re: Aussiew's Australian Tea Cake. I've made it several times. It's excellent - just remember to use Caster (bar) sugar for the top cinnamon/sugar dusting. Caster sugar is an intermediate grind size between regular granulated sugar and confectioner's sugar.

It's curious. Cases are being reported all over the globe -the rapid transport of folks via airline traffic, it's assumed. Whats' really curious is that the fatalities seem to be heavily concentrated in Mexico. I've not heard a breakdown of this unfortunate deaths - were they primarily rural folks? I've no doubt the Mexican authorities are performing autopsies on the victims, to try to understand why their nation seems to be so hard hit. I have no knowledge of the WHO, but their ratcheting up of their alert "levels" does give one pause. I'm willing to believe that in today's everybody-is-so-precious mantra, they might be overstating. We shall see.

The buzz here in CIN lately, is the anger being expressed by city retirees over the thought of their zero-cost medical coverage now having to face a $100 yearly deductible and a $10 co-pay for a doctor visit. All scripts, of course, are paid 100%. And still getting 90% of their highest salary - per month - when they retire. It pays to be an apparatchik loyal to the Party, eh?
