Very nice! In a smoky 1960's coffeehouse full of beatniks, this would get a rousing round of finger snaps.

Happy B'Day, gents!

I own an XP paid-for update cd and a Win98 OEM cd... What's a "slipstream"? Stop the jargon...or when you ask about a problem with your Cavalier I won't tell you how to bend up the Korean hat when you need to torque a top strut tit. Or how to adjust a hood peter, or how to remove a cat walk or deal with reticent ox-head nuts.

Dunno. If I'm the opponent and watched the last two years' film on TE, his non-swiveling head and checkdown tendencies, I'll make da*n sure to put a DB in TO's face right at the LOS, and use the the 5 yards' worth of uncallable interference and an elbow chop to his mug if I can get away with it before the ball is launched. I would to work against TO getting downfield or cutting into the flat against me. I'll risk being suckered into a pass interference penalty for 3 yards and a 1st down.

Whew! It feels good to be back on my feet

That's a sudden onset, John. Out of the blue, you imply. Have you been paying attention to your diet and keeping up with the glucose monitoring? Diabetic neuropathy can happen episodically - before it becomes chronic. Nice that the palliative treatments helped. -
Here Are Teams That MAY Need QBs Next Year
stuckincincy replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They ranked #12 in overall defense last season, despite losing both starting DEs and 2 starting LBs. Some backfield players along the way. And playing the 2nd toughest SOS at season start. Few sacks, true. Squared off against NE* last Thursday. Dumped Tommie twice, and without Palmer, eked out a 7 - 6 win, without the services of their kicker. DC Zimmer late of DAL has made a point of getting a lot of game snaps for 3rd round DE Michael Jackson, and seems determined to get 2nd pick Mulugela into a starting MLB spot. Tough task - Dhani Jones has given good service since he was picked up in the 1st third of '07 Coles and Johnson are 30. What is TO's age? Dinko seems to have wised up and has finally figured out that he's not going to be traded, and as far as ps play goes, has torn it up. How do you know Benson won't pan out? He was a mid-season acquisition and did well. Check out his college rah-rah videos - no doubt why CHI tapped him as #4 overall in '05. OL? sure. It's jumbled up - but give them credit unlike BUF for not farting around with chronic no-huddle/shotgun formations when they are trying to work out a starting OL. And ask most everybody here about my opinion of the B'gals owner and franchise... It's wasting effort to ridicule the opposition - it's just triumphalism. Sorry if I've been harsh, my friend... -
Here is why Ted Kennedy gets to be interred at
stuckincincy replied to stuckincincy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Because I wondered why he was going to be interred at Arlington. I have no recollection of him serving in the military, or ever hearing that being mentioned. One wonders why. And I did mention that it was a Wiki reference - feel free to post something you consider more authoratative. That he served seems to be fact. Here's the Arlington rules: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.org/funeral_i....interment.html -
..."Kennedy enlisted in the United States Army in June 1951.[9] Following basic training at Fort Dix, he requested assignment to Fort Holabird for Army Intelligence training, but was dropped after a few weeks without explanation.[9] He went to Camp Gordon for training in the Military Police Corps.[9] In June 1952, he was assigned to the honor guard at SHAPE headquarters in Paris.[4][9] His father's political connections ensured he was not deployed to the ongoing Korean War.[4][10] While stationed in Europe he travelled extensively on weekends and climbed the Matterhorn.[11] He was discharged in March 1953 as a private first class". True? False? A silver spoon elitist child with the way paved and assured? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Kennedy#E...ce.2C_education It's a Wiki reference, so take that for what it is, folks.

What do you think about the Kennedy billions being parked offshore to avoid US taxation?

His fate is up in the air, Frez. They have TE problems. Reggie Kelly tore his achillies tendon in practice, and he is a key player for them - a superior H-back and blocker, and decent hands in a relief-valve role. Utect suffered his 5th concussion (dumb acquisition - hands of stone). They've purchased two or three cast-offs in the last week or so for look-sees. They drafted Chase Coffman, but I think he still has problems with his broken foot. And he has no rep as being being anything other than a largish wide-out. IIRC, he's only been on a couple of snaps, but is 2nd on the chart behind young journeyman Dan Coats. Leonard hasn't seen much ps game action. Perhaps he will get more of a look tomorrow. My guess is that he will be watched for blocking acumen. If he doesn't play at all, or very sparingly, I would think that he doesn't make the cut.

Here Are Teams That MAY Need QBs Next Year
stuckincincy replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd add CIN to the list. Palmer will be in his 7th year in 2010, and I can see them considering a QB in the 4th, possibly 3rd round of the draft. Not 1st or 2nd, of course, but plucking a QB that some other teams hoped would drop further. -
Their evaluations after 3 games seems to be lacking something. With all this ba-de-ba about finally having tall receivers, how about doing some evaluation about fade and fade stop routes?

Saturday's Game Against Pittsburgh Important
stuckincincy replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe we will be astounded, and see the Bills whip out a cornerback blitz. Or possibly, a QB under center with a couple of quick snap handoffs to the up back up the middle. Just to keep the opposing DL thinking about different possibilities. And not always teeing off. Maybe. -
Right. Having a vehicle going into the drink with a passenger, extricating yourself and never looking back, and reporting the accident the next day is what every moral person should do... I'm sure the flags all over Fiji are at half-mast. That's where the family who claimed a tradition of fighting for the rights of the little man park their billions. So much for the shrill cries of "the rich must pay their fair share" of taxation...

Looks like Ben R will give it a go... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/12111663 -
That's what I do. Appreciate the tip from you and Fez about going to MS's site for OS updates. FWIW, I keep both the MS xp native firewall and Comodo both active. No fistfights between the two. I use Comodo in its' paranoid mode.

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 hard-wired cable/DSL router, v. 4.1 IIRC (with a Motorola SB 5101 cable modem and CAT5e cables supplied to me by T-W). The Motorola has an on/off switch - I never boot up with the modem on. Is that Linksys the kind of "box" you are referring to? I've done no changes to it other than change from the default password. It's about 3 years old now.

From the above link: ..."The final drawback of restoring your system has to do with operating system updates. Chances are when you restore your system, updates that have been released since the system was brought home will need downloaded again and reinstalled."... I've diligently d/l'd and installed the XP Service Packs and the endless number of updates through the years. A concern I have with a re-install, is how vulnerable my system would be, as these large files are being downloaded and before they are installed. I've done wipes and re-installs before - I download the latest versions of firewall, Browser, spyware, A/Vs etc. and install them before I get on-line.
