/reps/warranties etc. However, given the speed the gov't moved at to sign up banks, they figured they'd just use best the best available document and not create one themselves that contained the appropriate conditions. There really is no conspiracy here, just using an inappropriate document to govern the transaction.
  6. Going into an uncapped year? No way the train is over, in fact, its only accelerating. Wait till every game is pay-per-view.
  7. How do you know that he did not want to be here? He wanted to get paid, yes, but I'm sure if Buffalo paid him, he would have wanted to be here just fine.
  8. What money should you pay one of the top LT's in the NFL? Cause in 2-3 years $11 mill will look like a bargain.
  9. My guess is that Peters will be 1st team All-Pro this year and we will, again, look cheap and foolish.
  10. Legalize & regulate marijuana. 50% of the problem is solved. Decriminalize penalties for users of other drugs with less than a certain amount. Use remaining ATF budget (freed from marijuana enforcement) to secure border against harder drugs. Make it impossible for an illegal in this country to obtain a firearm of any kind legally. Increase prison penalties for anyone caught selling illegal or unregistered firearms. How am I doin?
  11. Darcy is a fine head scout. I love Ruff. Darcy is a constrained by Quinn, who really runs that show. Same would be with another GM.
  12. Cut Kelsey and give his $$ to Peters in addition to our offer. Problem solved, b/c no guaranteed contracts in the NFL. Then take Ayers with #11. Instant Upgrade.
  13. Those were the examples the original poster gave. And last I looked, the Twins and A's have made the playoffs since 1999.
  14. Even small market teams buck up for the big star...re: Justin Morneau or Joe Mauer with Minn; Eric Chavez and Miguel Tejada a few years ago for the A's.
  15. And the year before that. And before that, even. Except it was generally not off the edge. It was up the middle.
  16. And the extra $9 mil or so a year that they got from Tor? Ralphie's pocket?
  17. Have to admit I was wrong there. I thought McGahee would be one of the all-time greats, based on college production. Didn't realize he had a $0.02 head.
  18. Don't know. I would have to know exactly what his assignment was on every play, watch every play via coaches film (focusing solely on Peters) and then I would have a reasonably informed opinion.
  19. Me neitehr. Richard Seymour & Co. will overpower the left side of our line, Trent will have no time to throw, TO will start bitchin about not having the ball, Freddie Jackson will hold out and Luynch is suspended, so no running game. I wonder if we keep within 4 touchdowns and Trent actually walks off the field?
  20. Lets go Yankees.
  21. Depends, does ol cheapo Ralphie give the money to players like Peters or Pat Williams or put it in his pocket? I'm on record as saying I'd pay double for my season tickets if Ralphie would put the money to paying players, all I want to do is win a SB. If he wants to put it in his pocket, I say choke on it.
  22. For a couple more $$$, its sure was. Let the Bills offer $10-11 mil per and he stays a bill.
  23. Yippee, I love having more chances for the front office to show what astute talent evaluators they are when it comes to the secondary. What do you think....CB, S, CB? Or S, CB, CB? Perhaps a WR who can also return punts. Can't have enough targets right?
  24. You'd get 8 games of decent play at the LT slot.
  25. Yep, my thoughts exactly. He'll go to Philly at 21.
