  1. Yup, my first Bills game was at that Roman Coliseum knockoff called War Memorial. It looked hundreds of years old in 1969.
  2. It's a good idea to ignore articles written in the offseason.
  3. Tasker would be an Edelman-type receiver today.
  4. I think you meant Boise State. Ball State wears red and black.
  5. That seems to be the suggestion but does it have to be? Several other stadium projects were built side by side (Philly & Foxboro) Why can't they do that in OP?
  6. So let me ask you this. Could they get creative and come up with a plan that allows both? Lower cost being in the ground but with support points that allow a roof later? One idea I had was a "cloverleaf" design. Each seating section, both sidelines and endzones, are distinct, separated by supports in the corners. You wind up losing most of your seating in the corners, or maybe create areas with obstructed views. (Could be used for concession areas.) I got the idea seeing the Danish soccer stadium in Copenhagen. The Alamodome in San Antonio used the same plan.
  7. Well I'm no architect but I have to imagine a lot hinges on the stadium footprint. One of the big reasons the original Rich Stadium only cost $23MM to build in 1973 was most of the stadium was built in the ground. The result was a wide bowl. Great for fan views but not good if you want to put a roof on. If they did want to put a roof on later they would have to limit the footprint. It would have to be a taller, narrower structure with stacked decks, like Foxboro, which was built totally above ground. One of the big drivers of building in OP again could be, again, the cost of a stadium partially built into the ground. If they replicate that Rich Stadium template, they'll save money upfront but will make it that much more difficult to cover it later.
  8. Quick, someone get @Dunkirk Don take on this. What's going to happen to all that land in Batavia? Naw, it's still a weird move. It should be all smiles and handshakes at the start. If you even float a threat like this right off the bat it sends a bad message.
  9. That's what makes it weird. Maybe that's the Jerruh people talking. They assume the worst in a negotiation.
  10. Sorry. Just in my mind it's "why wouldn't you work with the Bills?" You give them a bridge lease until the new stadium is done, hopefully built next door while you keep playing in the old one. Is that not obvious? Am I missing something?
  11. Oh, and your prefer Toronto?? Stop for a moment and think. PSU is driving distance from WNY. It's also massive stadium. If they were smart they'd sell the worst seats for $20 just to fill that place up. Imagine 105K Bills fans. But are the Bills saying there isn't room to build next to the current stadium? All those lots? Can't fit in one stadium?
  12. I don't think that will need to happen. There have been rumors of property sales near the Key Bank Center the past few years. Not to mention the Perry Projects sitting there mostly empty.
  13. I'll bet they will be lower overall. A couple grand on average. Maybe some seats with no PSL. But you can bet part of the process is knowing who your market is.
  14. True. But a PSL gives you a slightly larger stake. I think the idea here is to lower the public portion as much as possible. The Pegulas will pay, as will Legends or Delaware North. (Whoever gets concessions.) The NFL with their Stadium Loan Fund, Fans with PSL's, state and local governments.
  15. Yes the idea of PSL's suck. But in a way it's like a user fee. Why shouldn't people who go to Bills games share some of the cost of building the stadium? Financing will likely be a mix of private and public money. And PSL's can usually be spread over years.
  16. It's not like there aren't fans who can afford $200 tickets to see the Yankees at Sahlen Field. That's just what belonging to "the club" costs. There's always UB games for $20 up in Amherst. Sucking will do that.
  17. Maybe the land has already been purchased over the past few years? The time to buy is BEFORE You start talking about building a stadium.
  18. We have a lot of WRs. Just saying in case things get to the stupid zone.
  19. Detectors. No wands. They also don't check ID's. Just as long as you flash a vaxx card (if you're sitting in that section.)
  20. Smooth. No delays. But that was with 5K going to the game. I believe no. But with only 15K max at upcoming games parking elsewhere isn't to tough. Correct.
