  1. No...I view it infrequently, and wasn't accessing it during the problems here.
  2. FWIW Dean, I also ran iterations of my virus checker and spyware programs. Nothing detected.
  3. Not a party to Eliot Spitzer scandal? Ray Cooklis, Editorial Board Member, Cincinnati Enquirer 03/13/08 "Eliot Spitzer is a Democrat. There. At least somebody's said it right up front. If you're watching the news accounts of the soon-to-be-ex-New York governor's call-girl scandal and resignation this week, you'd be listening in vain to find out what party he belongs to. NBC's Today Show never mentioned Spitzer's party during 11 segments about him on its Tuesday broadcast, according to Media Research Center, which tracks media bias. Neither ABC's nor NBC's evening newscasts Tuesday identified him as a Democrat, but put the party tag on Republicans responding to the scandal. The New York Times' story online Wednesday, for example, identified Spitzer as a Democrat in the 17th paragraph. The Associated Press story that appeared on the Enquirer's Web site buried it in the 18th paragraph. Contrast that with recent stories about Republican Sen. Sen. Larry Craig, whose lawyers are trying to invalidate his guilty plea for soliciting sex in a Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport men's room last year. The Associated Press noted Craig's political party in the first paragraph of its story, as did the Washington Post. CNN had it in the second paragraph, as did the Minneapolis Star-Tribune."... http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...30310/1090/EDIT
  4. Should we hold off on things like re-entering PM email addresses, avatars and the like, until things settle down?
  5. What's that thing that gobbles up everything we type? Googlebot?
  6. In the 'Welcome Back' thread, page 1 is blank, but page 2 displays.
  7. How did his hair look?
  8. I love your new avatar. Please keep it.
  9. Have you ever heard of an abacus crashing? NO.
  10. Don't worry. You'll be back come Easter Sunday.
  11. I see that. It's all kinda sad...almost a years' worth of the collected drivel of a couple thousand folks...up in smoke.
  12. Here's my prediction: 280 carries for 1,115 yards and 7 rush tds.
  13. It's the least you can do... "Beginning June 1, customers who purchase a ticket online at delta.com will have the option to contribute toward the offset of carbon emissions associated with air travel through a donation to The Conservation Fund. Contributions of $5.50 for a domestic roundtrip flight and $11 for an international roundtrip flight will be used by The Conservation Fund to plant trees throughout the U.S. and abroad. A small portion of the donation also supports the organization’s education and outreach efforts." http://news.delta.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=10650
  14. I forget exactly, but the Ft. Pitt Tunnel comes in from the west, following a steep, long downgrade. They built a gravel turn-off for runaway trucks, after a semi lost brakes, flew down the hill, through the tunnel and across the bridge and killed a couple of folks. Another impressive night time sight is coming out of the Liberty Tubes that run through the base of Mount Washington . You turn off of Rt. 51 (Carson Street) to enter them. There are two inclines. I don't recall the name of the other one. There is a light-rail trolley that runs from the southern well-to-do suburb of Mt. Lebanon and into the city.
  15. Milwaukee's Best Ice. $9.95 for 24 cans. I smoke cigarettes...what does taste matter to me?
  16. Yes, indeed. Also the Inclines going up Mount Washington. Beautiful vista; PGH is a stunning sight...the Mon and Allegheny forming the Ohio River. One can take a ferry to the ballparks from the south bank of the Ohio, from IIRC Station Square, and old 2 story rail station converted to eateries and spiffy shops.
  17. OH has bought more motorcycles specifically to target those weavers, tailgaters, etc. The theory being that the motorcycle cop on the road is harder for the miscreants to detect . Here in OH, as elsewhere, cities are trying to implement stop-light cameras. The claim being they stop accidents. The goal being revenue. It's my understanding that they increase crashes as folks stop quickly to avoid betting ticketed, and get rear-ended..or race to beat the light . Also there are question about who gets a fine? They record the car's plate...but who is driving? I've read that the simple idea of setting the signal so that all 4 directions experience a simultaneous red light for at least 1 second really does help. If it's revenue they are after, I suggest they sent out police crews to multiple intersections and start ticketing those who fail to use their turn signals. A city that did that would become as rich as Croesus...
  18. Wasn't Jones traded to the Jets?
  19. Unless it's a very notable personage, the media won't print the name of a suicide because they know it can cause other cases, be it because they were inspired to do so by the coverage or they wanted some macabre attention. NBC is currently wringing their hands...tears dripping into their wallets. Another tidbit of media hypocrisy: They work diligently to report a bomb threat anywhere...unless it's a media outlet that was threatened. If a tv station in your area got a threat, the other stations will not report it, lest they too get a threat. Of course, they're always up for bashing Christianity... Oh, the local radio here reports 3 instances of spray paint vandalism about town "Kill Cho's Family"...
  20. 1) Don't over-rate Lewis. I'd prefer another HC, here in Cincy. He's a proven game-day dud, but will play out his contract same as all B'gals coaches. Owner Brown won't give up a thin dime and won't buy out a contract... 2) The CIN defense was lights out until their LB corps, and SS got wiped out after game #3. As well as 4 games lost by a starting CB - O'Neal. No doubt Nelson is in their sights. Rookie phenom Madieu Williams had a less-than-good recovery from injury last season, and got exposed by the LB injuries. SS Kevin Kaesviharn led the NFL in int's by safties, but he scooted to another club. Their DL actually played well 4th round rookie Peko was impressive...but the collapse of the LB corps had more to do with their lousy run D showing. They lost FA DT Shaun Smith to CLE. He wasn't a flashy player, but was a DT that could not be moved. He served the purpose. I think they would be ecstatic if Branch fell to #18. They certainly consider Nelson, Hall, Poz among others.
  21. They could have hired - on the cheap - CIN's FA Kenny Watson, who would have been a nice addition to their "RBBC". PSU grad. Has moxie plus civility...clutch player. Exceptional hands. Situational player, but if called on, is a proven smart, effective blocker. He can give 10+ worthwhile carries - easy. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235389
  22. I sell indulgences, like Tetzel did. 3 bucks for spelling errors.
  23. Getting Turner at high price is idiotic. Re-sign critical players.
