Heinz Field cost $281MM in 2000. That's $374MM in 2020 dollars. This figure does not include cost of Three Rivers Stadium demolition. Gillette Stadium cost $351MM in 2001, $509MM in 2020$. not including highway improvements. Patriot Place cost $356MM in 2007. $440MM in 2020$. You might as well stay at New Era than spend half a billion on an open-air stadium near a lake known for gale-force winds and lake effect snow.

por·tend /pôrˈtend/ Learn to pronounce verb 3rd person present: portends be a sign or warning that (something, especially something momentous or calamitous) is likely to happen. "the eclipses portend some major events" Disagree. And there are reasons why sinking a billion (and it would be a billion) into a reno is a bad idea. There will be a new stadium eventually, likely downtown, but current events have pushed that at least ten more years into the future.

I have to say this bull head logo is sharp. Best logo the school ever had. Hope they get to play games this year in them.

Rumor/Speculation only: Will Pats sign Kapernick?

I support Kaep. I just never thought he was all that as a QB. And he hasn't gotten better missing 4 seasons. -
The Athletic cutting staff/salaries

I think PSE was in more financial trouble than you'd think. At the very least in some panic when oil and gas prices cratered. Much of Terry's wealth is still tied to gas fields he owns. -
The Athletic cutting staff/salaries

I used to respond to his Pegula screeds asking if he'd treat the Athletic the same way if they ever cut staff? We'll find out, won't we? I'm betting....no. -

Sabres writer Joe Yerdon cut. I wonder if John Vogl will tear into them for not paying people like he did with the Pegulas? -
Jake Fromm: Controversial comments
PromoTheRobot replied to Elite Poster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here, here. When I grew up on the East side in the 60s, we all made racist jokes. Our Polish neighborhood bordered a predominantly Black neighborhood and there were dust-ups. I recall taking the NFT bus to Hutch Tech (remember bus passes?) and scuffles would break out between white and black kids. As we grew up, some changed, some dug in deeper to their racial animus. That's just how people are. I'm hoping Jake from State Fromm is one of the 98% who just talk s**t but would never act on what he says. His racism may be like mine was, shared with your buddies for laughs. Not right but not sinister. I hope it's not deeper. -

It's also fragile if people take it for granted. -

He's got every right in the world to express his feelings. But that means everyone else has the right to express THEIR feelings on HIS feelings. -
I agree recent events have taken the pressure off for a new Bills stadium for a while. Not that New Era will last forever, mind you. It will be 50 years old in 2023 when the current lease expires. My seats are in the upper deck and I can feel the thing shaking when fans are jumping. But with stadium cost issues in Los Angeles and the financial impact of the pandemic, it would be a bad look for the NFL to harp on the Pegulas and the state for a new stadium. 2021 would have been the year any new stadium would have to be announced, figuring a two year construction period. Instead I see a lease extension in the cards. Maybe new stadium talk starts again in 5 years or so.

The official retirement count down

What is this retirement you speak of? -
If they allow fans in, maybe. 16K capacity, limit it to 3K?

Davis Webb running the FL workouts?
PromoTheRobot replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Technically, Allen started, just like Matt Cassel started the 2015 season. -

I must have already had a good buzz that game. -

Week 17 vs Jets. It's worth noting that the Bills played their bench against the Jets starters, who struggled for a win. -
VR the next best thing in player evaluation?

Ain't it? I mean you could, in theory, program 11 of those things to recreate the defense of the team you're facing each week. Instant scout team. -

I'm waiting for the Bills to adopt the Dartmouth football robots training method. -
I thought this was a thread about him not signing yet.
