  1. Nightcap (aka the Buffalo State hour) at 7pm still there?
  2. Buffalo counts as media market #1 too because of a significant alumni base downstate. Certainly more than Rutgers.
  3. I played many player and team props. Simple things like "will Josh Allen go over 21.5 completions?" Duh, yeah! Or "will the Bills score more than 13.5 in the first half?"
  4. It's worth noting UB pounded Rutgers the last time they played. As for recruiting in NYS, the new head coach Mo Linguist, who made a name for himself as a recruiter, has upped recruitment in the region because he felt a lot of talent was being overlooked.
  5. Don't you need friends to make this work.
  6. There's regressing, then there's not having to do it all yourself. If the defense and running game step up, Josh won't have to sling the ball as much. Relax.
  7. Nick only does this for the clicks. Ignore him.
  8. Bulls are anywhere between +11 to +13 against Nebraska. I like those odds.
  9. They got wrecked for years in the MAC. It's the price of moving up. UB has a good rep now, especially with assistant coaches looking to be head coaches. Just look at the staff Mo Linguist assembled. It's obvious that Mo expects success and to move on in a year or two, and his successor, and their successors, are on the staff in waiting. As for travel, they can't move up to any decent conference without increasing travel. So if that scares you away what's the point of building a program? Again, don't look at what UB is now. Look at their trajectory. If I said they'd be nationally ranked ten years ago, you'd say I was high.
  10. And then there's this from the Athletic: 32 bold and not-so-bold NFL predictions for 2021
  11. Nebraska was rather unimpressive in their win against Fordham. Really looking forward to Buffalo next Saturday.
  12. I think your looking at where they are now versus the trajectory of the program. I can't speak for the administration, or SUNY that has traditionally deemphasized athletics, but they have worked steadily to raise the profile of their program. To say that winning in the MAC is their peak is pretty demoralizing. As a university UB belongs with other B1G Ten schools. Athletically they don't, yet. The idea of being peers with Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Bowling Green forever it's just depressing.
  13. But Buffalo would be a good fit in the AAC now that they are losing 3 members to the Big 12. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2021/09/03/big-12-conference-new-schools-join-byu-houston-ucf-cincinnati/5721822001/
  14. They should highlight all Buffalo artists. Rick James, Cannibal Corpse, Green Jello.
  15. Buffalo is too small to play hardball. You want to be in the NFL? You have to subsidize. This isn't Dallas, LA or even Las Vegas where a $5B stadium will pay itself off. You may not like it but it's a fact.
  16. No one knows what the future of college football looks like but right now the only realistic upgrade moves for UB are Conference USA or the American. The B1G Ten makes some sense (location, academics, TV market) but I can't see them taking a MAC school as a new member. Could the Big 12 pick Buffalo? It would give West Virginia a regional rival.
  17. Why not Buffalo? They could use a Northeast school to replace UConn. Top public college in New York. Good at football and basketball. Buffalo is a top 60 TV market and the alumni base includes NYC metro. UB would be a great fit in the AAC.
  18. Yes on Vantrese in this game. Two very sloppy throws were picks but saved by flags. But I've seen him play better. This might just be opening night rust. But good news all around. Running game looked solid. Defense good. O-line? Fuzak was getting beat by Wagner's one stud Titus Leo. Kicking, perfect. Huge improvement from years past where extra points were less than 50-50.
  19. Lol at the different yardsticks used for the Patriots vs the Bills. If Buffalo had their QB situation no one would be talking playoffs. Then again the Patriots do have those special helmet radios that keep working during plays. Definitely a help for a rookie QB.
  20. Keep in mind any town south of Buffalo gets considerably more snow than the city and Northtowns. That said Hamburg is a great place.
  21. Yeah. Lance Leipold's UB team lost to FCS Albany in 2016. Mo's doin' better. FYI, UB played Wagner in 1997 and Wagner shut them out 20-0. So this was payback.
  22. 69-7 against a tomato can. Their one TD off a muffed punt. They took care of business otherwise. Now we face a P5, B1G Nebraska. A totally winnable game. Then ranked Coastal Carolina at home. These next two games will tell us a lot.
  23. Okay they covered.
